Here's the next chappie...hope you like it!

Chapter 63

“Anna! Anna, come on, wake up!” Riku finally got out of his seatbelt and slowly got Anna out of hers. He tried to get the car door open, but it was stuck. Riku shot some dark magic at the door using his hand, and the door flew about ten yards away. Bethany and Emily stared as they saw the car door fly off the car and land about twenty yards away, smoking from the magic. Riku carefully got out of the car, holding Anna. He turned around slightly and saw that Bethany and Emily were still in the car. “Get out; now.” He ordered.

They tried to get their doors to open, but they wouldn’t budge. They tried to crawl out through the front doors, but they couldn’t get to them. “Cover your heads.” Riku ordered; these girls seemed so helpless and scared that it annoyed him. He set Anna on the ground gently, and turned around the car again. Bethany and Emily ducked and covered their heads like their life depended on it. Riku hit the car door with his keyblade, and the door fell off. Emily and Bethany still kept their heads down, even after the door came off.

“Get out; now.” He ordered again. They quickly scrambled out of the car and stood close to it, seeing it as some sort of protection. Riku rolled his eyes and looked around. He didn’t see anything out of the normal. No heartless - nothing. Suddenly, he heard a crashing noise farther behind him. He turned around and saw a giant heartless coming their way. “Dang.” He muttered. He had to protect two girls who couldn’t do anything, and he had to protect Anna.

“What is it?” Bethany asked. Her and Emily turned around and gasped. Riku was glad they did, he was afraid they’d scream instead. “Go get behind something and stay hidden. Take her with you. Do not let anything happen to her.” Riku said as he stared at the heartless, trying to identify its type. “Okay.” Bethany answered quietly. She grabbed Emily’s arm and ran over to Anna. They picked Anna up and carried her behind the house closest to them. After Riku made sure they were all the way behind the house, he turned around, whipped out his keyblade, and gripped it tightly.

“I can’t believe Anna is friends with them. They aren’t used to all this, though. They’re probably not acting like they normally do. I hope they aren’t.” Riku muttered. He still couldn’t identify the type of heartless that as headed for him, so he decided he’d get closer to it and keep it farther away from Anna and the other two.

When he got closer, he realized he’d never seen this type of heartless before. It was bigger than any of the other heartless he’d seen before. It had long arms and legs, and its hands were really big. It had a large heartless insignia on its chest that was dark purple and dark red. The rest of the heartless was pitch black, except for its yellow eyes. It had two long antennae coming from its head; the antennae were jagged.

Riku looked at the heartless for a moment. It didn’t seem to even know he was there. He shrugged it off and ran to attack it. He could really only hit its feet; it was too big to even hurt. “I’ve got to get up farther. It can’t even feel this.” He looked around. He couldn’t see anything that would help, and he couldn’t think of anything. He was suddenly brought out of his train of thought as he realized the heartless was about to step on him. He quickly dove out from under its foot and rolled a few feet. The ground vibrated as it took a step right by his body.

Riku quickly got up and tried to figure out what the heartless was doing. It was completely ignoring him, so Riku knew something was different than usual. He noticed the heartless was headed straight in the direction of the house their car had crashed into. Riku thought for a moment, then realized the heartless’s agenda. It was after Anna, or the other two girls. Riku ran after the heartless as fast as he could. The heartless was so big that it could walk much faster than Riku could run. Riku held out his hand and opened a portal in front of him. He ran through it and ran out in front of the crashed car. He turned around to see the heartless not very far from him.

“This is not good.” He muttered. He tried to think of a way to get higher up so he could actually hurt the heartless. He thought for about a minute before he thought of anything that might work. He remembered that Anna said her and Melanie were up in the air when they tried to fix Kingdom Hearts. Melanie was the Princess of Darkness, and now he was the Prince of Darkness. If she could fly, he could too. At least that’s what he hoped. He tried to think of how to make himself get the wings Melanie had, but he didn’t know how. He didn’t know what to do. The heartless was close to stepping right in front of him.

