Glad you liked it, trazin. Here's the next chappie! Hope you guys enjoy! (i put my usual endings together & that's what i got - at least it's not the usual thing! lol)

Chappie 28

Riku saw them coming and got out of the way. Sora turned around just in time to feel two keyblades go right through him. He instantly started to glow as Anna and Kiari pulled their keyblades back. Sora fell to the ground with his eyes closed. A few seconds after, he stopped glowing.

Kiari couldn’t hold the tears in any longer. She broke out crying as she kneeled down beside Sora and hugged his limp body. Anna walked over to Riku and saw how bad his shoulder actually was. His arm had streams of blood that were still flowing from the wound, and the puncture in his left shoulder was clearly visible. “Are you okay? Why haven’t you tried to use Curaga yet?” Riku had forgotten about his shoulder by this time, but then he wondered how he could have when piercing pain swallowed his whole shoulder. “It’s not that bad, Anna. I’m fine.” Anna still didn’t believe him; there was no way a wound like his could be fine in the state it was in. He knew she didn’t believe him, but he didn’t want her to worry. Anna was a little worried, but she just turned back around to Kairi and Sora.

Anna walked over to them, followed by Riku. They both knew there was really nothing they could do. “He’ll be okay, won’t he? Tell me he’ll be okay.” Kiari said, still hugging Sora with her eyes closed. Anna slowly knelt down beside her and put her hand on Kiari’s shoulder. “He’ll be okay.”

Kiari didn’t move; she just stopped crying a little. Anna stood back up and looked at the room they were in. She still couldn’t figure out where they were. She asked Riku if her knew, and he told her he didn’t know. The room was pretty dark, but there was the heartless insignia covering most of one of the walls. It was glowing dark purple and green, so it gave off plenty of light to see. “It almost reminds me of Maleficent. Do you think we’re in her castle?” “Probably.” He replied.

Kiari finally looked up and slowly looked around. She wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up. Her keyblade, which she had dropped on the floor, disappeared. Anna’s keyblade disappeared also. “This is Maleficent’s castle. If we walk around for a while, we might recognize where exactly we are.” Riku picked Sora up and walked towards the door. “Then let’s go.” Anna almost asked if he was certain he was fine, because when he used his wounded arm, he winced a little, but Anna could tell he tried not to so her and Kiari wouldn’t notice. So she just kept her mouth shut so Kiari wouldn’t remember about Riku’s wound.

“You okay?” Anna asked Kiari quietly. “Yea; as long as he’s okay.” She looked at the ground. “He’ll be fine; I promise.” Anna smiled as Kiari looked back up at her. “Let’s go.” Riku said as he kicked one of the doors open. Anna and Kiari ran up to him and they all walked out of the room.

When they looked at their new surroundings, Riku and Anna recognized where they were. They remembered the hallways full of many doors that lied in front of them. Kiari didn’t even think about asking if they knew where they were going; she just kept looking at Sora, who looked about as lifeless as you could possibly look. Kiari was determined not to lose him; she couldn’t even handle the thought of him dying. She hated having to hurt him, but since it would get him back to normal, she felt like she did the right thing.

“Well, I guess we should find our way to the front door and get out of here. We can go into the city and find somewhere for Sora to stay until he wakes up.” Anna mentioned as she looked at the end of the hallway, trying to figure out which way to go first. But she stood still abruptly. “What’s wrong?” Kairi asked. Anna motioned for her to keep quiet. Riku kept quiet too, knowing that Anna didn’t joke with things like this, and if she thought something was wrong; she was always right. Anna silently crept to the end of the hallway and peeked around the corner just enough to see what was around the corner.

Anna came back silently running. The expression on her face told Riku that something bad was around that corner. “She’s walking this way.” Anna said just loud enough for them to hear. “Who?” Kiari asked in a quiet whisper. “Maleficent.”

trazin, i'm afraid you'll have to read to figure out if Sora died or not! So here's the next chappie! Also, please answer this question: should i put up pics of the new characters in this ff? I'll put them in the fan art section-thingy. I'm good at drawing, & i've already started on a pic of Anna. So, do you guys want to see what the characters i made look like? If you do, let me know, k? Enjoy the chappie!

