And yes, this club WILL have a ton of Xion haters, as a lot of fans like Rion. But, aside from the jokes, we can be civil about it and discuss reasons why don't believe Rion could exist as a couple and why we dislike the coupling to begin with, just like we do in the HC.

Yet with all the Xion hating already going on, I can see this just becoming another hate club. Despite the fact it is Rion, I've seen hating for Xion but none for Riku :S Seems unfair.

First of all, Strawbs, I don't think Riku "barley" knows Xion. He probably doesn't think about her wheat, either. The word you're looking for is barely.

Second, I can't attest to the other Riku/Xion shippers on here, but;

A) I do not present it as something that should be shipped because it's "kinky." I named the DeviantArt club black-x-blindfold for a laugh, and someone's gone running with it as a reason to hate on us as shippers. Not. Cool.

B) How does it make Riku OOC? At least in the way I write it, it doesn't make Riku any more of a "romantic" than any other pairing with him does.

C) Riku isn't risking Sora for Xion. That seems very clear to me, that he's choosing Sora, but that given the chance, he'd have them both if he could. Giving Xion the chance to do what she thinks she needs to do, and make her own choices, doesn't mean giving Sora up for her.

D) If we're going to talk about "baseless" shippers, then obviously we should be hating all the crack pairings too. I'm sorry, but to me, this shouldn't be listed as a reason in ANY pairing hateclub (except possibily where the two characters actively hate each other) - and not because of the infamous "all pairings are go" interview, either. It's a stupid reason that you could say about almost any pairing.

Also, if we want to talk about RiXi as a reflection of SoRi, it's at least as much a reflection of RiKai, since Xion's nature is basically the two in a blender with some black hair dye.

I was kidding. xD; It was a joking way of saying, "Rion = SoRiku", as I said in that post. I KNOW there aren't a TON of Rion fans who double as SoRiku fans, something I also pointed out in that post. I was just kidding.
Personally, I don't mind jokes about all of us being AkuRoku fangirls. I've seen people JOKE about that before at dA, as in they didn't honestly believe that of us. It's just when so many people actually TRULY believe it that annoys me.

Xion basically IS Roxas and Sora. That's what a replica is. ^^; An extra Sora. An extra Roxas. That's WHO she is. Thus, I and others tend to joke that any male who is hooked up with her is still a yaoi pairing. This includes Rion, which seems to be the most popular Xion coupling out there.

I don't think that's about you. I saw little kids squeeing about how kinky Rion is ages ago, in the Rion FC. I'm sure you'll find it if you dig down.

OOC as in, putting someone else he just met above his best friend who is in a coma and in danger of losing his memories for good and relying on him. I mean, before Days, if I had seen a fic in which Riku went gallivanting around with some OC when Sora was in danger, I would have put a big 'OOC' stamp on it and hit the back button. Wouldn't you?

Also OOC as in, becoming instant BFF with someone he just met. Besides that not really being Riku's personality, I thought after what happened in KH1 Riku had a lot of trust issues, which is why he was always running away and hiding and fighting.

He did. Namine told him to go get Xion or Sora's memories would be forever screwed, then Riku dithered around with Xion wasting time and then let her go back to the Org. Choosing Sora would have meant knocking her out and hauling her to Namine, like he did to Roxas.

I think it's meant to be ironic, because Rion can be seen as based off SoRiku, RikuKairi, or RikuNami.... and the weakest 'base' is actually Xion herself, who Riku hardly knows at the point in time he's holding her in his arms and brushing her hair from her face.



About the SoRiku/Rion thing. I personally think there are many reasons to like a ship, and if I analysed it I'd probably find Rion interesting for the same reasons I find RikuRoku interesting. There are so many questions brought up. Does Riku feel for Xion? Or is it just all coming from his feelings for Kairi/Sora/Namine? And the delicious angst from having to decide who is more important. And Xion herself. Are her feelings based off memories? Whose memories? Or are they real and hers? Does she feel guilty? I love reading fic that explore complicated, messy, broken and dark feelings and weird relationships. It's what I love about RokuNami, actually.

Only problem is, to me, Rion is just a fluffier and slightly less gay version of RikuRoku. It doesn't offer me anything new or tasty. In fact it makes me cranky. And contrary to popular belief re: rabid akuroku fangirls, I ship pretty much everything. I can usually find something I like about a pairing. EVEN RIKU/MICKEY. I AM NOT LYING. But every pairing related to Xion annoys me because of what she represents in my eyes, or creeps me out, and Rion is the most annoying and forced one imo.

No one has to agree with that, of course. Shipping and liking stuff is all based on opinions and personal taste. It's just how I feel, and I think I'm allowed to say how I feel in a club devoted to that opinion...

I used to hate this ship a few months ago, but after talking with people and seeing some stuff (yes, I'm a susceptible bastard) im sort of between dislike and indifference.

LOL, I was hoping someone would bring up Twilight. No offence to any Edward/Bella fans here, but I see Rion as some weird reincarnation of that pairing or something. My two least favorite heterosexual pairings in one. (if Rion even is hetero... oh well >_>;)

And for some reason, Axel is the one that seems more like Jacob than Roxas to me. Personality-wise, at least.

more reasons why this pairing don't work:
1.they met in a poorly written game.
2.what girl would go for a guy when the first time they met he beet her ass that's like kairi being into Axel after he kidnapped her.
3.this pairing really don't matter cause Xion was almost paired with everybody in days
4.if riku dose have a interest in xion it's only because she looks like kairi.

I think the bondage stuff is from "her" being an "it." In which case, Riku would be the M to the S&M scenario. But the blindfold could have to do with it (like one of them taking it off and using it to easily/quickly tie down the other one's hands). I think it's more lulzy than it is fan(ly?)-thing. :/

I agree with this. Yeah, there's probably going to be plenty of Xion hate, but I think as long as it's Rion-related hate, we should be okay. This club is still brand-new; it needs time to grow.

As a fan who loves multiple crack pairings, I must say that the problem I find with this pairing is that it feels like a crack pairing made canon without much explanation. One moment we see her screaming at him, and the next cutscene, we see them acting like BFFs. OTP or not, if Demyx and Kairi did something like that in canon, I would NOT be happy. It's okay to enjoy a crack pairing outside of canon, but if it BECOMES canon, the writers need to explain why it's gone from bizarre to reasonable.

What is up with my least favorite KH pairings having some weird connection to Edward/Bella (aka my least favorite hetero pairing)?
First, (Eclipse spoiler, nothing BBS) Bella wants get married on 8/13. That's AkuRoku day, and I hate AkuRoku.
Then there's everything we just said about Rion being the equivalent to Edward/Bella.
