| A FAWKING KEY-TRIKE? STOOPID IDEA!! | The very fact that Kaiba shed blood, especially that of a mere girl, was pure excellent and I loved it. I can't say there's nothing noticeable that I didn't like. More description I say. |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() ![]() Level: 35 EXP: | 19 “I don’t get Vampires” Veronica stated, throwing a rock into the road. Veronica, Ren, and Bertha were sitting on the sidewalk. “Why do they want to live forever? It would get boring, and you can’t enjoy anything.” “Nothing but pleasure…” Ren sighed. “And wouldn’t you want that?” The sunset made the town glow orange as the families who lived there hurried back home. Ren through another stone into the street, narrowly missing a car. “And you’d get tired of that.” Bertha retorted. She stopped herself from throwing, she would have hit a kid. “And what about those around you.” Ceallach had arrived, she rested her head in her hands, and allowed her black hair to fall across her face. Through it, she peeked greedily at the child across the street. “We may still be married, but I want nothing more to do with that… demon.” “And why do humans want to live forever too… same applies…” Veronica continued on in her funk before backtracking. “You know, you never answered what led Kaiba and Mokuba to be born.” Ceallach shook her hair away from her face. “You sure you want to hear that? It’s a sad story.” The three eager faces turned towards the banshee, so with a sigh, she continued. “I met Apopis on a battlefield you could say, I fell in love with that despicable demon, and he fell in love with me. It was stupid… I acted like the 25 year old I…was…” She fell silent for a few seconds. “A soul and a moving body can’t do too much, so we made a deal. With a Demon. Our Children, if conceived in a certain timeframe, would be have the abilities of their gendered parents…We worked so hard… but we must have miscounted…” she broke down into sobs, dusk settling gently over the area. Ren started to shift around a bit, then left, muttering something about worrying her dinner would burn. Bertha and Veronica hurried over to help Ceallach calm down. “I worry about them… when our time was up we had to leave. Well, I had to force Apopis out. As a human, he cared. As a vampire… he had no soul left.” She sniveled and wiped away tears. It broke Veronica’s heart to see her like this. Ceallach, she had been so maternal… “And they’re not back yet… I hope nothing’s happened to Seto.” “How’d you force Apopis out? He’s the head Apopian Vampire, isn’t he?” Bertha asked, a bit insensitively. Ceallach chuckled. “I’m an elite Banshee. I can cast white magic, who doesn’t work with Dark Magic, and vice versa… for the most part anyway. I can reset dark spells, and create barriers, but I can’t heal someone with Dark Magic…” A chill has fallen over the town, so they hurried back to Veronica’s room. Veronica set about making hot chocolate for Bertha and herself, since Ceallach didn’t eat, and they relaxed for a bit. Ceallach was right, NOTHING had happened for about 2 days now, something had to be coming soon. To answer that question, veronica’s phone rang. “Veronica, I need you in my office now, phone call for you.” James growled. “and get Bertha here! She’s going to need to do some research.” She placed the phone down and looked up. “I need to go, you to Bertha…” Bertha looked a little shocked, then embarrassed, then rose from the wooden table. Ceallach followed. “I’m not staying here by myself!” The Bertha shrugged behind Ceallach’s back, and then the three hurried out. The trio arrived quickly, and Bertha shut the door behind them. James was standing there, arms crossed. He jerked his head from Veronica too his office, then she followed him in. A phone was lying off his hook. ”Pick it up.” He growled. “You need to hear it.” Unsure, Veronica picked up the phone. “Hello?” “Veronica? What are you doing…?” Yugi… it was Yugi! What was Yugi doing calling James. “How’d you get this number?” ”The Lawyers… they found it. Well, they found the number for a pay phone and it ended up getting forwarded here.” “Lawyers, what lawyers?” “Kaiba’s lawyers. Mokuba’s missing.” ”WHAT!” Veronica was in shock. Well, she shouldn’t be after how many times MOkuba had been kidnapped, but the only person after them currently was… nobody. “Did he run away or something?” ”Not that anyone can tell. The only thing unusual was there was a few strange stray dogs hanging around their house. No one knows anything else besides that.” Veronica sat down in James’ chair. Strange…dogs… Vampires? Why did they want Mokuba? Leverage against Kaiba? But for what? And they would have to know that Kaiba was Kaiba… but how would they? “Veronica?” “I’m here… sorry… nothing else?” “Nope. They’ll want Kaiba back soon though. No one knows what is going on.” “I… I understand.” “Where is Kaiba?” “He had to go…somewhere. I can get messages to him though. I’ll… let him know. Talk to you soon Yugi.” She hung up, fear in her eyes. James nodded. “I heard you. Tell his mom.” With shaking legs, Veronica walked out to where Ceallach was gliding. “Ceallach… Mokuba’s