“Riku!” He turned around and saw Anna staring up in the sky. He knew she was staring at the heartless. “Anna, can you even fight right now?” She snapped out of her daze and ran up by him. “Yea, I’m fine. But, how are we supposed to fight it? It’s massive; we can’t even hurt it at ground level.” She looked the heartless over. “How did you get your wings?” He asked quickly. “What?” “You said you and Melanie were up in the air that one time. If you two could, we can. How did you get your wings?”

Anna paused for a moment. “You just think about what you want to do. You want to kill this thing, right?” Riku nodded. “So you’ll have to have wings so you can fly up there, right?” Riku nodded again. “So think about your wings. You’ll get them. You just have to think of it as a reflex. Think about it, and it’ll happen.” Anna didn’t wait for Riku to reply or acknowledge her explanation.

She closed her eyes and concentrated. Riku watched as she started to glow. At first it was dim, but it grew brighter and brighter. She started floating, and then Riku watched as angel wings rapidly appeared on her back. They were long enough that they touched the ground, even though she was floating about a foot up in the air. Her glow died down until it was just barely visible. She looked over at Riku. “You might want to hurry up.” She pointed to the heartless, which was one step away from crushing them.

Riku quickly closed his eyes and concentrated. The only thought running through his mind was ‘wings’. He opened his eyes and realized that he was in the air beside Anna, and he was glowing, but his glow was so dark it was almost black. He looked behind him and saw that he had black wings. He quickly looked up in time to see the heartless’s foot coming down on them. He quickly grabbed Anna’s arm and moved out of the heartless’s way, pulling Anna right beside him.

She fell into him from the force of being jerked, but he caught her. “Thanks.” She said sheepishly, embarrassed that she had just basically waited there for the heartless to stomp her. She had been watching Riku, so she didn’t even notice the heartless. “Let’s- what?” Riku was going to say “Let’s go get this over with”, but when he saw that instead of stepping where they had just been, the heartless drew its foot back and turned towards them. “What is it doing?” Anna asked as she stared up at it. “I think it’s after you. Seriously.” Riku said. Anna looked at him. “Why?” Riku kept looking at the heartless to see what it would do next. “I don’t know.”

Riku suddenly saw the heartless raise it’s arm up in the air. “When I tell you, fly up so you’re at the lame level as its head.” He said. “Okay.” Anna didn’t know how they were going to take this thing down without damaging too much of the surroundings. Riku saw the heartless swing its arm down. “Now.” He said. Anna flew up quickly, expecting Riku to be beside her. But he wasn’t. She looked down and saw Riku pointing his keyblade at the heartless’s giant hand swinging towards him.

Riku held his keyblade tightly. If this didn’t work, he would be smacked back and he would probably crash into the house behind him. He waited until the heartless’s hand was a few yards away. He shot an extremely large blast of dark magic at the hand just before it was about to hit him. The hand withdrew immediately and formed a fist. It swung back at Riku. Riku was able to dodge it; the heartless was relatively slow. Riku flew up beside Anna and pointed to the heartless’s head. “You know how it is; attack the head.” He mentioned as he prepared for what seemed to be the beginning of a long fight. “Yea. After our heartless killing sprees, I think I have it down.” She smiled.

Riku nodded in acknowledgement and flew at the heartless. He started attacking it relentlessly. He could tell it was hurting the heartless badly, because the heartless started to stumble over. The heartless suddenly found the speed to swing its hand at Riku and knock him into a building a little farther off. Riku crashed through a large window and hit the wall. He fell on his face and bit his lip. “Dang, that thing is strong.” He muttered as he picked himself up off the floor. He looked up and saw that the room was empty. Lucky for him; he didn’t want to deal with anyone freaking out that he crashed through their window.