Chapter 29

“Dang.” Riku muttered. They finally get a chance to fight Maleficent and they couldn’t. His left arm was in serious pain, Sora was unconscious, Kiari was still getting herself together, and Riku didn’t know how Anna would do fighting alone, but he wouldn’t even let her fight Maleficent alone. She was good, but she couldn’t take on Maleficent alone. None of them could.

“Riku, can you open a portal?” Riku looked at Anna like she asked the most ridiculous question ever. “No; I don’t belong to the realm of darkness anymore. Can you open a portal?” Anna looked back at him the same way. “I’m not in darkness, either. Princess of ‘Light’, not ‘Darkness’. I can’t belong to the dark realm.” “I don’t care, just try. Unless you or Kiari have some other idea, cause I don’t have anything else.” They heard distant footsteps coming their way. “She’s gonna kill Sora if she sees me trying to escape. Well, she’s gonna kill all of us if she sees us. Anna, you have to try to make a portal. I don’t have anything, either.” Kiari whispered.

“Okay, but don’t blame me if we have to fight in the state we’re in.” Anna closed her eyes. She really didn’t know how to go about this. “How did you open a portal?” She asked Riku quietly. She heard Maleficent’s footsteps getting louder, and she realized that they would have to run or fight if this didn’t work. “I just thought about opening a portal. You’ve seen me do it in one of the games, right? Just imitate what I did, and hurry.” Riku had realized the same thing as Anna, and he hoped this would actually work.

Anna did what she had seen Riku do, except she didn’t look quite as confident as he did when he used to open portals. She tried her best to think about opening a portal. Then she lost all concentration as she heard the footsteps stop. Riku, Kiari, and Anna all stood completely still. Then they heard something else. It sounded like someone was groaning. Then they realized it was coming from Sora. Kiari quickly put her hand over his mouth to keep him from talking. He slowly opened his eyes, which were back to their normal color. He looked at Kiari and tried to smile. She motioned for him to be silent, but he wasn’t getting it. “What?” Sora’s muffled voice broke the silence, and they heard the footsteps break into a fast walk.

“Anna, come on! Now!” Riku yelled. Anna put out her hand and concentrated the best she could. Just as Maleficent turned the corner, followed by what seemed to be an army of heartless, a small, glowing circle appeared in front of Anna’s hand. It started growing rapidly; in two seconds it was the size of a normal portal. Anna stood there for a second, surprised at what she had just done. Riku, however, dumped Sora on the ground and pushed Kiari in the portal. As Sora stood up, he whipped out his keyblade to buy a few seconds so they could get through the portal. Heartless jumped on them from every direction, and they couldn’t seem to get in the portal without keeping heartless from getting in.

“Guys, come on!” Kiari yelled from the other side of the portal. Riku kept yelling at Anna, telling her to get through, but every time she tried, she was blocked by heartless. Sora and Riku weren’t going to go through until Anna did, but she couldn’t get through without letting heartless in. Sora hit a few heartless out of his way, and he saw the portal was unblocked, but it was starting to close. He saw Anna out of the corner of his eye, and he pushed her into the portal, then kept fighting off the army of heartless that kept coming. Then he thought for a second. Anna was heavier than she looked, and she had a lot more muscle. She also groaned like a guy when she hit the floor inside the portal. “Oh no. He’s gonna kill me!” Sora slashed the heartless in front of him and looked at the portal. He heard someone muttering “I’m going to kill him if they don’t”. It was Riku. Sora looked to his left and saw Anna still fighting heartless. He reached out, grabbed her arm, and threw her towards the closing portal. He jumped after her, hoping he could make it in, too. But when he looked up at Anna, he saw about seven purple balls of electricity hit her in the side. It drove her all the way to the end of the hallway, and she smacked the wall and fell on the ground. Sora saw spots on her clothes turn deep red.

