Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Ok, I'm lazy to complete it. Read it first. I still have to type half of the story in, but I'm tired. Very well, show time. 4 days earlier than expected too XD Hope you people enjoy it. So far. Act VI - Awakening "Thank you! Have a nice day too!" Xion called out, hefting the groceries in the bag. For everything the Garden had, including sleeping areas, its own entertainment, as well as a kitchen, it did not have a steady source of food. Xion was often forced to venture into the town of Hollow Bastion to purchase various food substances to stock that kitchen. This town, once a heartless stronghold, was now a thriving market town, restored to former glory when Kingdom Hearts was sealed, apparently. That was the story, at least. Of course, Xion initially had not the munny to buy food, but she soon got around that by offering her services as a heartless controller in town, killing heartless for the cash needed to buy her food. As far as the townsfolk were concerned, she was just a hooded, ruthless heartless destroyer who kipped somewhere out of town, and that was how she wanted it. She did not want to alert any of her presence here for fear it would be relayed to the Organization somehow. It was a week since she had fled from Castle Oblivion. In that time, she had toughened up by fighting through various data battles in the Garden, but she did not know how much. Technically, it may almost be considered that her improvement was minimal, seeing that the proper way to get a name as a replica also involved having to defeat one data form of an Organization member in the Garden, which she had barely managed to defeat, Demyx. Meanwhile, Riku Replica had failed to defeat any, so he failed to get himself a name. At least, she was a bit stronger; the heartless were no longer a problem to her. "Be careful! Neoshadows are active today," a brown haired person shouted out to her. Leon, if her memory served her well. In fact, the heartless were kind of active today, more so than any other day. She wondered why. Whistling a tune, she walked down the small road that trailed between two large, long blue stone columns, heading for the concealed passageway that led into the Garden. Unknown to her, two cloaked figures crouched above those columns, watching her every move. "We found her. Get the fleet in position." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- An explosion broke the silence, the shockwave crashing even through the area. It was his cue. Xigbar leapt off the cliff, a dozen snipers leapfrogging after him, while another contingent covered the concealed entrance that lay in the cliff face. Another explosion, and a massive purple beam struck down from the skies, straight into the middle of town. He had to admit, Xaldin sure had a knack for spotting targets for the Dreadnoughts. Another beam sliced into the center of the main market area, causing a spontaneous eruption of flames which latched onto any nearby building, or even people, stupid enough to get caught up in it. And the support fleet had arrived. From the sky, detached from the main Dreadnought fleet, came dozens of small ships, firing energy bursts and small lasers, strafing the ground. A few flew straight into structures, those bell shaped explosive gummis detonating on contact, leaving massive gaps in the infrastructure. Another beam fell from the sky, striking rows of houses, setting them ablaze. More ships were coming down now, transport vessels, to secure the ground for other nobodies to enter safely by corridors of darkness. As these nodes impacted onto the ground one by one, Xigbar knew that nobodies of all forms will be coming out to destroy the town. No sentimentality, though, orders were order. Xigbar swung his arm, bringing his weapons to bear, then walked through the entrance and up the stairs within, the other snipers quietly following behind. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- As the first explosions rang out, Xion ran up from the kitchen, ignoring her unfinished breakfast: waffles. Emerging into the white room with water tumbling upwards from all sides, she moved to the center of the room as the computer swivelled up, having detected her presence. Engaging the Master Override function, she initiated a total lockdown of the place. As her hands moved across the touch screen, glowing faintly in the green, she saw a red spot appear right beside her, and she swerved. A red laser, one that she had seen by chance through a reflection of the screens, impacted the computer, which began to close down for emergency diagnostics and repair. "Hello, poppet." Nobodies leapt off the ledge, all snipers, raising their weapons to face Xion. "Xigbar?" "You know, you can just surrender and make life a lot easier for you and me." "Oh really? Well, then, no." Pushing off with her right leg, she smashed her left elbow into one of the sniper's face, simultaneously grabbing the