| They call me Mr. October | A while back I decided to stop doing whole fanfics, and just post random moments from the game. Anyway, my first in the line of 1 chapters is the battle between Roxas and Axel. I think this should have been the way it played out. Even though I liked it, it could have been better. So enjoy... Yes, I know it gets weak at the end. The XIIIth Struggle: “How’s it going ROXAS?!” A thoroughly pissed off Axel walks across from Boken. He could feel the anger radiate on his face. Axel stopped abruptly, across from his non-existing rival. “Axel” He paused. “That’s not my name! I don’t wanna be a part of your stupid organization. Stop calling me that!” Boken balled up his fists. “So.” Axel closed his eyes and ran his tongue across his teeth. “Where is Sora?” He asked calmly. His arms were folded across his chest. The boy eyed Axel carefully. There was a vein was bulging on Axel’s forehead. “You can’t see him.” He mocked Axel. “I guess that means you found him.” Axel tilted his head left, and cracked it. It rung loud through the near empty room. “Is he in there?” Axel now tilted his head to the right. He hinted at the door behind Boken. “Like I’d tell you!” Boken rolled his eyes at the question. They both sighed. “Well then… I guess we have a problem.” Axel finally turned to face Boken with his arms dropped to the side. “This is your first and last warning…MOVE!” Axel’s emerald green eyes focused on the blonde. They gave each other mean looks waiting for the other to move. Without hesitation, Boken stretched his right arm out. A light flashed in his hand. Instantly, where the flash of light was, a strange key shaped weapon appeared. The blonde boy proceeded to do the same with his left hand, until he held two Keyblades. He spun them around and crossed them in front. “Are you CRAZY?!” Axel slightly chuckled at the gesture. His face went to a surprised smile. The boy said nothing. Axel stretched his arms out to the side. With a burst of light, his trademark weapons, the Fire and Wind wheels burst into his hands engulfed in searing hot flames. They spun faster and faster until Axel finally caught them. He looked up at Boken and smirked evilly. A circle or flames shot up around the two as they prepared to battle. Axel laughed maniacally as he prevented Boken’s only means of escape. “BURN BABY!” He shouted as a wall of fire moved towards to boy. He looked for a way to avoid the wall. “OH CRAP!” He turned around, scanning the area simultaneously. “WALL KICK!” An image of Sora flashed in Boken’s mind. He ran at the wall full speed, and jumped. His foot secured a landing, and with all his might Boken thrust away. It seemed as if time had slowed down for them. Boken made his way over the wall of flames. “Wha?” Axel looked up to see the Keyblading teen coming at him swiftly. He threw his arms up to defend himself. “GET BACK!!!” Fire spewed from the wheels, spreading. Boken tried to defend himself quickly, but was hit by the flames. “Ahh…” He moaned in pain. Boken dropped the Oathkeeper in his left hand. “You can’t do anything in the air stupid. Think. Now COMMIT IT TO MEMORY.” Axel tapped the side of his head with his index finger. “AERIAL RECOVERY!” Another image of Sora flashed in the blonde’s mind. It was as if Sora was showing him how to bet Axel. Before he hit the floor, Boken side flipped to hit feet. “What a good move. I only saw that once before. Did he show it to you? Did you use his memories?” Axel was smiling again. “Come here, I’ll make it all better.” His smile faded and he launched the wheel in his right hand. Boken ran at Axel furiously. “CLINKKK!” The metallic sound of the Oblivion parrying away Axel’s weapon sang. “BLITZ!” Sora shouted. “BLITZ!” Boken and Sora shouted in unison. He leapt in the air a couple of feet over Axel. The pyro was unprotected as the Keyblade fell at him. Axel stretched his arm out, and his parried wheel was resummoned. Boken’s attack landed on a well-guarded Axel. “Looks like I wasn’t so helpless as you thought. If you wanna use someone else’s moves on me, make sure I haven’t seen em’.” He sent Boken flying back. “Someone else’s moves?” Boken thought. Even though Sora was helping him, it never occurred that they belonged to the brunette. “I AM ME! NOT SORA! I HAVE MY OWN HEART!” He shouted with a sad realization. “Maybe I am Sora…” “SLIDING DASH!” The two boys shouted simultaneously. Boken made a quick swipe with his Keyblade at the redhead. “Hey! Let’s play hide –n- Seek Sora!” Axel jumped behind his flames toying with the boy’s head. Boken could only look around trying to anticipate Axel’s next move. His eyes panned back and forth, trying to watch for even an ember out of place. “Peek-a-boo!” A voice called from behind him. Boken turned to find no one. “GOTCHA!” Axel slashed at him from behind. Boken tumbled across the room. His Oathkeeper Keyblade was sitting in front of him. “IT WON’T SAVE YOU!” Axel said from behind his wall. Boken grabbed it, and used Guard just as Axel came in for another attack. “So you’re not announcing your attacks now; very wise. At least you learned a valuable move copycat.” Axel and Boken stood across from each other again. “Now, here is where I distinguish myself from Sora.” Boken retreated to his thoughts. Axel could see that the boy was thinking, but he was confident that it wouldn’t help. So he waited. “So I take it you know Sora.” Boken dropped his guard to get Axel to spill. “You could say we…met.” Axel didn’t buy into his plan. He twirled his wheel in his right hand. “What’s he like?” Boken looked concerned. “He’s a cool kid. Not really my cup of tea. Now are we gonna fight, or are you gonna die?” Axel rambled in his usual manner. Axel dashed at Boken. Boken dashed at Axel. Weapons clanging. Sparks Flying. Axel started hacking away at Boken. He parried ever slash. Move for move they played. It was then he remembered something from earlier. “BLITZ!” Boken shouted. He jumped over Axel again, but Axel backed up to avoid the attack. He landed softly, and charged at Axel. The nobody, intrigued, jumped back into his circle of flames. Quickly, he scanned the area. “Are you slow, or just plain stupid? You already tried this!” Axel jeered from behind his wall. Boken turned around to where the voice came from. “Over here Sora!” Axel jumped out preparing to finish Boken off. “Doncha’ remember? You can’t do anything in the air stupid!” Boken turned and used Guard, sending Axel flying backward through the air. “So you learned, but not enough!” Axel swung the wheel in his left hand. Boken jumped up, and knocked the wheel away. Axel was finally unprotected. Boken swung the Keyblades down over Axel, sending him to the flood hard. Axel was dumfounded. “CLEAR LIGHT!” Boken said without Sora’s voice. He crossed the Oathkeeper and Oblivion, and landed on Axel’s chest. The light grew until even Boken was blinded. “Not bad kid.” Axel smiled, breathing hard as the light consumed him… When the light faded, Boken was on one knee breathing as hard as Axel. “One of your own huh?” Axel held his chest where his heart wasn’t. “Yeah.” Boken panted. “Fine, I’ll catch you guys later.” A portal of darkness opened behind Axel. He turned to step in, but Boken called him. “Hey Axel wait.” Even Boken couldn’t believe it. Axel turned back around to look at the boy. “Hey, if this was another story, do you think we could have been friends?” He looked up at Axel. He only laughed as the portal surrounded him. “Only if your name was Roxas!” His voice faded from ear. The flame walls died down, and subsided. Boken looked at the door, which led to Sora’s capsule. “Here I go.” He took a deep breath and walked… |
