According to IGN, these shows are on the verge of being canceled of ratings continue to decline:

---Quote---
_*Accidentally on Purpose*_
This new CBS comedy is definitely in the "wait and see" period. While it's the lowest rated show on the network's Monday night schedule, Accidentally has been doing okay, and five additional episodes were ordered beyond the initial thirteen. The ratings for upcoming episodes will obviously be closely monitored.

_*Brothers*_
This critically lambasted, very low-rated FOX comedy has wrapped up production on its initial thirteen-episode order and is almost certainly dead beyond that.

_*Cold Case*_
Last season, CBS chose renewing this series over Without a Trace, but with the ratings down, it's unlikely Cold Case will survive past the end of this season.

_*Community*_
This show has been gaining some passionate fans, but it also has struggled on Thursday nights. A full 22-episode season has been ordered, and the widespread perception that Community has a lot of promise, coupled with the overall weak ratings for NBC, could help save it when it's time to choose whether to renew it or not.

_*FlashForward*_
This much-hyped new series, touted by some as ABC's hope to replace the soon-to-end Lost in the zeitgeist, has dropped quite a bit from its strong opening and viewership continues to decline. If FlashForward can stabilize soon, it could be saved, but there is doubt as to whether the show will continue past the full 22 episode season order it has – though at least fans will get to see the pivotal events of April 29th, 2010.

_*The Forgotten*_
While hardly a breakout hit for the network, The Forgotten has been given a five-episode pickup, on top of the thirteen episodes ABC first ordered. The show needs to improve in the ratings soon though, or it will definitely live up to its title.

_*Fringe*_
It pains us to put this show on the page, but right now Fringe's future is very uncertain. A move to the ultra-competitive Thursday night/9:00 timeslot has killed a lot of the momentum Fringe had coming out of its first season, and numbers are notably down this year. Because of the talent involved (not the least of which is the continually buzzed about J.J. Abrams) and the notable factor of its new timeslot, Fringe could be given another chance next year after it completes its 22-episode second season, but it currently doesn't appear to be a sure thing.

_*Heroes*_
This is a situation many are curious to follow. Heroes has lost a huge amount of its Season 1 audience in the past three years, going from a peak of over 16 million viewers, to barely over 5 million viewers for recent episodes. Most of the time, these numbers would mean the show was done for sure – but with NBC in such dire straits, Heroes could still come back, thanks to external factors like DVD and oversees sales being relatively strong still for the studio and network, not to mention that the show is still among the strongest in key demographics among a weak lineup.

_*Law & Order*_
It's unclear whether this amazing success story will continue past Season 20. A big drop in the ratings occurred this year, but there is plenty of consideration given to the fact that NBC also moved the show to Fridays. Given the current state of the network, not to mention that it has slowly begun to perform relatively well for its time slot, and it could return once more.

_*Lie to Me*_
FOX is definitely trying their best to turn this Tim Roth procedural into a hit, bringing in a talented new showrunner this season (The Shield creator Shawn Ryan) and pairing the series with their huge hit House. The problem is, Lie to Me continues to lose a large amount of House's audience each week, putting its future in doubt. However, the recent pickup for a full 22-episode season is another sign that FOX continues to nurture Lie to Me.

_*Melrose Place*_
Ratings have been terrible for this new version of the popular 1990s series, and the slight increase from Heather Locklear's recent debut is not enough to save it. Five additional episodes have been ordered, bringing the first season to 18 episodes total – but barring a notable turnaround in the numbers, it's highly doubtful the show will continue past that.

_*Mercy*_
In previous years, the numbers Mercy is getting would have led to a quick cancellation. But NBC is not the network it used to be, and so the so-so numbers for this medical drama have led to a full-season pickup. The show's future beyond that likely depends on how strong NBC's pilot slate is.

_*The Middle*_
While this ABC comedy has been given a full season pickup, it doesn't have the ratings or buzz of Modern Family or Cougar Town. With Hank cancelled, it also doesn't have a show to air alongside going into the new year – how it does alongside whatever its new companion series turns out to be will decide its fate in the spring.

_*Numb3rs*_
The numbers (ahem) for this CBS procedural, now in a very respectable sixth season, have dropped. The network has now cut the season back from 22 to 16 episodes, very likely indicating this will be the last year.

