A Shinobi's Last Hope [.::A Naruto Fan Fict::.]

I would first like to state that this is my first Fan Fiction, so it might not be that good, and such. I'll be starting with a Prolouge, to see if it hooks anyones attention, and if not, i'll stop it, other than that, off to the cast.

Chapter 1

The wind blew a cool, chilling breeze as the bright morning started. Many people from all around Konoha were aroused because of the many new Genin coming to Konoha, not to mention the exciting Chuunin Exams was in a few days as well. The Genin of Konoha trained for weeks for this event, yet only three of the brave teams would make it to the death-bound exams. Only few would pass the exams, while it was a fight for others just to survive. Most of the Genin were good as dead, but on the other hand, there were a few skilled Genin who deserved the title of "Chuunin."

[.::Near Konoha's Ninja Academy::.]

"When are the exams starting!? I got all ready for nothing it seems, and i've been training for two days straight!" Zaku yelled in frustration as he walked slowly behind the group. It seemed that Zaku was always ready to fight, yet with in battle, he would end up being the one hurt the most. Zaku was skilled, yet he acted like an idiot at the wrong times in battle.

"Hold your horses, the exams are in two days, can't you just wait? You're always so eager to mess up or something." Tsutira said in a huff as she followed behind Nakage, yet in front of Zaku. Tsutira was basically the brains of the group, and also had vast jutsus of her own. The way her skills balanced out, she could use her wits, and skills in battle both at once to render the opponent useless.

"Let's just continue to find Naruto sensei, i rather not mess up or get injured before the exams. You both know that we will have to be at our best if we wish to actually compete in the exam. And remember, Team 12 will win!" Nakage said with a grin as he walked with his companions up the road. He always seemed to be an up-beat guy who never truely got angry, unless his friends were hurt, or something with that matter. Even when it looks like Nakage will lose during battle, he ends up pulling through somehow.

[.::Near the Ramen Shop::.]

"But i want more Ramen! I barely got to finish my two bowls! C'mon! Lemme finish!" Ryu said with a glare in his eyes as he was being pulled away by his sensei, Sasuke. "Please! One more bowl!" Ryu yelled as he tried to pull away. It seemed like Ryu either wanted to eat, or be right in the depths of battle. It was funny, yet he was one of the best ninja in all of Konoha, even for a Genin.

"Will you just calm down? We need to train ourselves, right Sasuke-sensei?" Meilin said as she glared at Ryu. Meilin had a temper, yet she still was a good person. Overall she was an excellent ninja, and even with in battle she would use her temper to fight. It didn't seem like the smartest thing to do, but her temper actually increases her speed and strength.

"I'm with Ryu! More Ramen would be great! I've had this strong urge to eat for such a long time, nows my chance!" Chase said as he grimaced and started walking towards the Ramen stand, yet Sasuke grabbed him. "Well this sucks..." Chase murmered. Chase was another guy just like Ryu, yet he kind of followed Ryu. On the other hand, Chase used chakra more often then Ryu, and Ryu was more physical in battle.

[.::Near the Hokage's Building::.]

"Phew, the mission wasn't that bad, now was it?" Zan said with a grin. Zan was another one of those famous Konoha ninjas. He was skilled perfectly in chakra control, and also was very physical in battle. He made a few of his own jutsus, and is also known as the Kazekage's son. Overall, he is one tough ninja, and possibly the best rookie ninja, capable of taking out dozens of Genin.

"I actually thought that mission was fun! It got pretty tough, yet it was fun for the most part." Ino said quietly as she looked at Zan, and then her other companion, Neji. It was a weird team, yet they all leveled out. Ino was the smarts, and the healer of the team, Zan was the powerful member, and Neji was the one who was full of surprises.

"Let's train for a while before the exams start, you can never be too ready..." Neji stated as he looked around, seeing Sakura sensei. "Sensei's here as well, let's get ready for training before the exams..." Neji stated as he started walking away, since in two days the exams would start.

Next Chapter includes the very start of the exams, and the legendary ninja who are shone in the in the Chuunin Exams...

Chapter 2

[.::Two Days Later at Chuunin Exam Entrance::.]

"Will you just stop, Zaku? We just got here, and already this...? You're such a loser." Nakage stated in a bored-like tone.

Zaku was already basically in a fight with Ryu, and of course, was losing to quick moves. Zaku was resourceful, but as always, he was trying to impress everyone, yet his concentration was completely depleted. It seemed as if Zaku was only there to play, yet he didn't know the true dangers.

"Shut it Nakage, you couldn't do any better." Zaku said with a glare as he barely dodge a punch aimed for his face. Zaku flipped backwards and actually nailed his first hit, kicking backwards into Ryu's face.

"And i thought you were just a push over, hopefully it will get more interesting." Ryu stated quietly as he slid his foot under Zaku, tripping him, and then nailed a punch in his face. Immediatly after Zaku fell, Ryu jumped to punch Zaku, yet this time, Zaku used his head.

"Got ya." Zaku said as he held Ryu's fist, and threw him over as he jumped up. In an instant, they both went to punch each other, yet were pushed back in their tracks.

"Don't waste your energy." Nakage stated quietly as he held both of their fists. "We need to be at our fullest for the exams, and you two are wasting energy." Nakage said as he lightly pushed them both back, and Zaku gave a glare at Nakage, yet Ryu only laughed.

"Ha! I guess i'll just beat your team in the exams." Ryu said with a sneer as he ran off towards his team. Zaku then glared at him, but used his sense to walk back to Nakage and Tsutira.

Nakage let out a small sigh. "You could've done better if you concentrated." He said as he kept his eyes closed, and Tsutira just looked back and forth between Nakage and Zaku. "...But you actually did pretty good." Nakage said with a slight grin on his face.

"Really!? YES!" Zaku said as he jumped up, and Tsutira stared at him.

"You look like and idiot, and act like one." She stated quietly, and then turned as another team entered. "That's Team 17, Zandoram, Neji, and Ino...guess they're here as well." Tsutira said quietly as she looked at them enter. As soon as Ino entered, Tsutira instantly had a glare on her. Two rivals seemed like childs play, yet thier rivalary had followed them for a few years.

"Tsutira..." Ino said quietly.

"Ino..." Tsutira replied.

"Get ready, because i won't be going easy!" They both shouted at once.

"Girls..." Zan said with a sigh as he looked at Tsutira and Ino have their little 'chit-chat.' "Guess it comes natural..." He stated as more teams entered. It seemed as if there was already 40 teams, because there was a vast number of people. "Better get ready then..."

"We should be ready for anything." Neji replied to Zan as he leaned on a wall, scanning everyone around him to see who was the strongest. "It seems as if this years Chuunin Exams will truely be interesting, hopefully, i'll find a true challenge here." Neji said with a sneer as he continued his search.

"You two are so weird..." Ino said as she looked at Zan and Neji. "It seems as if you two never had any fun..." She said with a glare and then sighed. "Guess all men are this way..." Ino then turned her head to see Gaara. "Wow...that guy looks....cool..." Ino said as she stared at Gaara.

"We'll, this truely looks to be interesting, hopefully this whole exam will be something to remember, since i can clearly see that many of these Genin are strong enough to be a challenge." Nakage said to his team. "I guess this is the start of...The Chuunin Exams."