He ran at the window and jumped out. For a few seconds, he just fell. He panicked for a moment, forgetting why he had such confidence to jump out of a building that high up in the air. He didn’t know if he could survive a fall like that on Earth; he knew he could on the worlds he was used to, but he felt unsure about falling from this height on Earth. “Fly, Riku. Come on. It’s either fly or fall. Come on.” He finally was able to flap his wings. “I have to get used to this.” He told himself as he flew back to Anna and the heartless. He couldn’t see Anna very well, but he could tell she was fighting it.

When he got close enough to hit it, Anna gave the heartless’s head a devastating blow with her keyblade; it seemed to be charged with light. The heartless stumbled over in the other direction. “You okay?” Anna asked, even though she knew the answer she would get. “Yea.” As soon as the words left Riku’s mouth, Anna flew at the heartless. She was determined to kill the thing, even if it took forever, which it seemed like it would. Riku trailed her until they reached the heartless. He then got around to the other side of its head and started attacking it.

Suddenly, he heard Anna start to yell his name, but she didn’t finish it. He rushed around the heartless and stared at what he saw. Someone in a black cloak was holding Anna, keeping her from falling to the ground. She was unconscious, although she didn’t appear to be hurt. Riku didn’t know who it was, until the figure took his hood off. Riku’s eyes blazed with anger. It was Dane. Dane smirked at Riku, and then suddenly took on a green glow. In two seconds, he and Anna disappeared.

*gasp* Dane has returned! Lol, it's a cliffy which makes me want to know what happens now!

Lol, when I first saw 'Someone in a black cloak' I immediately assumed it was Axel. Idk, he's always been there for Anna, right? He's also the only member of Org. XIII in this story as far as I know. Then I saw that it was Dane, which made me shocked (in a good way, because it's the cliffy )

Quite late to catching up with what's going on but overall well done for the past two updates, hope the next installment doesn't have a cliffhanger but usually I'm wrong about those things lol.

I do enjoy cliffhangers its mainly just for the most part whenever I have a clear idea about what is going to happen next I'm surprised once again, nothings wrong with that though.

Guys, i have some bad news. My school year ended yesterday, so idk if i'll be able to post chappies everyday now. I usually only have interent access unless i'm at school, or at my friend's house (where i am now). So, unfortunately, the updates on chappies might be slower - please don't forget about this ff, though! Here's the next chappie, anyway.

Chapter 64

Riku couldn’t say anything. He stared at the now empty spot where Anna was just half a minute ago. His emotions of fear, anger, confusion, and shock all fought to reveal themselves in his eyes. Somehow, they all mixed and blazed in his eyes at the same time. His eyes immediately screamed pain, though, as the heartless grabbed him in its tight grip. Riku couldn’t move. He couldn’t even see anything but the blackness of the hand now trying to crush him. He started getting mad. Even madder than he already was, which was extremely mad. He yelled as he summoned all of his strength and broke out of the grip of the heartless. He glared at it with eyes that now only exhibited anger.

He quickly flew around to its chest and charged straight at its center, ready to kill. He stabbed his keyblade into the heartless as for as he could without letting go of the handle. He then used all the magic he had to blow the largest attack of magic he had ever done into the heartless. He let got of the keyblade and flew back. He was done.

He watched the heartless quiver and stumble around. After a few seconds, it faded away. He watched a heart float up in the air. Out of nowhere, a small, white portal swallowed it. The portal quickly closed after the heart went through. Riku didn’t even think about it, though. He let himself fall until he was a few feet away from the ground. He flapped his wings to break the fall, and then landed.

He slowly walked around the house and found Bethany and Emily sitting silently close to a bush. He walked over to them quietly. When they saw him, they stared at him with wide eyes. He was cut up, bloody, he had bruises, he was slightly glowing a dark purple color, and he had wings. Not exactly what they expected to see. “Is the monster thing gone now?” Bethany asked. Riku nodded. “Why do you have wings?” She asked. Riku was silent. “Bethany, he doesn’t want to talk right now; I think.” Emily whispered. “I have wings because Anna taught me how.” Riku answered. He felt a twinge of pain when he said Anna’s name. It wasn’t physical pain; it was emotional. “Where is Anna, now that you mention her?” Bethany asked. Emily elbowed her in the ribs.