_*Parks and Recreation*_
We're really pulling for this one here at IGN TV, as we highly agree with the overall assessment that Parks and Recreation has found its footing in a huge way in Season 2, turning into one of TV's funniest comedies. The numbers are notably weak, but NBC has ordered a full 22-episode season, and no doubt is aware of the growing critical support and hoping it can gradually lead to more viewers. The fact that the series comes from The Office's Greg Daniels (still the highest rated NBC comedy) could help its standing, as the network mulls over whether to renew Parks in the spring.

_*Smallville*_
Going into the fall, most assumed this would definitely be the final season of Smallville and that it was essentially being put on Friday nights to die. But after a huge drop in the ratings from last year, Smallville has slowly but surely begun to rise on Fridays, giving The CW much better numbers than they had on that night with their previous scripted programming. It's now looking like the show has a very good shot at coming back for a Season 10, but we'll have to wait until the spring to find out for sure.

_*The Spectacular Spider-Man*_
The ratings and critical support were strong for this animated series out of the gate, but several factors way outside the creators' control have affected it – including a change in networks and a long delay between US airings of episodes, while those episodes became easy to find online. In the wake of Sony (who produced the show) relinquishing the TV rights to Spider-Man and the huge Disney/Marvel deal, it's very unclear whether this show will continue or not, but we continue to cross our fingers…

_*Supernatural*_
For years, Supernatural fans worried the show wouldn't get picked up. Now, ironically, some of them worry it will get picked up. We're in Season 5 of a series with a planned five-season arc, so this year will see the resolution of the major plotlines we've been following and some fans think it would be the "natural" place to end the series. However, the numbers continue to be good (by CW standards), and it now seems likely the series will be renewed for a Season 6 after all.

_*Til Death*_
Inexplicably in its fourth season, this always terribly rated sitcom has been pulled from FOX's schedule (again). It almost certainly will be cancelled, but then again, this show has somehow survived in the past…

_*Trauma*_
This show was considered cancelled, with NBC declining to order any more episodes – until a recent about face had the network deciding to order three more episodes, bringing the season to sixteen total. It's probably only prolonging the inevitable, as the show has suffered weak ratings from the start, but for now, Trauma has a second chance.

_*Ugly Betty*_
Once a very buzzed about show, Betty is doing terribly in its new Friday night timeslot and is likely to come to an end after Season 4 concludes in the spring.
---End Quote---

These shows are already dead and will be off the air within the coming months (By January at least):

---Quote---
*_The Beautiful Life_*
The show with the dubious honor of being fall's first cancellation was this ill-conceived model-centric soap (starring Mischa Barton), which only aired two episodes.

*_Dollhouse_*
A miraculous renewal for a second season only put off the inevitable for this ratings starved Joss Whedon series, which has continued to lose viewers most weeks. The series will wrap up with the airing of Season 2's thirteenth episode in January.

*_Eastwick_*
Despite a trio of attractive stars, few viewers tuned in to this new take on the popular book and film, The Witches of Eastwick. ABC has decided to end the series after episode 13.

*_Hank_*
One of the fall's most critically trashed new series, Hank, starring Kelsey Grammar, was obviously the weak link in ABC's new comedy lineup on Wednesdays and the network pulled the plug after airing five episodes.

Pokémon: Arceus and the Jewel of Life, (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=10552) the latest Pokémon film which opened in Japanese theaters just four months ago, is premiering on American television on Friday afternoon with more showings later in the week. The 12th Pokémon film runs on the Cartoon Network at 5:30 p.m. ET/PT on Friday, as well as at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, and at 8:30 a.m. on November 28. A trailer (http://www.pokemonarceus.com/) is available on the official website.

The film is the final part of the Pokémon Diamond & Pearl Trilogy, after 2007's Pokémon: The Rise of Darkrai (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=7674) and 2008's Pokémon: Giratina and the Sky Warrior. (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=9201) Kunihiko Yuyama, the director of most of the Pokémon projects as well as of three Slayers and Kimagure Orange Road films, travelled to the Greek monasteries of Metéora for research. Metéora is considered a holy site and has been listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The film will ship on DVD next spring. The 13th film, Pocket Monster: Diamond & Pearl Platinum, will debut in Japan in summer of 2010.

