Okay, another one shot. I want to expand a bit. So, yeah, Kairi!

1, 2 Kairi's mom sat at a table, while Kairi knelt in front. Kairi's mom started to brush Kairi's hair. They did this every night. It was always so hectic, so this was their quiet time. Kairi breathed in the sea smell from the driftwood table, relaxing under the familiarity of the scene.

"So, how was your day?" 3,4 Always a good way for her mom to start off a conversation.

"Pretty good. Nothing really happened at school, other than Mrs. Kaishiki is giving us a Math test in a week." was Kairi's semi frustrated answer.11,12

"Really? How is everyone in the class doing?" 14,15 She's thinking about Sora Kairi thought.

"Everyone's good. Riku gets it the best , of course, next is Tidus and Wakka. Then it finishes up with Sora and Selphie. Sora COULD get it, but he just lacks focus." 25, 26 Kairi's mom made an indistinct noise.

"And what was after school?" 27, 28

"Oh, our island. It was great there. Tidus and Wakka ran through the basics of this water game they made up. But they're missing a few stuff... If the can get a good rule book in place and a court, it should be great!" 37, 38

"Are... are you going to ever not go to the island? Sometimes... I worry." 43, 44

"about what?"45

"That, that you won't grow up. I like your friends, but sometimes... they can be a little immature. They're not crude, but they don't seem to have really grown up. Except Riku... and Sora sometimes" 56, 57

The silence after this statement was punctuated only by the soft sound of the brush as the sunset gleamed off of various metal appliances in the kitchen. 61,62

"They grew up alot in the year or so they were gone. They changed alot. They had too. Surviving on their own was alot harder than they thought." Her voice turned sad as she thought about all they had gone through. Silence reigned in the kitchen 71,72

"Okay, so, what did they do on the island?" Nice try at levity, Mom 74,75

"We play fought, raced, did some homework, nothing big." I like it because it is so simple,mom. We need more than the others 81,82

"Kairi... You know I love you, I really just wants what's best. And... I'm afraid you're growing up to fast. Just..."91, 92

"I know mom." It was quiet then as they thought. 99,100 Kairi got up, walked over to her mother, kissed her, and went to bed.













Okay, not great. What do you think?

It was a pretty good story, not that great, but still good. I didn't really understand the whole numbers thing; did not understand why they were there. Anyway, good story.

It's an old tradition for a women to brush their hair with 100 strokes before they went to bed. Her mom is giving her the 100 stokes.

But, yeah, I wasn't quite feeling it. I may end up reworking it, I don't like it that much.