“Oww! Quit!” Bethany exclaimed as she pushed Emily’s arm away. She then looked up to see Riku looking to the side, facing the ground. “Somewhere else.” He answered solemnly. Bethany wanted so badly to ask him where else Anna could be, but she kept her mouth shut. “We need to find Anna’s family.” Riku said as he started walking back to the front of the house. Emily and Bethany kept their distance, but followed him. “Do you know where she lives?” Riku asked over his shoulder. “No. We don’t even know her.” Bethany replied.

“Actually, you do.” They both exchanged glances that implied Riku was crazy. “Uh, are you okay? Did you hit your head at all recently?” Bethany asked. “You used to be friends with her. She lived here, went to school here, and you two were her best friends.” Riku said as he looked at street sings. He had no clue what to do. “So you’re trying to say that the girl, Anna, right? Yea, that Anna was our best friend, and suddenly we don’t remember her?” Emily asked with a hint of confusion and sarcasm in her voice. “You haven’t remembered her for a while now; it’s not that you suddenly don’t remember her. You forgot her about half a year ago.”
“And what, she remembers us perfectly?” Bethany asked with much more sarcasm than Emily used. “Yes.” Riku was loosing his patience with them. He started walking down the road in the direction they were going before their car crashed. They walked after him reluctantly. “You can’t be serious. This is so stupid. Why are we following you anyway? We don’t have to. The only thing following you has done for us so far is put us in danger. We were perfectly safe before this, and even though you said this was for our protection, we are not being protected!” Bethany was mad now. So was Riku.

He stopped abruptly and turned around to them. They stepped back some and a slight feeling of fear came over them. Riku glared at them with the most intimidating eyes they had ever seen.

“Look, for all I care, you can leave now. If it were up to me, I would just leave you guys out here alone. I’m only doing this for Anna, okay? You two are her best friends from Earth, although I have no clue how she could tolerate you. She wants you safe, and I’m doing my best to keep you safe. And that fight with the heartless back there? Don’t even think about complaining about your safety. You sat behind the house while Anna and I killed it. And it’s partly your fault she’s gone now; she came here in the first place to try and save Earth, and now she’s gone. If we weren’t on Earth, I might have an idea of where she is. So don’t even start with complaining about yourselves, okay? I look like I just got beat up, but I’m not complaining, am I? You guys have no clue what it’s like to be in danger. That fight back there; you guys really weren’t in danger at all.”

Riku turned around sharply and kept walking. He sighed to calm himself down, although he wasn’t feeling any regret from the speech he gave them. He knew they couldn’t protect themselves, but they had no reason to complain about anything right now. He glanced over his shoulder and saw that Emily and Bethany were trailing him, leaving quite a bit of space between themselves and him. “I have no clue how there’s anything in common with them and you, Anna.” He murmured to himself.

Anna. As soon as he said her name, he started worrying. Dane had her, and Riku had no clue where they were. What if Dane was back at the other worlds? Then Anna would be okay; she knew her way around all the worlds already. And if Dane was still here on Earth? She most likely knew her way around this world, too. That was, unless this word was bigger than the others. “How bid is this world?” Riku called over his shoulder. He waited for a response.

For a moment, he heard no response. Then, an answer came quietly. “Uh, well, it’s not as big as the sun. But it’s bigger than Pluto. I think it’s smaller than Mars, too. I think it’s smaller than any of the planets. Except for Pluto.” Emily answered. Riku was confused. “Um, I’m not from this world, and I’ve never been to any of those other planets. So, just tell me if you think this world is big or not.” He said, hoping he would get an answer that helped. “I think it’s huge.” Bethany stated. “Yea, it’s really, really big.” Emily added.