Well today is my birthday and I really got off to a great start this morning because I watched Turtles Forever. It. Was. Freaking. Awesome. I was suprised. I thought it MIGHT be lame, but no. It's one of the best movies and best tributes I've ever seen. It was SO good and SO well written! It's like they purposely aired it the day before my birthday as a birthday present for me. I'm just blown away. It defines what a crossover should be, and anything stupid that happened was stupid on purpose. I somewhat saw the ending coming though, but it was still awesome. I'm not even going to spoil what happens at the very VERY end of the movie. You have got to see it. It's great. I know some people here might not be into a movie based all around TMNT, but if you ever enjoyed ANY one of the many TMNT media, this is still an awesome movie to watch. I give it big thumbs up. Don't be expecting the meaning of life when you watch it, but expect an awesome epic action flick.

Oprah cancelling her show

Oprah Winfrey cries on live show announcing the end of 'Oprah' | EW.com (http://watching-tv.ew.com/2009/11/20/oprah-winfrey-cries-end-of-oprah/)

---Quote---
With tears in her eyes, Oprah Winfrey said on her Friday “live from Chicago” Oprah show that she will cancel her talk show as of Sept. 9, 2011. Pegging her show’s exit to its 25th anniversary, Winfrey said it “feels right in my bones and it feels right in my spirit.” Her voice breaking, she said haltingly that she valued “the yellow brick road of blessings” her show has brought her. She promised to “knock your socks off” with the “18-month ride.” The audience gave her a standing ovation.

Winfrey waited until we’d watched a grim, wrenching segment on a raped and murdered child, plus interviews with Gabourey Sidibe (the star of Precious, a movie to which Winfrey signed on as a co-producer) and with Ray Romano to make her announcement.

Frankly, during the opening segment, I hit the “mute” button as soon as I heard the phrases “sold into sex slavery” and “cigarette burns on her body.” I just don’t have the stomach for this kind of story, and frankly, was surprised that Winfrey still does segments like this.

But Oprah has done a lot of good that far outweighs the questionable stuff on Oprah. Thus, her announcement had the feeling of an American queen stepping down from her throne, or an unelected president resigning from office. And it’s not as though she’s going to disappear any time soon, which only adds to the pop-culture interest here. Unlike the few major broadcast entertainment figures comparable to her, from Arthur Godfrey to Johnny Carson, Winfrey’s decision to make this a long goodbye will yield a new model for how a beloved celebrity leaves the public stage ( …if only until she starts up her next TV project).

Even when she decides to end something, Oprah does it in a uniquely big way.

The show is pretty interesting and works in a fashion very much resembling USA's Burn Notice. The main plot is still very much developing while the side or episode plots are doing very well. In the most recent episode the main plot definitely began to reveal more of what White Collar has to offer. The actors chosen are very interesting and seem to be working in a nice unity. So has anyone else been watching this show?

The series revolves around Hank Moody, a charming ladies' man of a writer and novelist plagued by personal demons. He blames his years-long case of writer's block on a variety of reasons, ranging from the hedonism of Los Angeles, to his girlfriend Karen leaving him. Hank constantly deals with the consequences of his lack of will to say "no" to available drugs, sex and alcohol, while trying to show his family that he can be a good, responsible caring father to Becca and a monogamous partner to Karen.
---End Quote---

This is a pretty good show, I'm about halfway through season two. I don't think that I've ever seen any show that's as depressing as this one though, the writers must have a strong case of schadenfreude. Most of the characters are fairly realistic in their flaws and faults, even if the situations can be kind of over the top. The casting is suburb too, all of the characters' interactions work out really well.

So, yeah, I looked, but I didn't see a thread (and I can't search "V"). Here's to hoping it hasn't been made yet!

Anyway, V (short for Visitors) is about a group of aliens that come to Earth. They offer peace and technology in exchange for supplies for their homeworld. However, all is not well, as it seems. They seem to have some ulterior world-destruction motive that they've been planning for years. They even had aliens masquerading as humans long before they actually arrived. Fortunately, as would be expected, there are traitors to the Vs that aid the rebel faction in resistance while the enemy gathers a bunch of devoted, human followers.

Seems kinda typical, I know; but based on the first episode, it's starting off fairly well. The aliens give off that "too good to be true/mysterious" feel (and it's obvious why by the end of the episode). You are introduced to characters on both sides of the story, and certain parts are made to be pretty interesting. It'll take a few more episodes to see how well the quality stays, but it's off to a good start.

The only thing that I wish they did differently is that they "aliens are evil" reveal was a bit too early. I would have liked the "good alien" masquerade to continue throughout the first episode (with subtle contrary hints peppered about) and have the reveal sometime during the second episode.
