So Question Pertaining to Master Xehanort's Return...

Is Master Xehanort at the end of the game a version of Master Xehanort from the past or has he actually returned as in he came back got his body back along with the other twelve organization members when their nobodies were defeated? If he is a past version of Master Xehanort than wouldn't a present form of Apprentice Xehanort be back at the very least since Xemnas was defeated. A body has to come back after their nobody is defeated, the other twelve did is Xehanort an exception?

The Master Xehanort seen in 3D is the present MX. Meaning Xemnas and Ansem died and he reformed as MX. This also means that something happened to Terra along the way.

Ok follow up question haha. How does his body return if it was destroyed at the end of Birth By Sleep? When the Organization became Nobodies in Radiant Garden I thought their bodies were still there the whole time just waiting for their hearts to return or am I completely wrong here and they weren't there, they were sacrificed and the bodies actually reform?

Edit: And I'm assuming we are going to have to wait for KH3 to figure out what happened to Terra's heart because if MX returned instead of AX that means somehow he discarded Terra's heart like you said.

One, his body wasn't destroyed. It is unknown what happened to his body when he put his heart into Terra.
But yes, that is the mystery.....

Hmmm.... At the end, Master Xehanort did say something like, "Sora and another on your list belong to me now." He was probably talking about Terra, so maybe he's being held captive by Xehanort? Or maybe he's one of the 13 seekers already.

^^I remember somebody explaining when MX left Terra's body, he could have left a piece of his heart in him like Braig and Saïx, leaving Terra as Terra-Xehanort from BBS. 'Course, all we have to go on are assumptions and Nomura's taunting teases left in the Ultimania.

I was confused when MX, Braig, and Isa disappeared in black flakes along with the other Xehanorts when everyone was returned to their proper times. That was their proper time, so they shouldn't have gone anywhere. But I figure they just used some fancy teleportation or something to leave. And yeah, like people said, that is current MX. And Terra is definitely under MX's control somehow.

I just relized something, though. Remember back when a lot of people theorized that MX might have another Nobody, from moving his heart into Terra? Well that might not be completely bunk. There are still some unknown seekers of darkness, and YMX definitely visited BbS' final battle (since he picked up Vanitas there), so perhaps he retrieved a second Nobody of MX. That would be an interesting twist, and Nomura does have a streak of introducing a new Xehanort in every main game (KH1: Ansem, KH2: Xemnas and Apprentice Xehanort, BbS: Master Xehanort, DDD: Young Xehanort).
