Hearts of Twilight Chapter 11


Xonic grabbed the rod and put it away for safe keeping. Taking this weapon, he felt more like a bounty hunter than a warrior. Mindonio’s staff was just so interesting. Then, he had a vision. A vision of betrayal. He started having a bizarre headache. Clutching his head, he fell to the ground in pure agony.

~FLASHBACK~

Xonic was having a flashback into his past. He could see an older woman, an older man, and a male child. The woman had luscious blonde hair and pure blue eyes. The man was rough looking, with black hair and green eyes ,with a five o’clock shadow. The boy had short blonde hair and green eyes.

“Where do you think you’re going?” the woman asked.

The man looked at her as he was about to leave in a gummi ship. “Away. Away from you and this wrecked place of eternal twilight.”

“Okay then. But, why are you taking Dartanian?”

“So I have company. I am sick of you. Dart is the only one who listens to me.”

The boy looked at the mom with his devious green eyes. Xonic could tell it was his brother. That this was his family.

FAMILY. The one thing he truly never knew about until he met his evil brother once again.

“I’m taking Dart. You can have Nico,” the father said as he and Dartanian stormed into the gummi ship and took off.

The mother looked at the sky for a few moments, then she collapsed in grief. She looked toward a toddler in despair.

~END OF FLASHBACK~

Xonic looked up at the dark sky of this world. Thoughts about this flashback to his deep past intrigued him as they flew about his head. Why did Dartanian and his father leave? And who was Nico? Were Xonic and Nico the same being? Why doesn’t he remember his father or mother at all? He recognized the faces somehow, but, he couldn’t figure out where he had seen these faces before.

He examined his blade for a moment, hoping it was a link to his past. There was a small glare as he read an engraved message on his blade. It read, ‘Nico. Memories of the past. Forgotten. Xonic.’

His eyes started to tear up a bit. Forgotten. One word that stuck in his head above all others. He wondered if his mother had forgotten him, or if she just disappeared.

Femix noticed Xonic, alone, on the ground covered in the dust from the fight with Mindonio. “You ok?” she asked.

Xonic looked up. Words could not describe the memory he had just regained. “I’m…I’m fine. Just very confused. Confused about my past.” He stood up and walked over to the gummi ship. “C’mon, guys. Let’s leave. We have no more business on this world.”

Kuza and Eclipse came running up to them as the group was about to depart for new worlds. “Wait, we want to go with you. This world, it’s just too concealed,” Kuza said.

Draco looked at Xonic and Cloud. “I don’t see why not. They could help us out aa bit.”

Cloud nodded. “They can help, as long as they don’t slow us down.”

They departed Halloween Town in the ship, not knowing when they would land on new grounds of a new world.

Yes homework is so annoying...I have 3 assignments due on Friday!! But Friday is also the lat day of term for me....TWO WEEKS HOLIDAYS!!!

OK, time for comments.

The idea is an OK one for a fanfiction; however, I find the massive number of characters slightly confusing. If you want to pull of an idea like this one, however, do not name the enemy group "Order of Shadows". Search up "Latin-English dictionaries" and find the word for "order" and "shadows". Then simply combine them. Latin names are kool, plus it adds a flair of originality to the work. Even combining Latin with other different language words for the name of an organization is good.

Although I'm not completely against made-up/original meetings in fanfictions, people with THAT many Keyblades seems slightly ridiculous in my mind. Not everyone has to have a Keyblade to fight the Heartless or Nobodies.

Which brings me to the idea; Half-Hearts. It's a bit cliche in my mind, but that's your fanfiction. I, personally, would love to see some extra villians that are not related to the Heartless or Nobodies directly; assassins, bounty hunters, murderers, etc. Just original characters with a little spark of personality that would make them remeberable. The same thing applies to heroes, too.

This is all constructive; I don't want to be taken for flaming. Flaming = bad. o-o
