| I don't like you. | The year is 2085, and the world is in a great war with machines. Humanity is in it's final hour; only few will survive. Prologue In 2024, humanity introduced fighting machines. These were very high tech, and modified over the years. They were mainly used for wars. Some were big, some were small, but nobody saw what was coming. In about 2067, these robots changed in many ways. Some were not responding to human commands, and completely shut down. Few went berserk. The humans came to the conclusion to shut down the robots, and modify them. In 2073, the final modifications were launched. 1 year later, the robots went even more crazy, and not just a few, nearly all of them. Humans could no longer control them, and had no choice but to destroy them, themselves. This soon launched a great war with machines and humans. The master modifier, Dr. Shaun Rose, is claimed to be the one that made the robots insane. He is reportedly missing. Other modifiers are also on accusation. Who will stop them now? Soldiers of UFWA (United Fighting and War Association) are on the case to try and find Dr. Rose, and destroy these robots. The main protagonist, Jason Klein, is a rank B soldier, and has a small robot of his own, Lumin. Lumin was a robot made by Jason himself. Jason is 17 years old, and very smart, but doesn't have much common sense. His mother was murdered by the robots when he was 10. Ever since, he planned vengeance on them, and decided to join the UFWA when he was 15. He has two very close friends, Alex Rodman (17) and Lance Sirtis (19). He has known them ever since he joined UFWA. The robots are destroying the world. Few base sites are left, and almost all of humanity is gone. The soldiers will head into South Australia for their first assignment on searching for information about Dr. Rose. He is the only key to stopping the war. Find Dr. Rose- Save the world. Chapter 1: Mission 1: South Australia Sunday, January 16th, 2085- 10:20 AM. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The morning breeze was cold, and bitter- a sign that this was a bad day. Jason walked over camp into the Cafeteria to eat breakfast. Great, oatmeal Jason thought, sarcastically. He looked for a table to sit in. "Hey, Jason, over here!" called out Alex. Jason walked over to the table with a depressed look on his face. "Hey, what's wrong, Jason?" Alex asked, "Are you feeling alright?" "I just have a bad feeling about today's mission," Jason replied, "I just don't think things will go as planned." Alex stared at Jason for a moment, then grinned and said. "Heh, don't worry. Those robots don't even know what's coming at them." Alex said, optimistic. Jason smiled, thinking a bit more happier. After breakfast, the two went to Lance's cabin. He was reading a book entitled Advanced Physics. Lance was a bookworm type of person, always reading books. His favorites were physics. He told them that once the war was finished, he wanted to study physics. He is very wise, making him a strategic type of fighter. He joined after his family was killed in a terrible explosion, and Lance thought he was weak because he couldn't save them. "Hey there, bookworm" Alex called out, "Ready to go to the Announcement Hall?" Lance stared up and gave him a bitter stare. Him and Alex weren't the best of friends. "Let me get ready, I'll meet you there" Lance replied. "Alright, seeya there" Jason and Alex said to him. Sunday, January 16th, 2085- 12:47 PM ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The UFWA's leader, Johnathon Parker, is the seventh captain of the UFWA. He is very skilled in hand-to-hand combat. Jason is very fond of him, and trains with him privately sometimes. He hopes to end the war soon, by finding Dr. Rose. He gave the announcements: "Now, as you know, you soldiers will be going to several parts of the world in search for Dr. Rose. Some of you may live, some of you may die. Or maybe even all of us. Anyway, the point is to find Dr. Rose. If any of you spot him, send a message to me or the other captains. And whatever you do- don't lose him. Even if it costs you your life. He is our only hope to saving the world. Now, let me list the cabins that are going where: Cabin's C and F will be heading into Southern Australia. Cabin's D and A will be heading into Northern Antarctica. Cabin's B and E will be heading into North America. Cabin's H and I will be heading into Western China Cabin's G and J will be heading into the Middle East. Mission leader's will give you the proper gear and weapons for