GJ's Poetry Thread: In the spirit of inspiration.

Yeah, so, I have done so much writing lately, I just can't stop smiling. =D

I had not written anything for a couple of months and I notice now that I really missed it. So now suddenly I have a fanfic up and running, a poetry guide which suddenly popped into my head, and some RP's. Inspiration is really on my side these days.

So I thought why not a poetry thread as well? xD

Before I have only written poems in Dutch so I really like to try it out in English. I'll post two poems here in English which I used in my poetry guide as well, just to kick it off. One of them is actually an translation from one of my Dutch ones, but well. And I think I will be creating a new one now as well. Yeah, that would do. ^^

Let's begin, hope you enjoy it! (Btw, last one is the new one)

The sounds of Goodbye

These sounds in the air,
have only importance to me.
Peacefully you stroke my hair,
and let me be.

These are the notes you play,
for me, and me alone.
These are the feelings which you may,
share only with me, and me alone.

This is your song for me,
which will carve your soul forever in mine.
This is you, me, us, togheter,
now I can peacefully cross the line.

Goodbye, my love,

Till the next life.



Tied to memories

One day,
One play,
One grey,
Grey sky.

I lost the match,
of love, of hope.
But what's the catch?
This golden rope.

I'm tied to this life,
which lost its meaning.
Its core, my strife,
My heart is crying.

But I won't sigh,
in this world I hate.
And I will lie,
because my heart is dying.



Inspiration

This world is filled
With sound
With noise

This world is filled
With colors bound
With hearts rejoice

This world around us
Is filled...with inspiration
Is filled with thoughts
Of this sensation

This feeling I get
Only once in a while
This feeling I get
Creates my style

I will write
I will create

I will make it worth your while

So please listen to me...

Btw, I'm a bit out of things to write about at the moment, as I already have made so many in Dutch. So if anyone knows a good thing to make a poem about, speak up! I'll write one. ^^

I think I'll post a new one soon, but not now. I have a huge hangover at the moment, and my final spanish exam in a few hours...and I haven't studied at all yet... xDDD

Where I live has nothing to do with the late first glass though, I just didn't feel like it drinking before. (Actually I didn't feel like drinking yesterday either, but everybody said I had to at least try it^^)

So, appoligies for the spamming posts earlier and here are some new poems!

First one is inspired by the game 'The world ends with you'. I never heard of it till recently, but the title totally awakened my inspiration. xD The poem has nothing to do with the game, as I know nothing about it, just used the title and went from there. Ended up diffirent then I wanted, but I like it anyway.

Second just popped into my head when I thought of the word creativity. Also ended up diffirent then I thought at first, but that is what poetry is all about in my eyes, just go with the flow! =P

Third one I thought of when I listened to the song 'Food in the Belly' by Xavier Rudd. Title is a piece of the lyrics.

Here they are!:

The world ends with you

I walked through the streets
of a city tainted
a city corrupted
and a world full of love

I crossed through the water
of a sea so clear
a sea so lovely
and a world full of love

I travelled through the green
of a forest so quiet
a forest so lively
and a world full of love

To arrive at this sadness
of a graveyard with stones
a stone with your name
in a world without love...

For the world ended with you


Creativity

You've got a mind full of thoughts
verbal, creative
With a hand eagering above
original, progressive

A hand above a paperblank
waiting, obsessive
With a pen gripped tightly
wanting, agressive

You write a story
fill the space
You draw in glory
a gentle face

Creativity truly is impressive

...if its you.


Love on your side

Strange strings of light
figures of God
Weird forms of life
shadows are shot

Strings through the darkness
red, blue, green, white
Forms for your sadness
ridding you of spite

Rainbows of happiness
protecting you from tears
Bright clouds of loveliness
keeping you from fears

So, please...be happy with this light

And know, that love is by your side

Just looking at how it sounds and flows, I like the third one the most. If I look at the subject of the poem I like the first one better though. The second one is nice, but I don't like it as much as the other two.

And an 8.4 is pretty good!!!

GJ, your poetry is awesome man! I've never been good at writing poetry, but I have certainly written short stories. I loved the last three the best! They flowed nicely and the words used were cool! 10/10 from me, even though I know it isn't being graded.