He wanted to go get her somewhere safe, but he remembered he was in midair, flying into a portal. He looked back in front of him to see himself going into the portal, but found himself instead colliding with the wall. He fell to the ground and grimaced as what seemed to be three exploding bullets hit his side and leg. His vision started to blur, and his surroundings started to get dark. He quickly gathered his strength and got up and ran over to Anna, who was unconscious, and still bleeding. Suddenly, he was shoved to the ground. He was then kicked hard enough to lift him off the floor about halfway down the hall. He let out a groan as he hit the floor and rolled a few feet. Lying on his back, He slowly opened his eyes and tried to get up, but he was again hit with more bullets. These felt different; they hurt much worse, and the pain spread from the spot of impact.

“Why, do those stupid, things have to hurt, so bad…” he managed to mutter under his breath. He felt a footstep on his chest, keeping him from getting up, but he didn’t even have the strength to anyway. “Say good bye and then shut up.” The man pointed his spear-like weapon in Sora’s face. Sora strained his eyes to see the man’s face, but his hood shadowed his face. He heard the man laugh, and he saw a purple energy ball form inches away from his face. A split second later, Sora felt pain swallow his head, and then it flooded into the rest of his body. He felt the foot lift off of him. He tried to look up again to see who it was, and…everything turned black. Black and silent.

Okay, i'll post the pics. Just be patient w/ me on them - I'ma good artist, but i'm also very picky with whatever artwork i'm doing & it has to be exactly like i want it to before i'm done w/ it. Here's the next chappie - hope you enjoy!

Chappie 30

“What?! You threw you’re spear into her?! I told you to distract them; keep them occupied! Not to kill them!” “I told you; I knew she wasn’t going to die.” “And tell me exactly what made you so sure!” “Have you seen the way Riku protects her? There’s no way he ever would have just let her die like that. As I said, it was a distraction. You told me to keep them occupied, and that’s what I’ve been doing.”

Sora was fully awake now. He didn’t dare open his eyes, though. He heard Maleficent and Shadow talking, and they were in the same room as he was. He listened for Anna’s voice, but he only heard Maleficent asking Shadow if he had done any other stupid acts such as throwing his spear through someone. Shadow replied by informing her of when he released Riku’s heart in Halloween Town. Maleficent was equally upset at this news as she was before.

Sora waited for what seemed like an hour until Maleficent and Shadow left the room, still arguing. He opened his eyes and found himself lying on the floor in a prison cell. He stood up and looked through the bars in front of him. He was in Maleficent’s dungeon; at least that was his safe assumption. Maleficent and Shadow must have been in the dungeon hallway, but he couldn’t hear them or anything else now. He tried to open the cell door, but it was locked. “This is too easy.” He grinned at how simple getting out would be. He held out his hand, and the Oathkeeper appeared in it. He pointed at the lock, and in a few seconds he was out.

Sora figured that Anna had to be in the dungeon somewhere, so he started looking for her. After twenty minutes of searching, he found himself back at the cell in which he had been locked in before. “Great; if she’s not in here…who knows where she is.”

“If he’s awake, bring him up here. If he’s not; bring him up anyway.” Sora heard Maleficent giving orders. He looked a few yards to his left and saw a man’s shadow creeping down the dungeon staircase. He frantically looked around for a place to hide. He didn’t want the man, who he guessed was Shadow, to find him; let alone find him roaming through the dungeon. Just as the man’s footsteps found their way to the end of the staircase, Sora silently ran around the corner and stood flat against the wall, hoping Shadow didn’t decide to come looking for him. But Sora’s wish didn’t come true; Shadow stopped for a moment, but started walking in Sora’s direction. Sora started silently running farther away again. He didn’t stop when he got the next corner this time; he kept going until he couldn’t hear footsteps anymore.

