OK, time for comments.

The idea is an OK one for a fanfiction; however, I find the massive number of characters slightly confusing. If you want to pull of an idea like this one, however, do not name the enemy group "Order of Shadows". Search up "Latin-English dictionaries" and find the word for "order" and "shadows". Then simply combine them. Latin names are kool, plus it adds a flair of originality to the work. Even combining Latin with other different language words for the name of an organization is good.

Although I'm not completely against made-up/original meetings in fanfictions, people with THAT many Keyblades seems slightly ridiculous in my mind. Not everyone has to have a Keyblade to fight the Heartless or Nobodies.

Which brings me to the idea; Half-Hearts. It's a bit cliche in my mind, but that's your fanfiction. I, personally, would love to see some extra villians that are not related to the Heartless or Nobodies directly; assassins, bounty hunters, murderers, etc. Just original characters with a little spark of personality that would make them remeberable. The same thing applies to heroes, too.

This is all constructive; I don't want to be taken for flaming. Flaming = bad. o-o

Hearts of Twilight Chapter 12

Xonic was sitting in the back of the gummi ship. He kept examining that engraving on his blade over and over again. No matter how hard he tried to comprehend the writing on his blade, they just couldn’t make sense. He looked at a crate of fruits next to him. He picked up an apple and began to eat. He figured some food could possibly jet start his rain to solve this puzzle. Once he reached the core of the apple, he realized something. In ‘Xonic’, he realized that all of the letters of ‘Nico’ were in his name, just mixed up with an ‘X’ added. Coincidence? He didn’t think so.

Femix was rather distraught at how Xonic was acting lately. First, he became angry ever since Elle was kidnapped. But, she noticed that he seemed to be extremely upset, sad, depressed, confused, angry, and curious about almost everything. Most of these feelings had actually just started, right after they defeated Mindonio.

Kuza looked over at Draco. “Is Xonic always like that?” she asked.

Draco shook his head. “He never used to be. But lately, nothing seems to be rather interesting to him. I just wish we could find out everything. I would ask, but, I don’t want to upset him further.”

Eclipse looked at the back, where Xonic was in his own state of mind. “He seems depressed. When did all of this start?”

Mega looked forward, being as he was driving the ship. “About a week ago. His friend betrayed him, he found out his brother was evil, and his girlfriend was kidnapped.”

“Wow. That’s a lot to handle in a short period of time,” Eclipse commented. She kept on looking back, feeling pity for Xonic.

Cloud, who was currently the navigator, said, “We should be landing in a few minutes, so, be ready.”

About a minute interval occurred before they arrived on a new planet. This world was a world of sadness, depression, and anguish, somewhat reflecting how Xonic was feeling. The sky was pitch black, with lightning striking every few minutes, followed by a scream. A scream of death.

They walked around a bit to see if they could find a town, or at least a village. After about twenty-five minutes, they heard swords clanging. A teenager with blonde hair and two swords was battling a man with black hair and also a member of the Order Of Shadows. From the moment of sight, Xonic realized who it was. Ross.

Xonic took out his new Ice Staff and slammed it into the ground, sending waves of ice propelling toward Ross. Ross was too busy attacking the boy to notice the attack until it came. He was sent flying in the air, almost completely frozen.

Xonic ran over toward the boy, about his age. “You okay?”

“I’m fine. He wasn’t too hard.”

“Who are you?” Femix inquired.

“I’m Javo.”

“Cool. I’m Mega. Those guys over there are Xonic, Femix, Draco, Kuza, Cloud, and Eclipse,” Mega replied.

Javo nodded, then shouted, “WATCH OUT!” Everyone looked behind them, only to see Ross attacking them. He threw his knives that were in between his fingers of his left hand and slashed them with his sword.

His knives pierced Femix, causing her to fall on the ground in pain for a moment. The slash would have only affected Xonic, but, he used his Light Shield, the shield he prefers to avoid using, and blocked the attack. Ross rebounded and jumped into the air, and created a blazing wall of fire surrounding himself and Xonic.

“Well, yet another one-on-one match, Xonic. Where’s your little girlfriend?”

“Shut up!” Xonic yelled at the top of his lungs. He lunged at Ross, piercing him in the arm, not allowing him to use his right arm for battle. Ross was bleeding profusely, and, he switched his blade from right hand to his left.

A dark portal appeared, and a woman was leading everyone Xonic’s group left behind out of the portal. Xonic immediately recognized this woman. He remembered when she created a portal leading them back to the gummi ship after his previous battle with Ross.

“Naomi… been a while.”

The woman nodded. “It has been a while, Ross. Since you abandoned me for the darkness.” She took out a massive staff and began to impair Ross with it. She just kept hitting him to her heart’s content. After about five minutes, Ross fell to the ground in utter despair.

