| Ruler of Light | Im lazy and because of my laziness I am sopposed to pay the price. Well what i mean by lazy is i missed to many days in school:o . So the price is to sign a contract and never miss another day , or my dad will be sent to jail for an entire month.Well before i had to sign this contract I had to deal with a long and boring presentation of what can happen to a child if he misses to many days of school. About half way through I decided to stop looking for words that resemble @ss in the paper i was reading and listened to what the guy had to say. He said what seemed to be the most obserd and idiotic thing i could ever hear. He said," if a child misses to many days of school he or she won't be able to get their drivers lisense. My reaction was simply  i tried to hide it but i hardly could. Ever since then ive been wondering , is this just bs or is that guy actually telling the honest truth? What i wanted to know was : 1. Was he telling the truth? 2. Has this ever happend to you? 3. If i did keep on missing school would they really not let me ever drive? ![]() |

| Personal [^^^] | ........Wow...Just wow...I would have said somthing dramatic like, DON'T TAKE AWAY MY ABILITY TO DRIVE! or somthing, but wow...... I think...You have a problem......And you should go to school, but I don't know if he was lieing or not, because I wasn't there, and I don't know the tone in his voice. But I suggest you go to school, because depending on your relationship with your dad....If he goes to jail he'll most likely kick your arse when he gets out....My final suggestion- Go to school. PS: Take it from a guy who has been home for almost two months....It's not too fun. |

| It sounds like BS to me, because I've been in a similar situation but I've never heard anything about getting a license taken away or not being able to get one. If you already have one, there's no way they can take it away for missing too much school. You've probably missed the maximum amount of days you can miss. I missed -almost- the maximum amount of days for one class period (first hour, of course) I missed 9 out of 12 days. 9 out of 12 days isn't a big deal to most teachers, but if it's an algebra teacher who thinks you're missing out on too much wonderful math, they'll send a threat. Mine sent a letter threatening to get an attorney unless I start showing up for classes. Which is stupid, no other teacher would have cared <<; also, my days weren't consecutive, I had been sick for a bit and missed a few days here and there, and sometimes I slept in instead of going to school <: Anyway, nowhere did my letter mention anything about a license. (This was my junior year of high school). I already had mine anyway, and in my state there's nothing the school can do to take it away. Of course, it might be different within your state. (Assuming you're in the USA too) If you want to find out if it's total BS or not, call your local tag agency and explain the situation and ask if it's true. |

| Bang! | Actually... When I had taken Dr. Ed. last year in my first quarter, our teacher went over rules and such. Regulations and the like. One of them was that if you miss more than three days of CLASS you have to take the class over again. The reason is because you needed a certain number of hours in class, on the wheel with the teacher, and on practice on your own. (I believe it was 60, 6, and 25, respectively). Meaning that if we missed more than three days of class we wouldn't get the whole 60 hours. So..yeah. That's only for IL. Anyways. That may be it. But yeah, I'd just say go to school. <-< It's worth your time, believe it or not. |