free weapon with her right hand, swinging it down on the helpless nobodies. Spinning, she leapt into a dark corridor, evading the various shots that were flying towards her, popping out behind another sniper, loosing a shot, and returning back into the corridor. "Not bad, poppet." As the remaining snipers jumped away to safety, Xigbar walked in by the entrance, grimacing, his weapons reflected pink through the endless flow of water around him. "You know, stop playing hide and seek," Xigbar said, snapping his fingers. From the skies, four dragoons dived down, their lances colliding with the ground with a 'twang' sound, weapons stained red, presumably with the blood of people around Hollow Bastion. From behind the waterfall, dark portals appeared as Samurais dove through the column of water, droplets raining across the area. "A spirit can never win a ghost in a battle in the corridors, you know. Watch this place." Launching himself, Xigbar dived into a dark corridor. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Curling all six lances into a long segmented piece, Xaldin swung, bringing to bear the full force of momentum on a grey bricked house, splitting it down the center from the impact, red terracotta tiles of the roof slowly sliding down. While engaged in this gruesome slaughter, his earpiece crackled. "Number III, this is base. Reinforcements in sector F2C5H3 are being held up, engaging a powerful enemy. Provide assistance." At the same time, another capsule crashed down beside him, samurais and berserkers striding forth. A berserker swung almost lazily, and his hammer like weapon brought a small tower crashing down, windows shattering as they took the weight of the falling bricks. Leaping into the distance, Xaldin spotted the disturbance. A yellow haired person was swinging a large blade that looked too large for him, seemingly wrapped in some kind of bandage. The nobodies couldn't even get close, and the air support was not working, with the enemy deflecting the lasers back into the ships and shooting them down. As Xaldin moved into a range, one daring assassin snuck close, surfacing his wings for a sneaky strike, which barely left the ground for half a second before a backwards slice ensured that the assassin stayed toothless. Linking all six lances together again, Xaldin swung down with all his might, like a long whip, fast and deadly. But the enemy reacted quickly, holding up that massive sword, taking the hit on it. However, now he was vulnerable. Two samurais stepped in to take advantage of the opening, swords swinging. Then they were cut to pieces, burning, as another leapt into the fray, his sword cutting and igniting anything that it touched. Xaldin spat, as the enemy battered the lance whip aside. From some area far in the distance, small gummi ships rose from the ground, flying into the sky to engage the Dreadnoughts. An explosion, and one escort destroyer was shot out of the sky, the smouldering wreck falling to earth. This invasion was not going to plan. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Xion chased after Xigbar, swinging the keyblade straight at his chest. As it collided, he yelled with pain, then fired off two shots behind him, trying to get some distance. Xion batted them aside harmlessly. A teleport, then volleys from above Xion. Xigbar was getting predictable. Then again, Xion had spent forever fighting the various data Organization members, she knew pretty much all their moves. Firing salvo after salvo at Xion, Xigbar kept on backing away. Time to end this. Stepping forward, Xion thrust hard with both legs, disappearing from sight. "What?" Then it was over. From Xigbar's left, Xion smashed an elbow into his face, knocking him out with a strong blow. Xion took a deep breath. A long fight, but at least she won. Opening a gateway back to the Garden, she stepped through. Then something along the lines of 20 or so blades but at her, nicking at her flesh, drawing blood. A slight distortion in the air above, then four dragoons crashed down, with her barely managing to roll out of the way from the impact. Swinging in a wide stroke, Xion scattered the enemies directly in front of her, then raced for the large double doors. Forcing her back against them, she pushed hard, and the large door slowly opened. The wall around her chipped as various projectiles were fired upon it, lances, samurai swords, lances, whatever the nobodies could throw. Turning back, she slammed the door back shut at lances collided, their familiar 'twang' sound of their flexible metal handles ringing into the area. Xion breathed a sigh of relief. Then some pink substance appeared to condense in the air before her, forming translucent cubes. A spiral of white, and three sorcerers appeared, the cubes floating around them. Swearing, Xion ran past as the cubes swiped at where she last stood. Around her, along the entire white stretch of corridor, spirals and white and dark formed even