gone.” Ceallach’s face turned a paler shade of green. “No, no… he CAN’T be…” “I just talked to a good friend, he wouldn’t lie to me… especially not about that.” “NO! Not that… something else… Apopis… he couldn’t know… how easy… their adoption, how easy would it be to trace it?” “Pretty easy, they were adopted by someone with a high profile.” Ceallach’s form shimmered, before almost literally pulling herself together. “He’s planning it, he has to be… and I doubt even someone like you would be immune.” “what do you mean someone like her?” Bertha chimed in over Ceallach’s distracted tone. Bertha had already pulled up about 5 different internet searches and news sites. “She hasn’t told you yet, has she?” Ceallach seemed…coy? Why? “go ahead…” Veronica knew why, Ceallach was trying to cope. How better then to make others feel as lost as she was. Well.. “I don’t know what you are talking about.” Veronica fired back. “I do.” There was a weird smile. “When were you born?” “1988!” Nothing weird about that. However… “And when did you die?” There it was. Bertha’s head snapped up. “Unless you are accusing her of being a vampire, in which case she couldn’t even be in this room, don’t ask that! It’s just weird.” Her words washed over Veronica and Ceallach’s mini staring contest. “1925” Veronica sighed. “I’m a ghost.” -------- Ren paced outside the city limits. Where was he? They needed to discuss something, now. With a quiet thump Ren heard someone land behind her. With a sigh of relief she saw Apopis and a new vampire, a young African American woman, stand behind her. “What are you planning? Ceallach’s getting suspicious of what took you so long. You better keep up your end of the deal though, or I’ll go straight to James.” “I wouldn’t worry about that.” Apopis chuckled. This wasn’t good. “Hupendi, I give you your first meal, just leave some left, I want her to know the agony of defeat.” He turned to look at Ren, a terrified look flitting across her face. “Ren Field, your services are no longer required.” Then Ren felt a sharp pain on her neck. Chapter 19 is FINALLY up! So, let us see... Mokuba has been kidnapped, we found out about ceallach's deal, We found out Veronica is a ghost, and Ren was the spy! Ren is named after a character in Dracula called "Renfield" (Ren Field... yeah...) who worked for Dracula since Renfield was insane and believed that by drinking blood of larger and larger animals he could stay alive longer. He died when he realized Dracula had targeted Mina Harker and tried to stop Dracula, leading to Dracula killing him. (Hurrah Renfield!) Sorry for the delay! |

Rep Power: 10 ![]() ![]() Level: 35 EXP: | Chapter 20 Kaiba landed lightly in the cave. He folded his wings against his back…. Blooded. He was Blooded. The taste of the woman’s blood still remained in his mouth. Salty… bitter, but incredibly satisfying. He walked over to a wall, as several other vampires either flew in or ran into the cave. “What type?” Kaiba started as Thorn walked behind him. “The blood… what type?” She wrapped her hands around his waist. “Really… your first drinking… Mariatu was overjoyed.” “I still have a headache when she woke me up. How did I get back to the glade?” “Apopis brought you back.” Apopis? Why would he? How did Apopis find him anyway? “Speaking of Apopis… where is he?” He should have arrived to the cave ahead of them. Then he had made a detour with Hupendi , but he should be back by now… “Behind you, Seto Kaiba.” Thorn drew away… chuckling. Kaiba turned away from the wall to face Apopis. “You must have me confused… I’m Augustine Kaley.” “Give it up. We’ve ALWAYS heard your heart.” Thannos sniped. Kaiba instinctively reached up for his chest, before dropping his hand. They could hear it? He hadn’t heard it. “I have no idea what you are talking about.” He was a business man, he bluffed all the time. Even when his life was on the line, which was happening a bit too often for his liking, “Yes… you do.” Apopis walked forward from the cave entrance into the cave itself. His eyes glowed red and the other vampires closed ranks behind Apopis. There were chuckles, hisses, and just general noises that came off as rather ominous. “Get the halfbreed.” He ordered. Kaiba turned to punch one of the Apopian vampires, but the vampire dodged and another came behind him and kicked out his knees. The stone floor sent reverberations up Kaiba’s legs as Thannos grabbed Kaiba’s hair and pulled his head back, then stepped on his calves. Apopis walked forward and knelt down in front of Kaiba. “We’ve known you were a spy since you arrived. We could hear your heartbeat, we could see your eyes, you were unblooded and no longer a newborn… you kept your soul but were still an Apopian Vampire… a Dhampyr. And the only way there COULD be an Apopian Dhampyr was by being my son. So I did some searching. Your adoption was quite the public matter, wasn’t it… “ Apopis chuckled, the fetid breath rolling over Kaiba’s sense of smell. “And so... I found out you were now named Seto Kaiba. Which then let me fast track a particular plan of mine…” Apopis straightened up and walked