Default KH2 (not really)

The last day of school was over for the teenagers on destiny island and all of them were excited about the summer, well except for one auburn haired girl.

Kairi sat one the beach looking out at the ocean and the setting sun. It had been one year since the door to Kingdom Hearts was sealed and the worlds were separated, along with her and the two most important people in her life. Sora whom she had loved since she had known him and Riku the boy who had been like an older brother always watching out for her to the point of losing his heart to darkness. Even though it had been a year she knew they would return because Sora had promised so and that was good enough for her.

She still looked the same as the last time they saw her with short auburn hair and blue eyes. She guessed this summer would be like the last with her sitting on the beach every day when the sun came up to long after it had set. She never went hungry since Selphie and Yuna would check up on her and bring her something for lunch only for it to be eaten long after they had gone.

While Kairi sat in the sand watching the sun go down Tidus, Wakka, Selphie, and Yuna looked at her from the dock all concerned for their friend who used to be so happy and full of life

“Déjà vu huh guys.” Tidus said

“Does she really still believe they’re coming back?” Wakka asked but was then hit in the face by his own blitzball courtesy of Selphie.

“Shut up, they’ve got to come back. She’ll be heart broken if they don’t.” Selphie told him

“I just wish there was something we could do for her, I feel really sorry for her.” Yuna said

“C’mon be for real, the only thing that could make Kairi happy is for Sora and Riku to come back. I wonder if that door in the secret place were open that we could go look for them.” Tidus said

“In that case there’s nothing we can do man, I mean we’ve tried cheering her up for a year now. It’s not that I don’t care about Kairi but it’s getting late and I have to head home.” Wakka said picking up his blitzball and walking away with Tidus behind him while the two girls stayed and watched one of their best friends wallow in her sadness.

“Hey Selphie look.” Yuna said pointing up at the sky. Blue stones of fire were falling from the sky. Yuna and Selphie looked away from the meteor shower down at Kairi again to watch her walking towards the secret place. The both of them looked at each other confused for a moment then ran after Kairi.

Meanwhile a brown spiky haired boy in Traverse Town was looking up at the sky silently thinking about a certain girl. It had been a year since he had last seen her and it was getting harder and harder to go from day to day.

“Hey Sora here you go bud.” Riku said to his younger friend handing him a soda.

“Thanks Riku.” Sora said taking the drink from his best friend

“Thinking about her again, aren’t you?” Riku asked taking his own can away from his mouth

Sora sighed and said, “Yeah, I can’t stop thinking about Kairi and home. It’s so damn frustrating; I mean we haven’t seen the heartless since we left that strange castle a year ago.”

“I kinda wonder if Kairi will even recognize you with your new look.” Riku said sarcastically referring to Sora’s new look. His type of clothes hadn’t changed but now he wore primarily black.

“I guess we should’ve found out how King Mickey, Donald, and Goofy got back to their world so we could know how to get back to ours.” Sora said

“Maybe Namine could’ve known how to get to other worlds or if we could find some of those people from The Organization.” Riku suggested

“Why do you talk about that Namine girl so much?” Sora asked

“Not that you would remember but she was hot.” Riku said smiling but received no response, Sora was looking straight up at the sky. “Sora?”

“Look.” Sora said. Riku looked up at the sky to see a blue meteor shower. Sora looked at Riku with a gleam of hope in his eyes “you know what this means!”

“Looks like we’ll be seeing Kairi soon.” Riku said.

While in the world of Twilight Town three boys and two girls were sitting on top of a clock tower as the sun was going down relaxing and hanging out. They all looked at one of the boys and yelled out, “Happy anniversary Tala!”

Tala, a sixteen-year boy with short spiky blondish brown hair in a white outfit looked at his four friends confused. “Anniversary? What are you guys talking about?” he asked

Aya the black haired girl sitting next to him said, “Don’t you remember, it’s been one year since we found wandering around Twilight Town.”

“Yeah and since we don’t know you’re real birthday we though this would work instead.” Nick, a short brown haired boy said.

“Isn’t it weird though that you have no memories about before then?” Kyle, the youngest one in the group asked

“Oh well, not like it really matters.” Lindsey said

The five friends sat up there for a while just talking about various memories until Lindsey, Kyle, and Nick had to leave.

“So I guess that leaves just the two of us.” Aya said shifting slightly closer to Tala.

“Hey Aya can I tell you a secret?” Tala asked

“Umm sure.” Aya said

“I only wanted to tell you this because you’re the one who found me and you know me the best. The fact is I do remember some things but not much.” Tala told his friend

“Like what?” Aya asked

“I only get these little pieces from dreams but they’re mainly names. These dark creatures that I think are called heartless, some things called The Organization and the keyblade. Riku, Kairi, Namine, people in black hoods, and someone named Sora. I don’t know who Sora is but every time the name pops in to my head I feel hatred like I want to kill that person. I don’t know how but I know that Sora has something to do with the heartless. I think he might be the key to who I really am.” Tala told her.

Aya was in pure shock at what he revealed to her. “Tala, I’m flattered that you would trust me with such tender knowledge. You know I think you might be from another world.” She said

“Could be.” Tala said. Then the couple looked up in the distance at a meteor shower.