more nobodies, hefting their weapons at her. She kept on running. The exit to this corridor loomed before her as she took the last corner, one small white door. In the empty chasm that lay to her left, another large nobody stood up, massive in comparison to the rest of the nobodies, a blue scarf flailing about in non-existent winds around its neck. Shifting its giant eyes, it gazed mournfully at her, just staring. Almost immediately, Xion began to feel an immobilizing force on her four limbs. "No, just a bit more..." Xion took another two steps, the door right before her. Suddenly, she was hoisted up into the air, suspended high above the chasm. The giant nobody spun before her, staring her down right in her eyes. It lifted one gigantic arm, swinging it backwards. Xion tugged desperately at her limbs, but they were stubbornly stuck in position. Then the arm swung backwards, striking Xion in the face. Next came a straight drop down. Down to who knows where. Obviously, she'll be dead by the time she landed, but it wouldn't be very nice. Suddenly, below her, a sharp glow of light burst out, encompassing her entire form. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lifting up lances on both hands, Xaldin deflected hits from both sides. The two attackers leapt away, swinging their huge swords in their hands. Behind, a girl clad in a black outfit enlarged a shuriken, throwing it, the four sided weapon spinning right at him, at least until it collided with the wall of lances Xaldin threw up before him. Jumping backwards, Xaldin tried to move away from the battle, but the two sword wielding enemies followed in pursuit. Xaldin just turned, running away. Above, another explosion rang out, and one more Dreadnought fell from the sky, the core bursting out in a gigantic explosion. The whole place was literally destroyed short of this stubborn group that simply refused to die. And now half the Dreadnought fleet had been shot from the sky, the other half damaged. They could not continue to sustain such continued losses. This whole place may be swarming with nobodies, but there was no way they could win anymore. "Retreat!" Barked Xaldin as another ship in the air burst into flames. Entering a corridor of darkness, he went to look for Xigbar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Retreat!" Xaldin's voice rang out in his earpiece. Using his arm, Xigbar hefted himself upright. So poppet had won him. He grimaced. He wasn't going to let her take advantage of this victory. Summoning his guns back onto his hands, he left the world of the in-between with a corridor of darkness. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- A large circular platform. That was exactly what Xion was standing on. Bluish hues of light shone from the platform, illuminating the area in a pale light. On the platform itself, a hooded figure was engraved sitting within a large circle that encompassed nearly the entire platform itself. Beside the figure was a boy with blonde, spiky hair: Roxas. Both sat down back to back, a keyblade held in the right hand of each person: Golden handle and silver blade for Roxas, silver handle with a golden blade for the hooded figure, and Xion could appreciate that both had similar body shapes. Then again, under the Organization cloak everyone had the same body shape apart from height. Around their feet lay pieces of dull armour, and a black, simplistic keyblade jutting from the point where the ground should be in perspective to the two figures sitting. On the hooded figure's left hand, a long metal chain extended into a snowflake sculpture. The rim of the platform was unblemished, except by two keyblades that lay in exact opposites of the platform. One was the one held by No.II, the other was shaped like an intricate bronze wing. Checking for injuries, Xion confirmed that the drop had not yet hurt her in any way. Which was kind of surprising, considering that it had still been a long drop. Moving to the edge of the platform, Xion stared down at the dark space beneath. There was definitely no way she would be doing another drop. Walking back to the center, she glanced once at the hooded figure, at Roxas, then dropped to the ground, feeling the platform: Marble. She turned back. The hooded figure was no longer there. Suddenly, a hand grabbed her from behind, squeezing into her chest. She gasped, the strength forcing the breath out of her lungs. Summoning her keyblade, she smashed at the hand that held her with as much strength as she could under such a circumstance, then the hand released her, and her whole body dropped to her knees under such a release of force. Turning around, she looked at her assailant, just as a hooded figure walked directly through her. It felt wrong. She could not explain why, but it was just wrong. Pitching forward, she fell straight down onto the ground, panting for breath. Beads of cold sweat broke out along the entire length of her body. Forcing herself