Yeah, now that I think about it, this XL kind of defeats the purpose of taking it with you everywhere to get more steps and streetpass encounters. Unless you carry it in a case or bag or something.

I think they just left out the second analogue stick to not piss off people who bought the original. The XL edition looks like it's meant to be more of a second option rather than an actual upgrade. I know it would piss me off if they did.

Well, it looks like that idea is going to screw them over. People are largely dissing this new XL because of its lack of a second analog stick. Also, I don't think you can piss any of the first buyers off more than when they dropped the 3DS price and only gave the first dedicated buyers games that are very old and can be emulated on pretty much anything nowadays.