“Great.” Riku murmured. If Dane had Anna here, he didn’t know how long it would take to find her. But he knew one thing for sure – Dane wasn’t going to kill Anna. Dane didn’t take Anna to kill her. Dane took her because he wanted her and him to be together. He wanted Riku out of the picture. It made Riku mad thinking about Dane taking Anna like that, but he felt a touch better knowing he wasn’t going to kill Anna. Riku also felt better knowing that Anna could easily take care of herself; she wasn’t a wimp. Sure, she wasn’t invincible, but she could fight for her own.

“Riku?” Riku was broke from his train of thought. He glanced over his shoulder and looked at the two girls behind him. “Do you know where we’re going?” Emily asked. Riku paused before answering. “To find Anna’s family.” “Do you know where her family is?” Bethany asked. Riku rolled his eyes. “If I knew where they were, would I have to go and find them? No, I don’t know where her family is.”

“Oh. Well, what’s her last name? I mean, Anna. What’s her last name?” Bethany asked. “Davis.” Riku answered. “My mom knows a family with the last name Davis. It’s a dad, a mom, and two brothers. I think they have a dog, too.” Bethany said, trying to remember if they had a dog or not. Riku stopped walking. “Do you know where that family is?” Bethany nodded. “My mom said they’re staying at the grandma’s house. I guess that would be, Anna’s grandma. But they haven’t mentioned anything about a girl named Anna. Did they forget about her, too?” Bethany asked. Riku nodded. “No one here remembers her. It’s like she never existed. Do you know where her grandma’s house it?”

“That’s so sad. Her own family doesn’t remember her.” Bethany mentioned. “Bethany? Her grandma’s house; where is it?” Emily said. “Oh, um, well, it’s actually just a few houses down from mine.” “Great. Your house is on the other side of town. And we have to walk now.” Emily sighed. “About how many miles away is your house?” Riku asked. “About thirty.” Riku thought for a moment. Then he held out his hand.

“What are you doing?” Emily asked. Riku didn’t answer, he let the portal opening in front of his hand answer for him. Bethany and Emily stared at the dark portal. “What, is that?!” Bethany asked. “It’s a portal. Walk in.” Riku said. Emily shook her head. “Where does it go to?” Bethany asked, curiosity showing in her eyes. “About thirty miles from here.” Riku nodded his head toward the portal, motioning for them to walk though. “Why do we have to go first?” Emily asked. “Because if I go through first, how do I know that you’ll come after me? I’m used to these portals. I’m going through anyway.”

“Let’s go!” Bethany exclaimed as she tugged Emily towards the portal a few feet in front of them. “Whatever. But if we get hurt, I’m blaming you.” Emily told Bethany as they walked through. Riku rolled his eyes and walked in after them. He didn’t have to worry about anyone seeing them; he had opened the portal under a large tree, and no one was outside.

“There’s my house! It worked! That’s so cool!” Bethany exclaimed. She ran towards her house. “Bethany! We’re not going to your house! We’re going to Anna’s grandma’s house!” Emily yelled after her. Riku and Emily watched as Bethany stopped, turned around, and ran back to them. “Which house is her grandma’s?” Riku asked as Bethany came up tot hem, blushing from embarrassment. “That one down there, I’m pretty sure.” Bethany pointed to a house behind Riku and Emily. Riku turned around and walked towards it. “What if her family isn’t here?” Emily asked. “I don’t know.” Riku really didn’t know. He had no clue how to solve any of this. And there were a lot of problems that needed to be solved.

Chapter 65

“What, what’s…happening? Agh!” Anna got a severe headache out of nowhere. Her vision started to blur, and her legs gave out on her. She fell to her knees and held her head as she curled forward.

