OK I'M BACK!!!! And I think I said I'd have at least two chapters for you. Well, I kinda lied. Except I really did hope I would have 2...but I got writer's block. It's gone now though. But I have one chapter that I will post...now

Chapter 2 - Lftoff

Dear King Mickey,

Riku looked at those three words written on the piece of paper. He needed to think of something to write. But what? Riku sighed. Running away was harder than he thought. Was it this hard last time? he thought to himself. He looked up at the calendar in his room and looked at today’s date, April 8th. He read the words written in that square. Finish health assignment. Beside that square, on April 9th, it said: Health assignment. Due today.

Oh crap, he thought. Then he looked two weeks below. Monday, April 23rd. Kairi’s birthday. Then it hit him. Riku hadn’t seen King Mickey and the others for ages. Neither had Sora or Kairi. What better way to get together with them on Kairi’s 16th? Riku grabbed his pen and continued writing.

It’s been a while since we last saw you guys. And seeing as it’s Kairi’s birthday in two weeks, Sora and I have been planning a surprise party for her. And we’d like you, Donald, Goofy and Queen Minnie to be there. And anyone else you’d like to bring along. We’ll see you then!

Riku and Sora.

Riku read what he had just wrote, realising that a part of him really wanted a surprise party for Kairi. But he knew he couldn’t. Because although a part of him loved Sora to death, another part wanted him to be the cause of death. And then there was a part of him that wondered if the part that wanted Sora dead was actually himself.

***
It was a curriculum day, so no-one had school. Tidus and Wakka were playing with Wakka’s blitzball on the beach when a large, crimson airship caught their eyes. It was heading for the beach, just a few metres from where they were standing. They watched in awe; too busy to notice the ball rolling away towards the water.

Selphie appeared from the bushes. She saw the ship, but wasn’t really interested in it. Then she saw the ball out about 5 metres from the shore in the water.

“Um, guys, your ball’s getting washed out to sea,” Selphie called out to the boys. But as they were still watching the ship in their lovestruck trance, Selphie took of her yellow dress to reveal a pale pink triangle bikini with cute bows. She entered the water, feeling the cold icy sting, and swam out to retrieve the ball.

Sora heard all the noise from the tree house, and looked out the window. He spied Donald and Goofy’s gummi ship. Laughing out loud in excitement, he ran outside of the tree house, to the ladder and jumped down the ladder. He sprinted to the gummi ship, just as the door was opening.

“Get off my foot! Ouch! Hey, what’s the big idea?” came a familiar, barely comprehendible voice from the doorway. Sora instantly recognized the voice as Donald’s. Pushing Tidus and Wakka out of the way, he ran to the door and waited slightly impatiently for the dust to clear. In the middle of the doorway was Donald, arms crossed and pouting, behind him a slightly apologetic Goofy.

“Well I’m sorry, but you didn’t have to yell at me like that,” Goofy said to his feathered friend.

“You didn’t have to flick me in the head though!”

“You didn’t have to get angry like that!”

“Come on, you should expect from me by now! We’ve known each other forever, you big palooka!”

“Cut it out!” Sora shouted, but he couldn’t help but laugh at his friends. He ran up to them and hugged them.

“Wha?” Donald yelled. He wasn’t expecting this sudden outburst of emotion.

“Hey, I haven’t seen you in ages! I’m allowed to hug you, right?” Sora laughed. He could never stop laughing around Donald and Goofy.

By this point, Selphie was back from retrieving the ball that Tidus and Wakka almost lost because of their stupidity and had joined the foolish boys. But all three of them were confused at Sora, Donald and Goofy. Somehow they didn’t understand those three goofballs.

Riku walked over from the other side of the beach, saw the gummi ship, and ran towards them.

“Hey Riku! Catch!” Wakka called out. He took his blitzball from Selphie’s arms and threw it towards Riku. Despite getting little warning, Riku caught the ball with ease, and threw it back at Wakka. But seeing as Wakka didn’t expect Riku to catch it, he didn’t expect it back. So he got hit in the head with the ball.

“Ow! That really hurt! You been practicing, ya?” Wakka asked. Sora, Donald and Goofy ran over to Riku and greeted him.

“Hey guys! Where’s the king?” Riku asked Donald and Goofy.

“He’ll be out soon,” Goofy answered. Lowering his voice, he whispered, “Where’s Kairi?”

