so i've been having a problem with my music library lately. i think i have a virus but i'm not sure.

i use windows media player for my cd-rips and my torrent downloads. i haven't downloaded anything new recently but my WMP starts freaking out everytime i start playing a song. everytime the song gets to about 1:40 the sounds stops, and by 1:43 or so the player stops altogether and so does my whole system. not even the "end program" thing, it just does nothing. i have to unplug my latptop and take out the battery.

any suggestions as to what to try doing to fix this? it's quite aggravating not being able to listen to my music.

NOTE: a Norton scan didn't bring anything up, but i guess that doesn't mean anything exactly.

Title. What are your favorites?

I used to rely consistently on Flashget (although I often experimented with others), but as I grew up and began to use sites like Rapidshare/megaupload/easy-share/etc and under the impression download managers did not function with those, I began to use it less and less and forget I had it most of the time.

Recently, a friend's introduced me to DownThemAll, a firefox addon that functions as a download manager. I used to have this before, but didn't recall it being particularly great and didn't use it very often, if at all. I dunno what the hell was up with that, because honestly, it's fantastic. I get up to 500 KB/s easily with it, even on the aforementioned file sharing sites, which has reinforced my decision to keep Firefox as my main browser from now on.

Other Wii import enablers?

Have there been any other methods found after the Wii Freeloader got kicked out with the new firmware update? Preferably one without having to mod the console itself?

I heard that some Wii games would be released as region free games in future, but apparently not all. So it would be good to find some alternative way.

Thanks. :3

Computer Technology 2010

Some of you have probably heard that PC technology has quite a bit to offer throughout the next year. Here's a list of what's coming...

*PCIE 3.0:* That's right, video card bandwidth increase for some of those heavier games (Crysis). And with DirectX 11's new tessellation features and Windows 7's far superior stability over Vista, game developers are bound to make a push toward making some solid-looking games over the next couple years.

*USB 3.0:* It took long enough, but USB 3.0 is finally coming. And now with 10x the data transfer rates! While USB 2.0 only does 480Mb/s, 3.0 will make a leap all the way to 4.8Gb/s!

*SATA 3.0:* SATA speeds will be doubling up to 6Gb/s during next year, which means SATA II will be more mainstream. While this won't be significant for the average user, it will certainly save time for those who are often moving files between drives, and those who have RAID setups. So it's still a little something nice for some of the advanced users.

So looking at what's coming, many computer enthusiasts will more than likely be purchasing a new motherboard by the end of next year in order to get all these nifty little features. Especially those who enjoy playing some of the graphically heavier games, since PCIE 3.0 will offer more power to their gaming rigs.

Discuss. Or if there's anything I missed, please add.