Dane stared with fear and shock. “Anna?! Anna, are you okay?!” He didn’t know what to do. The expression of pain suddenly left her face. She couldn’t feel anything; she went completely numb. Then she went out, and fell on the ground. “Anna!” Dane rushed over to her and held her. It looked like she was having a flashback, or a dream, like they did in the Kingdom Hearts II video game. He stared at her face, hoping she was only having a dream. She looked like she was barely breathing.

“Hi, my name’s Emily. My mom knows you. Mrs. Davidson, that’s my mom. You’re friends with her, right?” Emily asked sweetly. Her, Bethany, and Riku were standing on the porch of Anna’s grandma’s house. “Yes, I do know your mom. She’s told me all about you. Is there something you need?” Mrs. Davis smiled. “Yea, actually. You know how all those black monster things seem to be focused on your family? Well, we know why now.” Emily said. She looked at Riku, who seemed to want her to leave it at that. “Oh. Well, come on in. We’ll talk inside.” Mrs. Davis held the door open for them as the three of them walked in. She closed the door after them and walked back inside the house.

Once inside, the three of them looked around. They were in the living room, or at least that’s what the room appeared to be. It was a little small, but it was what you would term as a “cozy” room. There was a couch, two chairs, two recliners, a keyboard piano, a large cabinet with glass windows, and a large flat screen TV. “They have a flat screen! My TV’s not even that big!” Bethany whispered to Emily. “Go ahead and sit down. Now, why are those things so focused on this family?” Mrs. Davis sat down in the unoccupied recliner; Anna’s grandma was in the other. The grandpa was sitting on the couch, reading the newspaper.

“Well, it’s…” Emily started to explain, but Riku gave her a quick glance that told her to let him do the talking. “Well, first off, this is my friend Bethany, and he’s Riku. He can explain it better than I can, so ask him.” Emily said. Mrs. Davis looked over at Riku and waited for an explanation. She seemed a little taken back by his hair, but she quickly got over it. Riku noticed her surprise and sighed on the inside.

“The reason those monsters are after your family is that your family is connected to a person that they would like to get their hands on. The monsters are being lead by someone, although I don’t know who. That someone wants the person connected to your family. They’re hoping that they can set a trap for that someone; if they put your family in danger, that person would try to save or protect you, and the monsters would try to take the person while the person was here. Does that make sense?” Riku said calmly.

The grandparents were listening in, and they seemed worried. Riku didn’t blame them. “Do you know who this ‘someone’ that’s connected to us is? By ‘connected’, do you mean that person’s a relative?” Mrs. Davis asked. “Yes, it’s a relative. I do know who it is, but you don’t know them.” Riku said, hoping the answer would be enough. Mrs. Davis nodded in acknowledgement and leaned back some. “Is there anything we can do about this?” She asked. “Stay as safe as you can. I think the monsters might be done coming after you. But just to be safe, don’t go anywhere without some sort of protection. Once the monsters get the person they’re after, they’ll stop coming after your family. I think they may have got the person.” Riku stood up, and then Emily and Bethany did the same.

“We have to leave now. There’s some stuff we need to get done.” Emily said, sensing that Riku was ready to leave. “Well, it was nice meeting you all. Emily, tell your mom I said hello.” Mrs. Davis said. “I will.” Emily said as she walked out the door after Bethany and Riku. “Bye.” Mrs. Davis said with a smile. “Bye.” Bethany and Emily answered back. Riku waved slightly and started walking down the street.

“Well, what now?” Bethany asked Riku as she kicked tiny rocks on the sidewalk. “We have to find Dane. He’s got Anna.” “Dane? Who’s that?” Emily asked. “A guy that used to be Anna’s friend. But, he recently attacked my friends and me, and he caused on of them to almost die. And he’s taken Anna, twice now. We thought he was dead, but he’s not, apparently.”