“It’s ok, she’s out shopping,” Riku replied. “Now let’s start planning for her party!” He had told Sora about Kairi’s party, so he knew.

“But where’s the King?” Sora asked. He was getting impatient. The longer it took him to get out, the less time they had to plan a party for Kairi. And Sora wanted it to be perfect. For Kairi.

“Hey Mickey! Get out here now!” Donald yelled.

“Gawrsh Donald, show some respect,” Goofy said to his pal. He then turned to Sora and Riku and asked, “Who are they?”

“Oh, those are Selphie, Tidus and Wakka,” Sora replied, pointing to each of them as he introduced them.

“Hello,” Selphie said. “Sora, would you mind telling us who they are?”

“Oh, sorry,” Sora grinned. “These are Donald and Goofy. And I’m sure you know Riku!”

“That’s…not funny,” spoke a voice from behind them.

“Hi Kairi!” Selphie called out to her.

Sora, Riku, Donald and Goofy turned around and saw the red-haired girl standing behind them, smiling.

“Kairi! You’re supposed to be shopping!” they said in unison.

“Shops were closed. Why do you care so much?” Kairi was starting to get suspicious.

“Uh, no reason!” Sora replied, a little too quickly.

“Right…it’s nice to see you!” Kairi moved on to welcoming Donald and Goofy. “How are things back at Disney Castle?”

“Everything’s fine!” Goofy replied. “But we thought we’d come here for a few weeks to catch up with you guys.”

“Is the king here too?” Kairi asked.

“Yes, but he’s still in the ship.” Donald turned to the gummi ship. “Hey Mickey! What are you doing in there?”

“Is the queen here too?” Sora asked.

“Yep!” Goofy replied. He was getting excited, but no-one could see why. Sora and Kairi grinned mischievously.

“Ew, that’s disgusting!” Donald yelled.

“I never knew you two had sick minds!” Riku teased.

“Well you were quick to assume,” Kairi defended, “so you’re just as bad!”

“Ok, we all have dirty minds,” Donald said, “now will someone get the king and queen?”

“But what if they really are- ow!” Sora was cut off by Riku hitting him in the head. “What was that for?”

“Don’t say it. No-one wants that mental image,” Riku laughed. For some reason, he suddenly felt more at ease with Sora. He couldn’t explain why. But he wasn’t complaining. Maybe his jealousy had passed. Or maybe when he hit Sora in his head he somehow managed to slightly satisfy his extreme feelings. But if that was the case, Riku thought, he only had a limited amount of time until the feelings came back. So he decided he would stay for a while. Until he hated Sora again. Then he’d leave. Or he’d just hit Sora in the head again.

***
It was tea time, and Sora, Riku, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, Mickey, Minnie, Selphie, Tidus and Wakka were all crowded in the tree-house, eating a meal prepared by the three girls. After Mickey and Minnie finally came out of the gummi ship, because they were dragged out by Donald, it was time to make dinner. Everyone had tried to help, but when Donald and Goofy started having a food fight; Sora and Riku started wrestling; and Tidus and Wakka started playing ball; Mickey threw them all out of the kitchen. He then followed them to “keep an eye on them.” They ended up planning for Kairi’s surprise party while she cooked with Minnie and Selphie.

They all sat in a circle, slightly squashed, eating jelly. They had finished the delicious chicken and Yorkshire pudding earlier and moved on to the dessert.

“Wow, Selphie, I never knew you could cook,” Wakka said to Selphie.

“I did most of it,” Kairi boasted. “Selphie just stood around most of the time!”

“That’s not true! Queen Minnie did all of it!” Selphie yelled.

Riku laughed. Kairi and Selphie were always fighting like this. It’d start off verbal, then they’d start finger-fighting, then they’d collapse on the ground in a fit of giggles. Riku looked over at the pair, and wasn’t disappointed to see the expected fit of giggles.

They finished their jelly, and it was up to Sora and Riku to wash the dishes. They went back up to Riku’s house, where most of the dishes actually belonged. Sora put the plug in the sink and turned on the water as Riku got the washing detergent. He squirted it in the hot water. Sora and Riku both grabbed a tea towel each and started washing the bowls and plates from dinner. Luckily, Riku’s kitchen sink was big so no-one got crowded.

“Can you believe Kairi’s turning sixteen?” Sora asked Riku after a moment’s silence.