He thought about what to do next. The dungeon hallways made up a large octagon, so if he kept going, Shadow would eventually find him. He leaned quietly up against the wall and kept thinking. After about thirty seconds, he had concluded he had two options. The first was that he could let Shadow take him upstairs, and possibly lose the only chance to get away from Shadow and Maleficent without a fight. The second was to try and fight Shadow off there in the dungeon. Sora knew the second option was the only real option. He closed his eyes for a moment, then got out his keyblade. He heard faint footsteps farther away, and prepared himself for the upcoming fight.

He tried to guess when Shadow would turn the corner, but his footsteps had lost their rhythm. Then they were back to their normal pace again. Sora listened closely, and he thought they sounded louder than before. It wasn’t a major difference; he could hardly tell. But it sounded like someone was halfway stomping, or like they had heavy shoes on, or like…there were two people. Sora was sure of it; there were two people coming his way. It sounded like the other person was coming from the opposite direction of Shadow. Sora quietly moved himself to the center of the long wall and faced the cells on the opposite side.

He tried to prepare himself for a fight with two people up against him, but he was having trouble. He had a lot of things on his mind that were troubling him. He couldn’t find Anna; Kiari and him were separated again, Riku was with Kiari, at least, but Sora didn’t even know where they were; he and Riku were separated again; and Riku would be mad at him for pushing him in the portal instead of Anna; he was in Maleficent’s castle; and now he had two people who he had to fight at he same time.

He realized that he had shut his eyes while he was thinking, and he quickly opened them. He listened yet again and found that the other person was closer to him than Shadow was. He decided he’d get the advantage of surprising that person, and he slowly crept his was to the corner that the person would come around. He waited a few seconds, and then decided the time was right. He jumped around the corner and swung his keyblade at the person. He saw a sword meet his keyblade in defense, and he felt the vibration that ran down his keyblade from the block. He looked up to see who he had just engaged in a fight with, and saw a girl with purple eyes and black hair in a ponytail looking back.

Ps - if you remember from one of the first chappies, it describes Anna as having blonde hair & blue eyes. & you'll have to keep reading to figure out if the other girl comes back in!
Here's the next chappie - glad you guys have been enjoying the ff! It makes me happy! ^^

Chappie 31

Sora shoved her sword’s blade off of his keyblade. He stepped back, and she lowered her sword. Behind him, he heard Shadow turn the corner. Sora quickly turned around and saw Shadow with a short spike in his hand. “What are you doing here?” Shadow asked the girl sharply. She looked to be about twenty, and she had long bangs that hung down either sides of her face, and the rest of her pitch-black hair was in a ponytail that went down to her waist. “I think you know what I’m doing here.”

Sora noticed the girl sounded very calm. He began to think she wasn’t trying to kill him. She walked in front of him and stood between him and Shadow. “If you leave now, I won’t have to hurt you.” Shadow said coldly. Sora moved to the side so he could see Shadow. He was now holding his spear and looked ready to kill anyone in his way. Sora gripped his keyblade tightly; he knew Shadow wasn’t going to kill him, but he didn’t know if he would spare this girl.

“That was an idle threat. I’m not swayed by idle threats, Shadow. You ought to know that more than anyone else.” The girl sounded serious now. Serious, but still calm. “Melanie; I’m still working for this lady. She said to kill anyone who got in my way besides the four kids. That means anyone else…”

“I know what it means. That doesn’t change my mind, though. Why are you working for this lady anyway?” Sora started to wonder why they sounded like they knew each other so well, and how did Shadow know her name was Melanie? “I don’t want to hurt you; just leave. It’ll make things less complicated if you do. If that lady sees you; I don’t know what she’d do.” “I’m not leaving. I don’t care what she tries to do to me. I don’t care if she tries to kill me. I don’t care if you try to kill me.”

Shadow got an angry look on his face. He held out his spear and pointed the tip at her. She didn’t move. He tapped the end of the spear closest to him and an energy ball formed on the end pointing at Melanie. Melanie still didn’t even flinch. She just looked at Shadow with piercing eyes that had no trace of fear in them. Shadow stood still for a minute, and then he made the energy ball vanish. He lowered his spear and stepped back a little. “I can’t do that Melanie. I can’t kill you; I can’t hurt you.”

