I don't have any official information as of yet like an artical but all this appears to be happening. like a live action remake of the fantasia classic scene

Starring Nicholas Cage
From IMDB
A sorcerer leaves his workshop in the hands of his apprentice, who
gets into trouble when the broomstick he's tasked to do his chores for him somehow develops a mind of its own.

Kick-Ass

From the original writer of Wanted, we are brought another comic book adaptation. Except this one promises to be more faithful than Wanted was.

Kick-Ass Video by Trailer Park - MySpace Video (http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=100571743&searchid=5760ec01-5e1c-4e5c-be29-64fd449d3b2a)

Kick-Ass is about a comic book superhero fan who takes the obsession a little bit too far.

Directed by Matthew Vaughn (Layer Cake, Stardust) and starring Aaron Johnson as Kick-Ass, Chloe Moretz as Hit Girl, Christopher Mintz-Plasse as Red Mist and Nicholas Cage as Big Daddy. Mark Strong also stars as the bad guy of the flick.

This promises to be far more violent than Wanted should have been and there will be an assload of profanity since they're just adapting Millar's comic book script. In fact, Vaughn was so adamant about being faithful to the book in terms of violence and profanity and characters that they had trouble finding funding and a distributor. So, you know this will be over the top.

I saw this the other day. It's really good. Just saying. I laughed, I cried, I was angry... yada yada yada. Anyway I think this movie hasn't really received much credit, especially given it's originality. Seriously, go see it.

---Quote---
Mark Bellison (Ricky Gervais) lives in a world just like our own, but no one lies there. Everyone is completely honest all the time. The first half of the movie shows Mark's sad life a struggling loser, and how he is insulted by his completely honest coworkers, his Mom, and Anna (Jennifer Garner), his date. His Mom gets sick, and he makes up a story about an afterlife to help comfort his Mom on her deathbed. Doctors and nurses overhear him, and soon Mark becomes an international authority on the afterlife. People camp on his lawn to learn more. Mark develops a story about the "Man in the Sky," who functions like God, and he pastes his theology on two pizza boxes like Moses and the ten commandments. Mark learns to lie to help his friends, get money at the bank, cheat at the casino, and eventually to win the affection of Anna.

Looks sort of interesting in previews, right?

Worst movie I have ever seen. I'm serious, when it all ended, I just sighed in a facepalm and prayed for Hollywood. I have never seen a movie so terribly ruined with absolutely stupid plot elements that are so confusing and ridiculously convoluted to the point where you can't even begin to try to make sense of it all.

There's a huge supernatural element, and I don't even know what to call it.

Only watch it if you want to laugh at how far down Hollywood as gone, but chances are you might just cry instead for how terrible movies have become.

Your thoughts?

Just saw this movie. Loved it. Exciting and tinged every nerve ending of paranoia in my body. I was on the edge of my sit biting my hand whenever people were wandering around their house alone. Better than Disturbia.

Ending pissed me off though.

This is scarier than shit-ass Paranormal Activity :l

KHI November Movie of the Month: Duck Soup (1933)

Image: http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/610/ducksoup1933dvd.jpg

For those unfamiliar with the Marx Bros., the ultimate comedy troupe in film, here is a 101:

The Marxs are a successful vaudevillian and performing arts family. Each of them is proficient in some field in music and has some other performing talent, as well as stage names. The stories behind these names are interesting alone. They enjoyed performing in cabarets and Broadway before hitting motion pictures in the early 1900s.

Image: http://img136.imageshack.us/img136/2174/grouchomarxt.jpg
*Julius "Groucho" Marx-* The most famous of the brothers, Groucho is known as one of the first masters of the one-liner, and has an astounding wit both on and off screen. He also tends to take up a lot of the screen time, but viewers are often voracious when it comes to Groucho. His character has a greasepaint moustache and eyebrows, walks in such a way that it is now used as an exercise in calisthenics and it shares his name, and often says what most of us are afraid to say. Charlie Chaplin once told him that he wished he had his ability to speak in front of the camera, when Chaplin iss already an elegant speaker.

Image: http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/8139/harpomarx.jpg
*Adolph "Harpo" Marx-* Getting his stage name from the instrument he is absolutely amazing at and plays in each of their films, Harpo is a mute character. He takes his roots as a mime and silent comedian and shines these in Harpo. He wears a red wig, is usually in rags, has a cane with a horn bulb at the top that he communicates with beyond charades, and he is absolutely batshit crazy. He can usually be found chasing blondes.