away. “Mariatu…” The Mali vampire nodded and ran off. “That does explain why that creature who was my wife was so interested in you though…” “What do you want with me then.” Kaiba growled. Apopis looked over his shoulder, a smile flitting over his features. “What makes you think I wanted YOU?” The smirk… What… He was a dhampyr… he was captured… what DID he… “LET ME GO!” Mariatu dragged a struggling Mokuba into the room by his hair. Mokuba turned and saw Kaiba… “SETO!” “MOKI!” What… “Let him go.” Kaiba ordered at the heap of flesh that was his father. Apopis turned towards Kaiba and shook his head. “No. I won’t. You see… I need him. You know about Black Magic, yes?... apparently not. “ he remarked upon seeing Kaiba’s still angry face. “It requires a sacrifice… and the specific spell I have in mind requires blood from a relative. And you two are my only BLOOD relations yet. “ He gave an evil grin, his fangs being disturbingly protruding. “I’ll need yours.” “Let me go… take mine. Leave him alone.” Kaiba pleaded. “Just… leave my brother alone.” “No… son.” Kaiba held back an involuntary shudder. “Your blood is filled with the possibility for dark magic. And as such… it cannot be used. I need magic free blood. Like your brothers…” The fangs gleamed. Kaiba tried to turn into mist, only to realize he couldn’t concentrate like he wanted… Thannos’ grip made sure of that. Apopis walked over to the still struggling Mokuba, and to put his hand on Mokuba’s hair, relieving Mariatu of the duty. “Get me the implement” he muttered, Mokuba’s face had gone pale. He didn’t know WHAT was going on… just that it was bad. “Seto… what is going on?” He pleaded. Thorn walked over to Apopis, holding a knife. Kaiba knew. “No!” He threw his head back, and knocked Thannos in the midriff. As he staggered back, Kaiba darted forward and was subsequently decked by Apopis. As Kaiba fell, he tasted blood and his vision blurred for a second. He tried to sit up, but Apopis knelt down and placed his right hand on Kaiba’s leg, then exerted pressure. “Get this straight, Seto. You are faster than a human” the pressure increased. “Stronger then a human.” His bones were straining. “But you are not as fast or as strong as us.” Kaiba inhaled, trying to relieve the pain. It came as a hiss. His hands grappled with the floor. He couldn’t reach forward as long as Apopis rested on his leg like this. Just as Kaiba waited to hear his leg crack, Apopis lifted the pressure, and kicked Kaiba so he rolled away. Kaiba coughed up some more blood as a green figure wafted into the picture. Mother Ceallach? “Apopis… what are you doing?” Ceallach flew over to Kaiba, before spotting her other son restrained by Mariatu. “You… you can’t…” As Kaiba straightened up, Ceallach threw her right hand to the side, to summon a book. Then, shouting in Gaelic, she held out her left hand. Apopis responded with a phrase in German, the spell throwing back both Kaiba and Ceallach. The blood on the floor vanished as Apopis finished saying his spell. “I am doing what no one else has, Kelly. I found a spell so Vampires rule… a complete and total brainwash. All humans obey and the weather keeps us safe. And all it takes is a lot of human sacrifices.” Thannos snickered as Kaiba realized what he meant. “The people disappearing from Bram…” Apopis nodded as he walked back towards Mokuba, who Mariatu had pinned to the ground. Kaiba rested his hand on the cave wall before staggering forward to attack again. But it was too late. Apopis had grabbed the knife, lifted Mokuba’s head, and slashed his throat. There was a roar outside, cheering, darkness… but it was just meaningless noise to Kaiba who sunk onto his knees. Mokuba’s face paled as the blood left, his eyes grew dark and blurry, his blood spread over the floor. Soon it mingled with others as captives from the back of the caves were brought out and killed. It meant nothing. Ceallach sat on the ground, wailing. Pain... prediction… both… Kaiba ignored everything... all he wanted… He arrived next to the body… his brother… He lifted the head slowly. “Why… Banshees predict the death of family. He’s DEAD!”Kaiba looked up at that banshee. She just shook her head. “I know… but we may be able to bring them back. You’ll have to go to town though. “ “Why.” Kaiba growled. “You’re the only sane person left.” ----- Chapter 20! Kaiba to Whoever owns him, same with Mokuba. I Never forgot the fact Kaiba could hear heartbeats... the Vampires knew the entire time that Kaiba was a spy. And Mokuba was needed this time around. Poor Kaiba and Ceallach though (the nickname for Ceallach is Kelly. I need a real name for Apopis though... I was thinking Anthony but...) I hope my writing has gotten better, (I have LOTS of fighting in this chapter) but somehow I feel it has taken a few steps back. And this is also to show I do plot! The disappearing people were always a plot point, as was the relation. I should point out the outcome of the spell (next chapter) is world wide. And Kaiba is the only human immune. And,yes, if he wanted he could cast Dark magic. After this, though, I have a feeling he is turned off to the idea. |