“NO! I can’t lose… I can’t die,” Ross said.

“Everyone dies,” Mega screamed as he jumped over the barrier of fire and stabbed his Ice Blade into Ross, finishing him off. Ross laid there, lifeless, on the ground. His body seemed to instantly decompose into the ground.

Xonic looked at Naomi, “You know him?”

“He is my ex-husband. He left me for the darkness,” she said, lowering her head. “I’ve seen you before, with my daughters, Elle and Princess. Where are they?”

“They were kidnapped. We couldn’t stop the abduction,” Xonic said, tearing up a bit. “I vowed not to stop until they are freed by the Order of Shadows. I won’t give up.”

Naomi was taking something from behind her cloak. She tossed him a cloak and a pouch of gil. “The cloak will disguise you. Take the gil also. Buy some weapons for yourself. You will need them,” she ended. She took out multiple cloaks to the group of warriors.

“There’s a town that-s-way,” Javo said.

“What are we waiting for? Let’s go,” Ray implied enthusiastically.

They ran over in the direction to the town. After it approached in the horizon, they noticed a large castle.

“Let me guess… the base of the order?” Dark said.

Javo nodded. “Yes. There once was a resistance against them. Almost all died, except myself. I managed to escape unwounded.”

After about 15 minutes, they reached the town. It was almost lifeless. No one noticed a cloaked figure following them in the shadows.

Xonic walked into a shop filled with weaponry. He took out his pouch of gil, and started to browse around. He picked up a set of chakrams, a pair of laser guns that could be wrapped around his arms, and a Lightning Boomerang. He walked over toward the cashier and purchased the three items, still having about half of the gil remaining. He tossed the remaining gil toward Draco, who distributed the rest fairly to the non-Keyblade wielders.

As they left the shop, they heard a devious laugh.

“Who was that?” Draco questioned. There was no answer, only a continued laugh getting higher and higher.

They didn’t know this at first, but it was Bleh. he jumped down from the top of a two story building and landed right in front of Xonic. “Well, well, well, looks like you’ve found your way here, but, a little too late to save your friends.” He snapped his fingers and a cage appeared, containing Elle and princess, who were tied up and with tape over their mouths.

“What have you done to them?” Xonic asked.

“Nothing, but, they could die at any second.”

Bleh snapped his fingers again, turning the scenery into a forest with a river flowing near by. Only Bleh, the cage holding the girls hostage, Xonic, Femix, Cloud, and Mega were there.

Bleh took out his Keyblade and spun it around proudly. “Ready for your fate?”

Pretty good chapter, although it feels...rushed to me, a slight bit.
My only advice is, try to read it for yourself and maybe tone down the speed at which events move.

Otherwise, it's pretty good.

Hearts of Twilight Chapter 13


Bleh leaned against a tree. “This isn’t like the olden days, buddy. This is a life or death matter. Or for you, DEATH!”

Bleh stabbed his Keyblade into the ground and turned. A sudden line of trees began growing toward Xonic, but, these trees weren’t like ordinary trees. They were petrified trees, unable to be harmed by any magic of any element.

A tree shot Xonic right up in the air. As he was high up, he withdrew his Dark Blade and Twilight Mystery. He threw them down at the ground, creating a dark aura around the whole battlefield. He landed down on the ground and charged up at Bleh, slashing him harshly.

Bleh was knocked back into a tree, but he rebounded off the tree and flew right at Xonic, attacking him with his Keyblade.

Xonic was forcefully thrown back about 100 yards. He managed to gain his momentum in the air and he summoned a path of solid ice with his Ice Staff. As he was on his ice path, he withdrew his Earth Knives and began throwing them at Bleh and the ground around him, creating large pillars of rock that began ascending and descending. Bleh was on one of the descending pillars, sending him down into the ground. Xonic’s path of ice was heading down to the bottom of the chasm, ready to attack his foe.

Bleh looked up to see Xonic coming toward him. Bleh threw his Keyblade up at the ice Xonic was right over, disrupting the ice’s path and sending Xonic barreling down.

“Where are your friends now, Xonic?” Bleh asked.

“They should find us soon,” Xonic replied as he slashed Bleh.

The sound of clanking blades was heard throughout the forest. There was no sound of screams from being slashed.

Femix, Draco, Mega, and Cloud were trying to scout the location that they were fighting. They were having no such luck, unfortunately.

“We need to find them, before it is too late,” Femix worried.

Cloud nodded, “We will find them. I know it.”

Clanking blades were still heard. That was the only sound they could hear, other than the chatter of woodland creatures and their scurries from their homes, avoiding the fight.

Xonic was slashing Bleh at every opportunity he had, but, Bleh would still block every shot. Bleh blocked a slash with his Keyblade, and reflected the blade of Xonic away. Xonic was astounded. The blade that went flying was the Dark Blade, his most powerful blade. He took out his chakrams he had bought at the shop, and tied the laser guns to his wrists.

Xonic threw one chakram back and forth for a moment. Water was that power. He did the same with the other, acquiring the power of wind and air.

Xonic threw the chakrams at Bleh, dousing him with the water element. Xonic then jumped up and over Bleh, shooting the laser guns at him. Direct hit. Bleh hit the ground for a moment. He rebounded back up, scanning the area for Xonic. Nothing yet.


Xonic was darting throughout the entire forest. He couldn’t find his blade. No luck.

A sharp object was hurtling toward the group looking for the fight. It just missed Cloud by an inch.

“What was that?” Cloud asked.

Femix picked it up and examined it. “Xonic’s blade. He is in trouble. Split up. We may have a better chance of finding them. Now!”

Femix began running in search for them, while the others did the same, only in opposite directions.

Xonic was still searching for his blade. He found nothing. Except he ran into Bleh.

“Well, running form a battle, I believe. What a coward,” Bleh said proudly while he slashed Xonic horizontally with his Keyblade. Xonic went hurtling backwards and hit a tree in pain.

Xonic grabbed his chakrams. He threw them both simultaneously at Bleh, piercing him brutally.

Bleh looked at Xonic. “Figures. You rely to much on your weapons.”

“No I don’t. Weapons are important.”

“To you, maybe. But, there are more important things.”

Femix approached them at great speed. Once she caught up, she threw Xonic’s blade into Xonic’s hands. Xonic dropped the chakrams and began to dominate this sequence of events over Bleh.

Bleh was brutally injured. “See. Weapons are where your strength comes from.”

Xonic growled loudly and began slashing Bleh without end, but, Bleh blocked every slash.

Bleh held up his Keyblade to the air. A mystical wind began to flow around the blades. All of a sudden, two Keyblades appeared. Xonic backed away for a moment. “How… how did you do that?”

Bleh got an evil look in his eye. “Skill.” Bleh swung both blades at Xonic continuously. Xonic was being destroyed by these blows. He couldn’t stop any of them.

One last blow came, sending Xonic back many feet.

Femix began running toward Xonic to assist him… and to save him.

“This is your demise, Xonic,” Bleh said, swinging his blades, now sharp and unstoppable.

Femix dove in front of the slash to save Xonic. It would’ve been completely successful, but, she blocked with something other than her sword.

She had blocked this with her body. She hit the ground heavily, her heart rate decreasing rapidly.

“Hehehe…” Bleh laughed maniacally as he snuck his way away from the battlefield.

Xonic got up. He didn’t see what happened, but he knew once he took a look at Femix’s body, almost completely lifeless. “Femix… can you hear me?”

Femix opened her eyes slightly. “Barely.”

“Why, why did you sacrifice your self?” Xonic asked.

“To save you… to save the universe. I know you can save all of the worlds. All of us. You have the best chance,” she answered.

“No, I can’t… I’m, I’m weak. I rely too much on weapons,” Xonic said.

“Xonic, don’t listen to Bleh. he is clouding the truth from your mind,” Femix said. Her voice was dying. “Please, I hear a river flowing. Let my final moments end there.”

Xonic picked up Femix. She seemed to be only dead weight. He began to run in the direction of the river.

Cloud, had freed Elle from her cage. “You ok?” he asked.

“I think so,” Elle answered.

Mega and Draco began to dash toward them. “Quick, Femix is dying.”

“C’mon,” Cloud ordered to Elle. Elle nodded and began to follow Cloud, Mega, and Draco.

The four reached the river, just as Xonic was delivering out Femix’s request to die on the riverbank.

Xonic put Femix down. “I will always miss you… You seem to be the only one to understand me,” Xonic said.

“Xonic, take my sword. It will help you. Also, I know how to figure out your dream you had in Halloween town. The ‘X’ in your name. It is like mine. Xonic, we were both…” Femix’s voice began to fade away, an dshe was steadily dying. “Bye, Xonic. Never forget…”

Those were the last words to leave her lips. Xonic looked up at the sky. Raindrops began to fall cross the land. The trees were fading away, as well as the lifeless body of Femix. Luckily, the rain covered up the tears Xonic was letting loose. He felt a sudden pain deep within. An indescribable pain.

“Xonic… are you feeling okay,” Elle asked while running up to hug him.

“Xonic stared into the northern horizon, where the lightning bolts were coming from. “I’ll be fine, once I get my vengeance on Bleh, Dartanian, the whole entire Order of Shadows. I vow that I will not rest until I destroy them all. Every last one of them.”

Xonic began darting to the north, never looking back at the land where his friend took her final breaths. Looking onward to the next few fights in the next few hours of his life. Hopefully, not his last fight, though.