this journey. They will also assist you. If your mission leader dies, you must pick a new one. Don't leave your mission leader, unless you're told by him/her. If so, you must set up a meeting point at either your camp, or another area. Each soldier will carry a map, food, water, tents, and other supplies. No soldier goes alone. If you are in trouble, notify your mission leader via cell phone. Don't lose that either. Now, if anybody has anything else to say, please say now. No? Then go to your cabin's helicopter, after you're done getting personal belongings. Good luck to all." All the soldiers soon left the room, and went to their cabin's. Jason went to his room to get his robot, Lumin. "Ready to go, buddy?" Jason asked. "Yes, master" replied Lumin. They walked to the helicopter where Alex and Kyle were talking. Kyle was a good friend of Alex, and also a friend of Jason. "Hey guys." Jason said. "You ready to go, Jason" Kyle asked. "As I'll ever be" he replied. The mission leader, Josh Starik, approached. His muscles had veins popping out of them. His green eyes told that a great battle was to be held soon. "Alright, everyone, it's time to get going. Take out a gun from both boxes, as well as ammo. Once your done, get a map, a compass, a small knife, a manipulation knife (used to mess with the robots wires/control systems), a water pack, a few snacks, a cell phone, and a Tech Watch (used for time, date, video calls, radar system, and contains a small laser). After this, proceed to the helicopter, so we can get going." Sunday, January 17th, 2085- 3:16 PM ---------------------------------------------------------------- When they finally arrived in Australia, the soldiers set out a camp site. After this they proceeded on with their mission. "Okay, troops, now that we got the camp set up, we can continue with the mission. José, and Sam will be watching the camp. Since there is no sign of danger in this area, we will be out for a while. Get your gear ready, and let's go." "Man, this is gonna be fun!" Alex exclaimed optimistically "Haha, I wonder how mister bookworm is doing in Antarctica." "Well, his mission is a lot worse than ours, so we're lucky with that at least." Jason said. "Hopefully things will go well in this journey." Kyle said. After about an hour of hiking, Jason stumbled upon something interesting. "Hey, Alex, come look at this!" Jason called out. Alex approached the shiny object. He called out the mission leader. "What's this?" Josh asked, "Is it some kind of silver?" Josh felt it for a second- his eyes opened wide, and he jumped away from the strange object. "It's a robot!" Josh called out to the soldiers, "Get your weapons ready!" The robot leaped out of the ground, causing the floor to roar in fury. The robot was medium sized, maybe 3 times bigger than the average adult, and it's eyes were blood red. It leaped in the air and shot out a small canon. "Everybody move!" Josh screamed. The canon hit the earth and caused quite an impact. The robot jumped back on the ground. Jason feared the lives of his comrades. Could this be the end for us? He thought. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Next... Chapter 2: Mission 1: South Australia- Encounter with a Fiend ------- So what do you guys think? It's my first ever fan-fic. Chapter 2 will come out next week. | I don't like you. | Okay, I finished re-writing, and editing the 2nd chapter. I'll fix the 3rd and 4th chapters maybe tomorrow, and probably have them up by next week. Enjoy chapter 2. Chapter 2: Mission 1: South Australia- Encounter with a Fiend Monday, January 17th, 2085- 4:47 PM --------------------------------------------------------- The robot threw out its arm, and fired bullets at the soldiers. Everybody hid for cover, and shot back at the robot. “Everybody take cover, now!” Josh screamed. “Josh, we have to get close to it if we want to kill it. We need a distraction. It’s too fast for us to hit it.” Ryan (another friend of Alex) told him. Josh nodded, and continued on with the plan. “Kyle!” Josh called out to him. “Yes sir?” Kyle asked. “I want you, Ryan, and Alex to get close to the robot so we can eliminate it. Just try and distract it, so we can get a clear shot. Kyle nodded, and called the others. They thought up a quick plan, and proceeded on. The robot was shooting everywhere, it seemed impossible to get close to it. Jason was confused, and didn’t know what was going on. “Alex!” Jason called out. Alex couldn’t reply, and ran up to the robot. He slid between it’s legs and got a clear shot in