“I know. She’s as old as us now!” Riku replied. Sora’s birthday was exactly a month before Kairi’s.

“But not for long. You’re turning seventeen in July,” Sora told Riku.

“I think I know my own birthday,” Riku laughed. “I’m getting old though, aren’t I?”

Sora grinned. “Yeah, you’re so old you can’t walk without a cane!”

“Hey, that’s ageist! Not all old people need canes!” Riku splashed Sora with water from the sink.

“Right! That’s it!” Sora splashed Riku back. “Prepare to be soaked!”

Riku and Sora continued to splash each other until both were absolutely drenched in water and the kitchen was flooded.

“Oops,” Sora said, looking at the mess.

“Yeah, we better clean this all up before my parents get home!” Riku went to grab two mops. When he came back, he handed one to Sora and they started to mop up all the water on the floor.

“Um, Riku, don’t we need buckets?” Sora asked.

“No, we can use the sink!” Riku smiled at Sora.

“That’s a very creative way to get out of getting buckets,” Sora laughed. He went over to the sink and lifted the mop above it. He squeezed all the water out of the end.

About half an hour later, Sora and Riku had mopped up all the water from the kitchen floor and washed all the dishes.

“That was exhausting,” Sora said, breathing heavily.

“Yeah, I really wish my parents would get a dishwasher,” Riku agreed with Sora.

“But you’ve gotta admit, the water fight was fun,” Sora nudged Riku in the ribs.

“Ouch! I’m gonna get you for that,” Riku chased after Sora, hands ready to tackle him to the ground. Sora sprinted away into the lounge room, but Riku caught him and tackled him onto the couch.

“Got ya!” he yelled, grinning. Sora looked up at Riku, but noticed the strangest thing. His eyes weren’t their normal green, but they had a reddish tint to them.

“Sora, what’s wrong?” Riku asked, seeing the worried look on Sora’s face.

“Um, nothing!” Sora smiled awkwardly. “I’d better get home now! It’s nearly nine!”

Sora left, leaving Riku in the lounge room, confused.

***
Riku lay on his bed. It was almost midnight, but he didn’t feel like sleeping. He kept on thinking about how weird Sora had acted on the couch. He couldn’t help but wonder what was wrong. Did it have anything to do with him? Did Sora think that he was coming on to him? Or did he know about Riku’s jealousy problem? Even though he felt no jealousy now, did it still show? Riku closed his eyes, and finally went to sleep.

***
Riku stood in the secret place, waiting. He had his Way to Dawn in his hand, ready. He faced the entrance, just standing there. Then in walked Sora.

“So, you came at last,” Riku spoke in a voice very unlike his. It was a very deep growl.

“Why do you want me here?” Sora asked.

“Well, I have a little bone to pick with you,” Riku scowled. “Remember when we defeated Xemnas together?”

“Yeah…what about it?” Sora was starting to get a bit freaked out. Riku was acting very strange.

“Well don’t you think it’s a little unfair? We defeat him together, we save the worlds together, it’s a team effort, but you go around hogging all the praise and attention!” Riku shouted. “Where’s my thanks? Huh? Answer that for me!”

“Riku, it’s not about praise and recognition, it’s about doing a good deed,” Sora pleaded. “If you do it just so people like you, it’s not really a good deed!”

“Oh, so it’s ok for you to hog the limelight, but not me?” Riku asked.

“Riku, everyone got over that weeks ago! Now we’re just normal kids again!” Sora yelled back. “Look, can we not fight like this? What reason is there to get all angry?”

“What if I did something to change your mind?” Riku asked slyly.

“Like what?” Sora asked.

“Like kissing Kairi,” Riku replied, smirking.

“You son of a -“ Sora summoned his keyblade. “You know how much I like her and you just go and sleep with her?”

“What? Does that upset you?” Riku said, faking concern. Of course, he hadn’t done anything with Kairi. He only said that so Sora would get mad. And it worked perfectly. “Then why don’t you fight me for her?”

“If that’s what it takes, then fine!” Sora yelled. He charged at Riku, keyblade ready to lay the first blow. But even in his anger, he was too slow for Riku, prepared for the attack long ago. He lifted his Way to Dawn, and stabbed him through the chest.

“Riku…why did it have to come to this?” Sora asked, fading into death.

