I think it does have something to do with Sora. I also think that it either is, or was Vanitas. In some of the KH novel work they say that Vanitas didn't always look like Sora. They describe Vanitas having that appearance(minus the black hooded suit) of black face and glowing red eyes and that the more time that passed, the more of Ven that came back to him, thus Sora's face.

That was only said in the novels though so we can't take it as granted.

In fact, it was said that Vanitas had a black face and Unversed-eyes in the novel before Sora's newborn heart connected with Ven's.
Then Vanitas immdiately gained Sora's face because Sora's heart filled up exactly that part that was broken off from Ven's heart.
This broken off shard however forms the core of Vanitas's dark heart and is still connected with Ventus, hence the change in Vanitas's appearance.
It hadn't anything to do with "time-passing" or "more of Ven coming back".

As silly as this sounds, I think it may be a Dream Eater :\ It has the exact same eyes as a nightmare Wondernyan. (There was also a Dream Eater acting/appearing as Pinocchio, so... it's a possibility? In another form, of course.)

They showed the Guardian right after it, and with the way there was a Ventus Sentiment shown right before the sleeping Ven, there could be a correlation.

Maybe it's Xehanort as a Dream Eater? He already has a Heartless and Nobody, so it isn't too far of a stretch.

I think that if it is Vanitas that Ven and Sora's hearts are now seperated, causing Vanitas' appearance to change.