“I know. That’s why I’m here. Someone has to do something. The king himself asked me to come here and help, Shadow. This is serious. Do you even know what this lady’s planning? She’s probably going to kill you when she’s done having you kill everyone in her way.” “Melanie; I don’t have time for games.” “Neither do I.” “Just leave, Melanie. Please; you can’t expect me to hurt my little sister.”

“I don’t expect you to, and I know you’ll never be able to hurt me. That’s why I’m here to stop you. And if I can’t stop you, then I’ll at least save these kids from getting their lives torn apart or taken from them. Why would you think it’s okay to harm innocent people? How could you harm innocent kids? They haven’t done anything wrong!”

Sora was now completely lost. He was trying to understand how they could talk like this without breaking into a fight. They were both holding their weapons; Sora would have started fighting by now.

“All I know is that they’ve done something wrong in that lady’s eyes, and she’s my boss right now! That’s enough for me!” Shadow this time pointed his spear at Sora and made an energy ball appear. It was as big as the one that had knocked him out before. “Not again...” Sora muttered to himself. Melanie just sighed. “That’s enough for you? Well, that’s a shame.” She threw her sword at Shadow, and it went through his heart and the blade pierced through his back. He dropped his spear and fell to the ground. He couldn’t say anything, and he couldn’t move.

“Go to sleep, brother.” She pulled out her sword, which was amazingly still just as clean as it was before it had gone through Shadow’s body. Shadow went unconscious. After he was asleep, Melanie pulled out a small glass bottle from her pocket. It had some powder in it. She sprinkled some over the puncture in his body, and in ten seconds it was completely healed. Sora was now just confused, lost, and stared at the scene with wide eyes.

Shadow was still asleep, but he was completely healed. Melanie stood up. “There’s no time to explain. We have to go, now.” She quickly walked around the corner and to the middle of the hallway. She turned to the wall on her left and rubbed her hands over some of the stones. She then stepped back, and punched one of the stones. There appeared suddenly a door in the wall. Sora was now standing beside her, and was now even more bewildered. Melanie pushed him in the door and walked in after him.

“What is going on?!” Sora practically yelled. He was frustrated; he had no clue what was going on, still. Melanie sighed. “My name is Melanie, as you heard. Shadow, that man, is my older brother. Two years older than me. When we were little, our parents were killed. We went to live with my friend. When I was seventeen and Shadow was nineteen, someone came and killed my friend and his family while Shadow and I were in town. When we returned, a man told us what had happened and offered us protection and a place to stay. Shadow refused at first, but when the man said he could teach Shadow and I how to protect ourselves, Shadow finally said okay. I said no, however. I was sure that man was evil. So the man took Shadow and left. That was three years ago. I took care of myself, learned how to fight, and became a professional healer. All that time, Shadow was the man’s student, and now he is a deadly assassin, or bounty hunter.”

Sora stood with his eyes wide open. Most people didn’t spill out the story of their life like that. He felt bad for her, having to go through all that. Melanie, however, still looked as calm as could be. Her emotions were the same as before. “Um, what happened to that man?” Melanie sighed again. “On my nineteenth birthday, that man came back to Traverse Town, which is my hometown. Shadow wasn’t with him. He told me that I could either join him or die. I knew he was evil, so I didn’t go with him. We fought, and I had to kill him. Any more questions?” Sora was silent again. “No? Okay then, we need to find Anna; she’s in a lot of danger.” Melanie started walking down the dark hallway they were now in.

“Do you know what Maleficent’s going to do with her?” Sora was afraid of what he was about to hear. The worse the danger Anna was in from Maleficent meant the worse the danger he was in from Riku. “Whatever it is, it’s not good. Come on; we really need to find her.” Sora ran up beside her and started wondering what exactly Maleficent was trying to do.