“Who are your friends?” Bethany asked. “A guy named Sora, and a girl named Kairi. Anna, too, but Dane didn’t try to hurt her.” Riku answered. “Which one of them almost died?” Bethany asked. Riku rolled his eyes. He hoped she didn’t always ask this many questions. “Kairi. She actually did die. Sora revived her with CPR the first time, and then the people at the hospital revived her the second time.” He explained. “Did the people at the hospital use CPR?” Bethany asked.

“Does it even matter, Bethany?!” Emily said. Bethany shrugged. “No, it doesn’t. Stop asking so many questions, or you’re going to drive him crazy!” Bethany thought for a moment. “Why won’t I drive you crazy if I ask more questions?” Emily sighed heavily. “I’m too used to your constant question-asking.”

“Riku, do you have any idea where Dane is?” Emily asked. He sighed inside. This was the worst part of everything right now. “No. I don’t know where he is.”

“Anna? Are you alright?” Dane asked when he saw her start to open her eyes. She opened her eyes all the way and saw that he was holding her up, and she was leaning against him. “Let go of me.” She murmured as she pushed out of his arms and away from him. He looked down. “Sorry, I just, didn’t know what was happening to you, and…did you have a dream?” Anna nodded. “You were out for a while. What happened?” Anna looked at the ground.

Anna was confused. Why did Dane sound so concerned about her? She knew he liked her, and that’s why she was here instead of with Riku. But normally, in that kind of situation, the guy in Dane’s place wouldn’t care for the girl in this way. The guy in Riku’s place would. But Riku did care for her like that, and a lot more. “Anna?” She looked up and saw Dane waiting patiently for a reply. She didn’t see the Dane that caused Kairi’s death; the Dane that didn’t care what happened to her friends. She saw the Dane that she used to know; the Dane that was her friend, and he seemed to really care for her. She didn’t know what to think of him now.

They were outside, and it was nighttime. She looked around and saw that they were on a hill. There was a large, full moon, and there were stars everywhere. They were the only things giving light to the area. She couldn’t see anything that looked familiar. She could only see a small town, farther off. It was dimly lit, and looked to be pretty far away. She tucked some of her hair behind her ear to keep it from blowing in the wind. The wind was blowing just enough to blow her hair around every few seconds.

“Anna? Are okay?” She shook out of her trance and looked away with a hurt expression. But inside, she wasn’t only feeling hurt, she was feeling confusion. She didn’t know what Dane was even going to do with her, but she wasn’t scared of him now. She was just, confused.

Dane saw that she wanted him to leave her alone. He stood up and turned around so she couldn’t see that he was biting his lip. It hurt him to see her like this; her not wanting anything to do with him. “Anna, I know you…you don’t feel the same way about me as I feel about you, but…” He glanced over his shoulder and looked at her. “…Maybe, we can start over. Forget everything we’ve said and done since we saw each other in that hospital. Could you do that?”

Anna was really confused now. She had no clue whether he was her friend or her enemy. He didn’t seem to be much of a villain now, but, she new he could just be trying to trick her. “Even if we forgot about all that, it’s not going to make it all go away, is it?” She said. Her voice sounded different than normal. She sounded sad, hurt, and calm, all at the same time.

“I guess not. But, can’t we just, start over?” Dane sounded nervous and a little hurt. “You tried to kill my friends. You caused one of them to get killed. You kidnapped me twice. Why, Dane? Why are you doing this?” Her voice sounded hurt, calm, and determined now. Dane turned around and saw that she was looking up at him with piercing eyes. “Because, Anna…I didn’t want to hurt them…I had to. Anna, I…I care about you, a lot. Why is that so wrong?” Dane sounded sincere.

“It’s not wrong that you care about me. It’s wrong that you’ve let it come to this. Why’d you have to hurt them, Dane? No one made you.” She stood up and crossed her arms; not like she was upset, but just to rest them. “My masters, all they ever wanted for me, was to kill your friends. One of them wanted me to kill you too, and the other would have wanted the same, but he never knew about you.” Dane said, honest as ever.