Image: http://img526.imageshack.us/img526/3006/5574657.jpg
*Leonard "Chico" Marx-* For the uninformed, his name is prounounced "chick-o," after being a notorious "chicken chaser." Chico is a master at the piano, with a unique playing style. He has a hashed up, phony Italian accent that you will love him for. He wears a cone hat, dark wig, and ragtag clothing. He usually does the talking for Harpo when everyone else misunderstands. He and Groucho have many scenes together, usually in an improv style in which one builds off the other in a series of one-liners.

Image: http://img222.imageshack.us/img222/4865/zeppo02.jpg
*Herbert "Zeppo" Marx-* The youngest of the brothers, Zeppo is the straight man. He is only featured in 5 Marx Bros. films, and does not have a developed personality to the extent that the others do. There's not much to say about Zeppo, he's not featured all that much and he's handsome. Apparently Zeppo didn't leave films because he was any less talented as his brothers, because he was JUST AS talented. He preferred the business side of things so he became an agent.

I see the Marx brothers' personae and I see a homages to film. Groucho is the talkie, Chico is the foreign, Harpo the silent film, and Zeppo... well uh, Zeppo is Zeppo. Everything in between maybe.

Image: http://img337.imageshack.us/img337/7158/prepare.jpg

Really any movie that features this group is good, the reason why Duck Soup made the MotM is that it's probably the best one, of course. The reason why that is, though, is something simple. The other films had segments that featured romances and melodrama that served to move the plot, and that's really it. The producers thought that nobody would see their films without these elements, and as such they were plugged in. Looking back, this is the biggest mistake they ever made to these films. I admit to being one that skips through these elements as they are boring and stupid.

Image: http://img511.imageshack.us/img511/9518/pajamah.jpg

Duck Soup on the other hand, features very little of this. It is Brothers Brothers Brothers the entire time, and is funny the entire time. Their films feature a very Jewish, witty sort of humor that isn't really found anywhere else besides, maybe Noir films or retro cartoons. They are the biggest anarchists in film ever. Each of their films lampoons something big; in this case, war and politics.

While crazy the entire time, the films reach the nexus of insanity as it crescendos to the end. Every one of their endings is chaotic in someway. Duck Soup's ending is a battlefield in a less than conventional battle with stupid and silly reasons why the countries are at war in the first place. It's awesome.

hfVnWH_PCME

Another thing to understand about these guys is that their movies are best looked at in segments. While they sustain a certain unity exclusive to the Marx Bros, the segments themselves are well crafted and magical in themselves. Films of related sketch scenes. It's hard not to mimic them or take something away from seeing one of their films.

Image: http://img510.imageshack.us/img510/1839/ducksoup2.jpg

If one is to start anywhere, start with Duck Soup. Get your family to watch it.

He wears a red wig, is usually in rags, has a cane with a horn bulb at the top that he communicates with beyond charades, and he is absolutely batshit crazy. He can usually be found chasing blondes.

Leonard "Chico" Marx- For the uninformed, his name is prounounced "chick-o," after being a notorious "chicken chaser." Chico is a master at the piano, with a unique playing style.

Herbert "Zeppo" Marx- The youngest of the brothers, Zeppo is the straight man.

If one is to start anywhere, start with Duck Soup. Get your family to watch it.
Another one of those musicals that I am just so fond of. The music was quite good, and it had some amazing people in it (Like Anthony Stewart Head and Alexa Vega). But yeah, here's the little information of it (straight from Wikipedia):

Repo! The Genetic Opera - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Repo!_The_Genetic_Opera)

It's also the one movie *where Paris Hilton doesn't suck*. If she died right now she would not be a failure just because she did this movie.

*Cast:*
Alexa Vega (Spy Kids)
Anthony Steward Head (Buffy The Vampire Slayer)
Paris Hilton (One Night In Paris)
Sarah Brightman (She's a singer)
Nivek Ogre (He has a band called Skinny Puppy)
Bill Moseley (I would name something but for the life of me I don't know what else he has done)
Paul Sorvino (GoodFellas)
Terrance Zdunich (He also helped in writing and such for the movie and stage version)

*Cameos:*
Joan Jett (Hehe ^_^ )
Nina Dobrev (Degrassi =D )

*Videos:** (I can't promise these won't contain spoilers. Kthxbai)*

*Fans of this movie:*
-Meeee
-Audo =D
-Karutomaru (which I'm surprised about because this isn't Viewtiful Joe)

*People who don't like this movie and think it doesn't mesh good together and such:*