the back of the head. Part of the metal blew off, and he saw something very strange. A brain. “What the…?” Alex said, confused. The robot turned around and nearly hit Alex in the face. The robot was angry now. It jumped in the air, and shot out another canon. “Get out of there, Alex!” called out Josh. Alex ran as fast as he could and made it behind a rock. The ground exploded, once more, causing more of an impact than last time. “Alright, it’s my turn, now.” Kyle said. Kyle ran out before the robot reached the ground, and shot up at it multiple times in the leg. The robot lost it’s balance and plundered into the ground. Is it dead? Kyle thought. No. The robot got up once again, and roared in fury. It ran up to where the soldiers were taking cover. “Oh no you don’t!” Josh screamed at the robot. Josh got out his Pro-Blaster, and shot out a canon. The robot leaped in the air, dodging the attack. “Dammit!” screamed Josh. The robot was coming back down. Jason thought of something, and hurried toward the robot. He got out two smoke grenades, and threw one in the air. The robot was confused, and fell in the ground again. “Now!” Jason exclaimed to Josh. Josh nodded, and sent out another canon. No good, the robot jumped over to a tree. I have to distract it. Jason thought. He got out an M-16, and shot at the robot. It was angry, and run up to Jason. With a hand behind his back, he was ready to throw the grenade. The robot was 5 yards away from him. Jason jumped back, and threw the smoke grenade. The robot was once again blinded, and fell to the ground. “Hurry!” Jason screamed to him. Josh blasted out the canon and it flew directly towards the robot. It blew up, and flames were dancing everywhere. Jason was still in there. “Jason!!” Josh called. “Are you in there?!” After a few moments, Jason walked out of the dust, and flames. He was bleeding on his arm, and had some bruises. “You alright there?” Josh asked. “Yeah, I’m fine.” Jason replied, panting. “Haha, that was some crazy stuff out there, boy. Good job.” Josh said to him, smiling. “Uh, guys?” Alex said. “What is it, Alex?” Josh asked, confused. “You’re not going to believe this, but.. I.. I found a brain.. in the robot.” Alex told them, slowly. “What?” Josh said, confused, “How on earth did you find a brain inside a robot?” “I don’t know.” Alex replied, “When I shot it in the back of the head, the metal uncovered a brain. It was real.” All the soldiers stared at Alex, like he was crazy. Jason looked at the dead robot for a second. “Maybe I should go check it out.” Jason said. He walked over to the robot, and examined it. Alex was right. There was a blood near the robots head. “Oh, my god,.” Jason said, shocked, “He’s right. There’s blood, and pieces of it’s brain.” Josh walked over, and saw that it was true. He walked around, looking to see if it had any other organs. He soon noticed a heart on the ground. “Dear lord,” He said, “how could this be?” Jason walked over to him, and said “Maybe the robots are still being created. If so, then that means Rose is.. here, or somewhere around. Send a message to one of the other mission leaders to see if they saw something like we saw.” Josh nodded, and took out his cell phone. He called the captain. “Hello?” UFWA leader, Jonathon said. “Sir, we have found something very strange in the robots.” “Yes, and what might that be?” Jon asked. “We found internal organs inside a robot we have just encountered.” “What?” Jon said, puzzled, “That’s impossible. Robots have no internal organs.” “The one we found did.” He said. “Have you seen any robots yet?” “Yes, we have, and none had internal organs.” “Listen to me, I need you to send this message to all of the mission leaders, and captains. Dr. Rose must have made them, since all the other modifiers are still on accusation. He could be in our area, sir.” “Okay, I’ll send the message. If you see Dr. Rose, give me a text.” “Got it, sir.” They hanged up the phone, and Josh gave an announcement to the soldiers. “Alright everyone, we have discovered something… unnatural. I have spoken with the captain, and he said he hasn’t seen anything like this, yet. He is sending a message to the other mission leaders. Nobody other than Dr. Rose made that robot. There are probably others, too. Now, we may be close to him. He may be in our area, so we are going to split up and try to find him. Me and Jason are going together.” Jason stared at Josh for a moment. He smiled, and agreed with the decision. “The other groups are as follow: Alex and Sam, Kyle and Ryan, Jose and