***
Riku suddenly awoke from his night. Did he just kill Sora in his dream? This could only mean one thing. The feelings were back. Now all that was left was what to do now. Run away, or hit Sora in the head? He knew that if he ran away, he’d have more time to get over his problem, but he promised himself he wouldn’t hide from anything anymore. He promised he’d face his fears like a man. But by hitting Sora in the head, the jealousy would only be kept at bay for a short time. But could it end up getting longer? By hurting Sora, was he helping himself, and, ultimately, helping him? And everyone else on the island?

It was too risky. He’d have to break his promise to himself. He’d have to run away.

***
Riku sat on the beach. It was only five o’clock in the morning, but Riku never got back to sleep. He kept on thinking about his dream, and how he was going to leave. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy were here with the gummi ship, so that was a start. All he had to do was sneak in and fly away when they weren’t in there. He was lucky it was a school day; the others were all too busy at school to stop him. He wouldn’t have to see the hurt in their faces when they leave.

But then it would hurt them more. They can’t even say good-bye.

They’d fall apart, Riku thought. They’d wonder why he’s not at school, only to discover he’d left. But he’s already running away from his jealousy, he thought. He might as well run away from saying good-bye. Because it hurts.

***
Five hours later, and he was ready. He went back home for breakfast and to pack up a few things. He had to wait until his parents left because the bags would give it away. Then he went to the tree house. He sat there and waited for his chance to hijack the gummi ship and fly away.

He kept a look-out on the ship. Then he saw what he had longed for. Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy were leaving the ship. He waited until they were out of sight. Then he made the strike. He headed for the gummi ship, bags in hand. When he put his bags away, he made his way to the cockpit and sat down. He looked at all the controls. Then it occurred to him he had no idea how to fly a gummi ship.

“Oh crap,” Riku thought aloud. He looked more closely, expecting the many buttons to tell him how to get this thing started. Deciding that he couldn’t figure it out by staring at them, he searched for a manual. Surely there must be a manual? But there wasn’t. So he could either just give up, or press a few buttons and hope that nothing blows up.

He pressed a large green button, figuring that it probably started it. Luckily for him, it did. He found the steering wheel, and tried to get the ship to somehow lift the ship up. It worked, but a little too well. He went soaring up into the air, losing control of the ship.

“Help!” he yelled out, but there was no point. No-one could hear him. He grabbed the steering wheel; turned it in every direction; desperately trying to regain control. But instead, he sent the ship spiralling down. Right into the sea, a few metres from the shore.

Riku tried to stop it, but in vain. There was no way to halt the inevitable crash. All he could do was sit as the ship fell down. He waited for the collision. It felt like hours. Then finally, suddenly, the smash. Riku heard loud bang, felt the shake, saw the splash of water over the cockpit window. He had blown his only chance of escape. And when Mickey and the others came back, there’d be hell to pay.

***

Well there it is! And I gave Kairi my birthday (which is in 10 days by the way, except I'm turning 15, not 16). Hope you likey, and sorry again for only writing one chapter when I promised 2. But you can either deal with it, or I won't write a sequel. And I'm already getting ideas for the sequel.

Thanks guys!

Oh and I wrote an alternate ending to chapter 2, cause when I was writing a particular moment I thought of something ILoveKH2ForLife said and I couldn't resist! The reason it's an alternate ending is because it kinda kills the story, and that can't happen after only 2 chapters lol. Oh and I didn't put the whole chapter before the alternate ending, cause there's really no point.

Chapter 2 - Hijack (yes I re-named it cause Liftoff doesn't suit this version)

“It’s nice to see you!” Kairi moved on to welcoming Donald and Goofy.

Then suddenly, out of nowhere, ILoveKH2ForLife appeared and pulled out a shotgun.

“Right! That’s it! All I asked is that you don’t harm a spikey hair on Sora’s head and you harm a whole bunch of them! Plus you harm his skull! You’re going down!” she screamed at Riku. She then shot him 200 times in the head.

Sora, Kairi, Donald, Goofy, Selphie, Tidus and Wakka all ran away. ILoveKH2ForLife disappeared; leaving Riku’s dead body lying on the ground; blood pouring out; turning the pale yellow sand a dark crimson.

***

Now you see why it's an alternate ending...and the reason why I wrote it because ILoveKH2ForLife said that if Riku harms a spikey hair on Sora's head she's hijacking my fic and killing him. Hence the name "Hijack". And this has nothing to do with the actual story...just something I couldn't resist doing:toungesmile:
