Chapter 24

Xonic swiftly scaled the side of the castle to check out the damage on his friends. None of them had died, luckily, which relieved Xonic a great deal. They were all injured though. Xonic, who isn't necessarily the best with injuries, had to leave i up to Mega once he comes back from nursing Draco to consciousness.

Xonic looked down below from the balcony. A sudden force climbed into his body. He suddenly collapsed, falling into a bizarre sort of trance.

He looked around. He was in a world of darkness. He knew that this time, he was visioning the Realm of Darkness. He saw the life force of Dartanian, which brought him there for one last confrontation.

"Xonic... please save me..." Dartanian muttered weakly.

"You don't deserve it. Besides, you're dead. You can't do crap ever again," Xonic chuckled.

"I have one last bit of magic in me..." Dartanian muttered. He Pointed his finger at Xonic, and uttered a few inaudible words. Xonic suddenly felt lightheaded, and he started to walk like he was under the influence. "Don't think you've seen the last of me..." Dartanian said as he faded away.

Xonic shook his head and clutched it. "Good riddance," he shouted. He tried to think of a way to awake from the slumber, and suddenly another familiar figure come toward him. It was Femix.

"So, you're back here again?" Femix chuckled.

"For now," Xonic said.

"I can't believe I'm done for..." Femix cried. "Is there some way you can resurrect me?"

"I'll try. Do you know what Dartanian did to me just a moment ago?" Xonic asked.

"As a part of the life stream, I don't think it'd be right to tell you exactly what he did. But, I'll tell you to be careful and to always, ALWAYS be good to your friends, especially Draco and Elle. They will always be tehre for you if you are there for them. If you don't, you'll never be the same," Femix warned.

"Gotcha. Can you wake me up somehow?" Xonic asked.

'Sure. But, it'll take a while. I have to go now. Business to attend to," Femix said.

"What kind of business do you have to do? You're dead," Xonic said. But, Femix was gone.

~TWILIGHT TOWN~

Xonic opened up his eyes. He was in a hospital bed.Frightened, he ran into the hallway to see Elle. He wrapped his arms around her and gave her alittle kiss. "How long have I been out?" Xonic asked.

"About a week," Elle said.

Xonic looked around. "Where's Draco?" he questioned. "Did he die too?"

Elle laughed a bit. "No, Draco's not dead. He's in worse shape than Mega suggested, though. He can't remember a thing. TRhe doctor said it's best for his family to take over for awakening him and helping him regain his memory," Elle explained.

Mega walked down the hallway. "'Ey, Xonic. Good to see you awake man. Feeling okay? Glad to be back at home?"

"I'm feeling good I guess. A little dizzy and light headed," Xonic said. He rethoguht what Mega said. "Home?!? How? i thought Dartanian destroyed it."

"He did. But every thing's fine now. With Dartanian dead and his body vanished, everything is coming bac. there are still parts of the universe that are being revived, like many parts of Twilight Town need," Mega explained.

"Okay. But what exactly was wrong with me?" Xonic asked yet again.

Mega took out a piece of paper with hte diagnosis on it and read it aloud. "You had severe blood loss from the battle with Dartanian, a severe concussion, extreme dizziness, and there's something unknown in your body. But don't worry about that, it doen't matter whatsoever. It poses no threat.But, you're finally a hero. People have heard of your heroic efforts to save them."

"I don't care about the fame. I just want Draco to be okay..." Xonic moped. He kicked a chair a few times in a bit of a fit. "Is tehre a way I can see him atleast?"

"Well, he's in Room 107 right now. His parents are in there and he's asleep. I'm sure you can go now," Mega said.

Elle picked up Xonic's hands and held it. "I'll go with you. I have a feeling you'll get a bit emotional when you see him."

They walked hand in hand toward Room 107, just down the hallway. Draco was asleep like was said, and his parents were in there visiting him. Xonic couldn't believe the state Draco was in. His pulse was low, there were cuts all over from head to toe, he had a broken wrist, a swollen eye, and he had a surgery on his heart. He knelt by his bedside and just broke down, while Draco's parents's eyes began to water with tears.

"You okay?" Mrs. Carvall asked.

"No. I can't be. Draco's in major pain and I feel to blame. I could've saved him from the fall. I just couldn't get there in time. That's two friends that've been screwed over because I was too slow," Xonic said. "I'm no hero."

"Yes, you are. Everyone appreciates what you did for them," Mr. Carvhall said. "I appreciate. My wife appreciates it. And I'm sure Draco will once he is out of his coma. I'm also sure he'd want you to have this." Mr. Carvhall pulled a gem out of his pocket. "It was found inside Draco's body somehow. We don't know what it. Do you want it so you'll have a part of Draco at all times?"

"Most definitely. Can I come and visit him again once I cheer up?" Xonic asked.

"Draco's going to be going through more tests and operations. The doctor said no visitors after today, including us. I'm sorry," Mrs. Carvhall said.

Xonic felt his world crashing down instantly. Guilt overwhelmed him as he held Draco's hand in hiss. He broke out in more tears. Elle Came up behind him and gave him a hug of comfort. "Don't worry, he'll be fine. Now, let's get you out of the hospital," she said. "You're ready t obe released.

"Hold on, just another moment," Xonic insisted.