Tyler, and Richard and Quin” “Let’s get back to camp, and will continue with the mission tomorrow.” Tuesday, January 18th, 2085- 10: 39 AM ------------------------------------------------------- The next day arrived, and the next mission will begin. Josh woke up early and trained for a bit. He knew that this was going to be a tough mission. What he feared the most was seeing another robot. He thought of bringing Lumin, this time. “Lumin, I’m going on a mission, and I probably won’t be back for a few days. You can come if you want.” Lumin replied, “Yes, master. I will assist you in this journey.” “Okay then, let’s go.” Jason and Lumin walked over to the fire, where all of the soldier’s were. “Settle down, settle down. None of you will die.” Josh told the soldiers. “We could barely take down that other robot with all of our soldiers. What makes you think only two of us can take one?” one soldier asked. Jason stepped in front of Josh. “Would you guy’s shut up? We’re going to make it. We won’t even be that far from each other. If we’re going to find Dr. Rose, we have to split up. If you guys have any trouble, send us a message. Is it that difficult?” All the soldiers look up at Jason. “Fine, but-“ “That’s enough, we’ve wasted enough time as is, everybody get moving now!” Josh exclaimed. Jason felt a strange feeling that something new and bad was going to happen. He wanted to find Dr. Rose more than anybody to stop this war. Things won’t go as planned… ------------------------------------------------------- Next… Chapter 3: Mission 2: Dr. Rose- A New Discovery Comments? |

| I don't like you. | Spoilers – Read after finishing the chapter… Chapter 3: Mission 2: Dr. Rose- A New Discovery Tuesday, January 18th, 2085- 11:00 AM -------------------------------------------------------------------- Silence was golden for the time that Jason and Josh were walking together. The morning was hot and seemed like a good day. “So,” Josh started “what do you think today will be like?” “I kind of think things will be alright for once- I mean, no signs of trouble or anything are in this area, or in the next 15 miles, so maybe today will be a good day.” Jason replied. “Yeah, maybe it will…” Kyle and Ryan were walking South of where everybody else was. The area was as silent as a mouse. No trees moving, no wind blowing, nothing. After about an hour, Kyle and Ryan decided to take a quick brake, and eat some snacks. “Man, what a boring mission,” said Ryan, with his mouth full of crackers, “we didn’t find any sign of Dr. Rose, or even a bird. This place is as empty as Josh’s head.” “Maybe we’ll find something soon. You never know.” Kyle said with hope. They started searching again, and checked the radar to see if any robots were near. “No danger around this area, let’s get moving.” Kyle told him. Suddenly, they heard approaching footsteps. “What was that?!” exclaimed Ryan. “Take cover, quickly!” Kyle said without hesitation. They hid behind to small bushes. Two robots appeared. At first they were just looking at each other until one of them opened it’s mouth. “Greetings, Dr. Koric.” said one of the robots. “Hello there, Dr. Rose.” “What!” Ryan whispered. “Have you got the blueprints ready?” asked the robot, or in this case, Dr. Rose “Yes, bring your robot to the underground base.” said the other robot. The two robots went walking over to the destination. “We have to go follow them.” Kyle said. Ryan nodded, and the two silently followed the robots. After about 5 minutes, they arrived to an empty circle. It looked like a giant well, except without a hole, or any water. One of the robots put it’s hand in the middle. A blue light crept through the hole, as it got bigger. The robots went inside, and the two soldiers followed them. The place was nothing but flat earth and automatic doors. Each room contained un-finished robots. Blueprints were on the floors, and desks. Computers with the words “Database Error- Content Corrupt” were everywhere. They got to the final door, and the area in the room had metal walls, and a normal looking floor with tiles. It was big, and two robots (maybe as big as the robot they fought earlier) were standing beside a man. There were robots guarding the door. They had to go another way. Kyle looked around. “We need to find another way. Maybe we could use the laser, and make a hole through the walls, so we can see what’s going on.” Meanwhile, Jason and Josh were still on the search. They left their weapons at their last stop. “This is hopeless.” said Jason. “We’ll never find anything, at