upright, she turned around to see the hooded figure. All around her, pieces of matter were being lifted from the platform. Technically, it only looked like it. The platform itself wasn't actually being damaged. But things were continually looking as though it was being sucked from the platform, the strands condensing itself into a massive being that slowly rose from the ground. Pale blue skin was contrasted by the sharp red glow within its eyes. Above its head, a horn stood at the crown of its forehead while two other horns by the side corkscrewed upwards into the air. It howled, the sound flinging Xion away, with her barely managing to hang onto the platform. The being held out both arms, tendons pulling and muscles rippling across its entire well built torso. The ground beneath Xion shook, then there was a crack, and the two keyblades at the edge of the platform burst out from the ground, flying right into the fiend's hands. Swinging forward, Xion stubbed her keyblade into its toe, doing absolutely nothing, then toppled away as she was kicked aside. The leg muscles tensed, then it leapt high into the air. From the distance came a roar like thunder, then it grew louder, more audible. In the distance, specks flew towards the platform, looking like flies from such a distance. As it got closer, it turns out that the flies were actually a solid mass of metal, spinning around an electrical current, which spiralled upwards, then buckled slightly as the being landed on top of the metal, bellowing loudly. Then the solid wave continued downwards. Close up, Xion saw that it was actually comprised of individual keyblades in a mass that formed a long metal chain, each of which, if it impacted, was definitely able to kill her. Leaping to one side, the wave passed beside her, then it swung back for a second pass. Jumping into the air, Xion sliced at the oncoming wave, and one section broke, separated from the electricity that powered its movement. Instead, the sparks from the electricity impacted with her keyblade, and dragged it away. Cursing, Xion let it go, and the keyblade flew up, joining into the solid wave. Diving down, she picked up a pink one that just happened to be in grasping range, with a ridiculous heart as the teeth of the key. The key wave swung back, and this time Xion was prepared as she sliced it. Letting go of her keyblade, she dove beneath the falling keys, freezing the entire group with a huge wave of blizzard magic summoned from her hand. Then, she swung in the air, lobbing a massive aeroga straight into the center of the keys, forcing them to fly in the direction of the head of the fiend, a solid mass of icicle like keys. It impacted, and the fiend howled in pain, while apparently, without his concentration, the current fizzled out and the keys slowly rained down, separated from the energy that allowed it to move. Grasping another handy keyblade, this one like strands of metal wire of various colours wound around what looked like a sword, Xion leapt up, using the falling keys as small stepping stones. Jumping high above the being, she swung down hard at its head with all the strength she could muster. "Checkmate!" Xion called. Then she was struck in the side and thrown away, her grip on the key releasing. Arms flailing, she managed to hold onto what looked to be a large sword, then she fell down, pulled by gravity. The fiend kept on swinging, the edge of one of its keys striking into her and casting her out into the void. With sheer strength and force of will, she somehow managed to hold onto the edge of the platform with the fingers of her left hand. The sword was nothing but weight; she dropped it from her right hand and swung up, trying to get back onto the platform. Then she was grabbed and hefted high into the air. The fiend had stuck one of its keyblades into the platform, and now held her with that free hand, looking at her in perhaps curiosity. Its fingers ran up and down her body, as though it was looking for the best position for them to crush her, which felt really uncomfortable for Xion: it was like it was molesting her. All the other keys began disintegrating, and Xion managed to see her keyblade, the only one that wasn't fading away, far below on the platform below. Then the creature began squeezing, its eyes widening as though in delight. In front of Xion, the world began fading away, dissolving itself into water as the force crushed her. Vaguely, she saw her keyblade on the ground disappearing into a wisp of light. After an eternity, the squeezing stopped. Instead, she was flung towards the ground. Then a hexagon of darkness burst out beneath her and she fell through back into another world. