Default Dawn of a New Key: Final Note
Riku pushed open the door to the final room here at white walled and empty Castle Oblivion. He needed to Rescue Kelsie, through this pain, her face was the only thing that kept him going, what kept him sane in this mixuped place of truth and lies.

"No" the words barely escaped from his lips. His eyes were drawn to the red smeared floor. "No" He ran forward, sliding the last few feet on his knees... this couldn't... this HADN'T.... but it had. Kelsie's limp body was lying on the floor. Her blue eyes had gone dull and blurry, her face frozen in a look of blank determination. A red line, still dripping blood, was slashed across her throat.

"No... Kelsie... Kelsie! DANG IT! Don't die on me... don't..." Riku dissolved into tears as he shook her body, her face moving limply. "Don't die..." he sobbed into her shoulder. He just sat there for a while, feeling her skin grow cold. After a few minutes, he moved away... he couldn't just leave her here like this... but he couldn't move on carrying her either. Silently, he laid her body face up on the cold marble floor. With an infinite tenderness, a tenderness she should have known fully once they were married, he gently straightened her legs so they were no longer splayed on the floor. Next he fixed her arms, so they crossed on her chest. Finally, he closed her eyes, and turned to walk away. Upon doing so, he spotted the wide black notebook she always kept with her.

"My composition book." she had always said, a smile that would never more appear lighting up her features. She had shown the notebook to him a few times, but he couldn't understand it. She would... she would laugh.

Tears brimming in his eyes again, he sat down in the sole chair and opened up the book. The first page was entitled "Twinkle Towne"... the play she had been working on. He flipped through the pages, seeing a lyric here, a stanza there... not much registered in his tears. Finally, he got what had been the last blank page... but it was filled now. She had written one final letter to him.

Dear Riku,

I Hope you can find me soon. Larxene is threatening to slit my throat... and I think she means it this time. So, I'm writing what I hope isn't my last letter to you.

I want to thank you, for everything. Russia was fun, but I was always missing something. Remember the day you saved me from that heartless? That's when I knew, I wanted to be with you somehow.

I fell in love with you Riku. Between Hot Chocolate on the Steppes of the Russia, and arriving here... somewhere I fell in love with you. You would protect me, and I would try to do the same back.

If I die, don't hold yourself at fault. That's what they want... to guilt you. I would have been killed anyway. Kelsie's tears had started to distort the writing here... it was still legible, but it grew hard to read. The Pen had grown shakier too....

All I ever want you to know is I have NEVER regretted a moment with you. You've shown me so much of the world... and of love. I hope to see you soon,

She left a lipstick kiss next to her name, and a dab of blood on the side.

"Kelsie..." he whispered... and looked at the cold body one more time. "I'll avenge you... I promise.”

Ziz wanted me to make a love note between Riku and Kelsie for his story, Dawn of a New Key... I came up with this. After he recommended I put it up in the fanfiction section, I decided to oblige him.

Other then I know this is apart of Dawn of a New Key, Riku plays Sora's side in CoM with Kelsie being Namine (only she knew him before hand, legitimately) and she dies at the end.

Twinkle Towne is the name of her play in High School Musical 1. Her actress, Olyesa Rulin, is Russian, so Kelsie is also.

Darn you Ziz! I have to put up Rilsie that isn't based on your stories! I made them first!

Simply amazing Mina! What am I saying! It's magnificent and I'm glad you posted this.

You know my feelings towards Riku x Kelsie

There's absolutely nothing wrong with this! It's cool how Kelsie left him that composition notebook. Poor Riku.

Be it in canon or fanon, he's fucked.

wouldn't have worked... they would have gone at it like rabbits for a few years, then stopped talking and possibly abusive. Face it, it was alot of physical attraction. THough, I am always eager to see how it would have played out, though Riku is her true love

Oh my God!!! No!!! Kelsie can't be dead; her and Riku need to last forever. Anyway, enough of my ranting, that was very good. The ending made me want to cry, but I still loved it; I love bittersweet stories. Great job, and I look forward to more.

and, all of this is non canon to where they start, Identities, which I will start on when I finish Timefixer.

Noooooooo! Not Kelsie! What'd she ever do to you, Larxene?!

You've really gotten me into this pairing! It helps that there aren't many girls in KH canon to pair Riku with, and none that I think would work well with him save for Kairi. (And we all know how I feel about Kairi and who I prefer to pair her with!!)

It was very short and sweet. I loved the note that Kelsie wrote for Riku- it was touching and romantic, but also tragic given the circumstances. My only criticism is that since the story takes place in media res, I'd like to know how Riku and Kelsie got to be in that situation and why. It sort of has the feel of the final chapter of a longer fanfic. But other than that, it was great! Which reminds me, I have to post my Riku/Kelsie fanfic that I wrote for you on DA this summer!

Actually, to be honest, I'm a Riku/Selphie fan (I'm actually working on a story where they are a pair), but I do really like the Riku/Kelsie pairing. Even though I really don't know all there is to know about your crack pairing, with what I have read so far, they really are meant for each other. Everything that I've read just shows true love between those two, and that is what makes them a great pair.

I... don't know either. Ziz asked me to write a love note, and I could only put it in with setting it up like this. I don't know anything really beyond this.

Kelsie is because... well it started in a fanfic I half wrote and will rewrite called "Identities" Where when going through, I realized Riku and Kelsie fit eachother very well. (I should note HSM was only a part of the story, the rest was taken up by Lost, PotC 2 and 3, etc) They complement each other.