this rate.” “Take a rest, then.” Josh said, “I’ll do this myself.” Jason flopped his belly on the ground at closed his eyes. He thought about North America. He thought about how peaceful it was, and how beautiful Serenity City sounded. His thoughts took him into a completely different world, until he heard screaming. “Jason! Jason! Get up!” Jason opened his eyes and saw a gun right in his face. “Aaaah!” he screamed. Josh came running and threw a rock at the robot to distract it. The robot was about 5 inches taller than Josh. Meanwhile, Jason got up and jumped on the robot. He covered it’s eyes, as it was swinging wildly to get Jason off it’s back. Josh came to the scene with another rock and slammed it in it’s face. “Jason, go get the guns!” “It’s too far, I won’t make it in time! The robot grabbed Josh’s arm, and threw him to the ground. Quickly, Jason went behind a nearby tree, and hid. The robot was confused, he screeched in fury, and grabbed Josh again, this time lifting him up. It screamed again, and threw Josh at a tree. “Ugh” Josh moaned, in pain. The robot turned around and tried to get another hit at Josh, but this time Jason went running with a large log in his hand. The log was face forward and slammed right into the robots chest. It fell to the ground, but got up again, screeching in anger. Josh got up and tried to wrestle the robot. His maneuver worked, and the robot was struggling to get up. “Manipulation Knife” thought Jason. He quickly went to his bag and pulled it out. He opened the robots chest, and found a heart beating. Below it was a bunch of wires. He went, and cut them all up. The robot stopped moving, and smoke was coming out of it’s mouth, and chest. They went from it, and sat down, exhausted. “I don’t get it,” started Josh, “how could that have happened? I tracked it with the radar, but it didn’t come up.” “It was modified.” Jason said, “Now we can’t track them down anymore.” “Damnit, Dr. Rose. Why are you doing this to us?” Josh said, looking towards the sky. “Maybe he’s not the only one…” Kyle and Ryan used the laser, and made a hole through the wall. It was empty inside. “That’s strange.” Kyle said. They went inside, and closed in the hole. They made another, but quietly. They saw a muscular man sitting in a chair. “That must be Dr. Koric.” whispered Ryan. The robot opened it’s mouth, and it started talking again. “What have you got finished so far on the robot?” asked Dr. Rose. “It’s almost complete. After years of working, it will be done soon. I just need you to do the final modifications. Maybe we could work out a deal? I’ll give you 250 million if you do the modifications. What do you say?” said Dr. Koric. “Haha, are you kidding me? Do you know how big this thing is? Only 250? You’re going to have to raise it up to at least 500 if you want that to happen!” said Dr. Rose, aggressively. “You’re insane if you think I’ll do that!” screamed Dr. Koric. “Then it looks like we have no deal…” said Dr. Rose, turning off the transmission. Dr. Koric punched the robot in the jaw, with anger. It flew off, and Dr. Koric’s hand started bleeding. “No good, bastard.” He muttered. He looked into the corner and said, “You two, quit hiding and show yourselves.” Tuesday, January 18th, 2085- 11:46 AM- Antarctica ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Lance was running for cover. Bullets were flying everywhere. His mission leader was dead. “Aw man. This is so not good.” He said He crawled over to the right a bit, and started shooting. Instead, a bullet went into his shoulder cap. “Aaagh!” he screamed in pain. His shoulder was bleeding furiously. He could hardly see, everything was blurry. A person was coming out of the snow. It was… Dr. Rose. Lance thought he was crazy, and fainted. All the robots stopped, and the soldiers looked at Dr. Rose. “You’ll all die. No one can save you now.” He said silently. A huge drill-like robot came through the snow. It’s head looked like a drill, and it had two big arms. It was massive. The robot leaped in the air and shot out two giant canons from it’s arms. It made a huge impact in the ground. Flames grew among the ground. All the soldiers were dead. Some were struggling to get out of the flames. Fortunately, Lance was covered under thick layers of snow. Dr. Rose slowly walked out, and disappeared in the storm. Everything seems hopeless now. Dr. Rose has betrayed everyone, and now how will they stop the war? Next… Chapter 4: Mission 2: Dr. Rose- A Bitter Trail Last edited by Salty; April 27th, 2009 at 05:08 PM. |