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Where's the girl?" Growled Xaldin at Xigbar. "Well, poppet busted me up real good, so yeah, now I have to go and get her." "Hmph. Typical. Anyway, the people in Hollow Bastion are proving too costly to take down, so I have ordered a general retreat. However, the main target must still be eliminated." Pushing on a concealed button, the massive double doors swung open easily. "Well, we've better pick up the pace, then," Xigbar said. From behind, a massive wave of dragoons and snipers swept by. "Now that they'll clear the path for us, let's get moving." ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- "Ugh!" The tumbling stopped, and Xion stood up, taking in her bearings. So. She was looking at a long corridor with doors lining both sides. And standing at the entrance of it, a large glass lined circular area. Minus the glass that had been shattered. Which was practically everywhere. Sparks cut through the darkness, providing dim light into the area, bursting from the end of severed wires. This was, incredibly, the Combat Zone. Walking into the corridor, she turned, heading to the adjoining corridor that would lead to a way out. This place was a wreck. There were barely any lights that were functional, and the pipes were apparently broken, water dripping onto the floor with an ominous, repetitive sound. As she walked towards the exit, she noticed that there was a light still working directly behind her. In fact, the room on the far end of the corridor was lit, the only one seemingly fully functional. It was the one Xemnas spend hour after hour in. The forbidden room. And the door was open. Cautiously, Xion stepped in, taking in the surroundings. It was entirely white, similar to all the other rooms in the facility, shaped in a small circle. One large seat lay at the center, facing away from the door. And a suit of armour, scattered all across the floor, along with a keyblade, sticking up from the ground in an angle. How strange. Just as it was writ on the platform. Reaching out an inquisitive hand, Xion brushed against the cool metal with her hand, her fingers sliding through each piece of the armour. Suddenly, a voice rang out in her head. Ven? Xion took back her hands, backing away. The voice cut off. Staring suspiciously at the armour, Xion went and touched it again. Ven? Is that you? The armour was talking. This revelation was almost too much for her to bear. Ven? Hello? Are you there? "Who's Ven?" Xion said out loud. You're kidding, right? Come on, Ven, this is no time for jokes. "I'm not Ven! I'm Xion!" shouted Xion, getting a bit upset that she was constantly being called by a different name. Oh, poppycock. Suddenly, a flood of memories burst within her, like a dam that had been breached. The torrent exploded, roaring through her mind, scouring every last nook and cranny, until her brain could no longer bear the raucous wailing of the tidal wave of the memories that threatened to cause her to submit, and her consciousness faded away. Fin~ Yay. I'm done. Oh, and technically, I wrote 'nonsense' in my script instead of 'poppycock', but it was just a bit of a joke. And as a pun, the Memory Fiend (aka the thing Xion was fighting, that's my name for it; Just needed an alternative to Darkside and Twilight Thorn) shall be called Memphis! If anyone knows what I mean by that. Last edited by Snow; November 11th, 2009 at 08:05 AM. |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() Currently playing: Kingdom Hearts I Level: EXP: | That was AWESOME!!!!! That was a really great chapter. I really loved the ass-kicking that Xion gave Xigbar; that smartass douchebag totally deserved that. I also loved the fight between Xaldin and Cloud, Leon, and Yuffie; it is always good to see the Hollow Basion group beating the crap out of Heartless and Nobodies. So, Xion heard Aqua's vioce when she touched her armour, and Aqua thinks she is Ven. I take it Xion is seeing Ven's memories because of her connection to Roxas and Sora, right? Also, will Aqua be making an appearance? You already had Terra show up, so it only seems natural that Aqua will. Well, I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Anyway, great job, and I look forward to more. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | I wanted to let Xion beat Xigbar just like she did on Day 353, thus she disappeared and smashed at Xigbar, knocking her out. For the Hollow Bastion group, I just wanted to give a real reason for the restoration committee. And in my mind, even if I didn't actually write it, Cid was the one sending up the gummis. And I hope people noticed the Destati (and the fact that Xion lost), it will have repercussions. And yes, Aqua will be staging a comeback. I know exactly how. It's the reason I placed so much emphasis in the replicas. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() ![]() Level: 14 EXP: | Relaxation over already, but I've got to go for some class activity. I haven't even began writing the next act XD Apparently I'm going to waste 1 entire act on the memory flood before moving back to reality. Story spoiler hint hint: Connect Aqua with the Replica Project. They're related in the storyline I concocted in my mind. |
