Default Destructoid Interviews the KH3D Sound Team!

Five days left until Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance] hits North American shores! It's not far off now, so while we wait here is some good reading material! Destructoid got the chance to interview the three music composers for Kingdom Hearts 3D, Yoko Shimomura, Tsuyoshi Sekito, and Takeharu Ishimoto!

Man Yoko Shimomura is just so cool and she sounds great. I think if it wasn't for her music KH wouldnt be as great as it is

    Heh,
As for THE WORLD ENDS WITH YOU, it’s not like we could’ve had Sekito-san work on it, so I’ve gone ahead and handled it myself.
    Nice one, Ishimoto.

I still always like Shimomura's music the best. It's like Ishimoto and Sekito's compositions are too simple, with Sekito's in general kinda bland and not as sophisticated as Shimomura's music.

I'd say Ishimoto doesn't really want to meddle with KH's sound too much since it has it's own built by Shimomura. His work on Type-0, TWEWY, and Crisis Core is amazing so I don't think he's simple. He's just got a style of his own.

I also think it has to do with the professionalism of the other composers. They all have a mutual respect for eachother. Kingdom Hearts is clearly Shimomura's baby as evidenced by her describing the songs as her children in this interview. They're working with her to embellish the series, not turn it into something different. I'm sure she would want her style to pervade (I'll say) Type-0's score if she'd had some guest work on that.

    Nice interview.

Yoko is the best video game music composer to me. Her work on Kingdom Hearts is just so Benelovent.
I've been having these weird thoughts lately... like is any of this for real or not?
