It's an important distinction to make. Jesus was sent to save mankind from themselves. Superman came to Earth for safety and his mission then became to protect Earth from the various alien threats and such.

There wasn't even focus on sin in Transformers. It was all explosions and kill Megatron and stuff.

I don't see how they are even remotely the same. Since Optimus was born on a different planet. And Jesus...was Jewish. Born here. There were witnesses.

This is fucking dumb. Jor-El visiting Earth completely rapes the inital story. Jor-El's a scientist, he discovers the Krypton's core is unstable and going to explode, he shares this with council and they reject his findings and call him a lunatic. Their ignorance results in Krypton's demise. Jor-El does what he can to build a rocket (NOTE: kryptonians don't have space travel widely available) and puts Kal-El in the protoype and sends him to Earth in the dying moments.
He surveys the universe and picks Earth because kryptonians physiology thrives under a yellow sun and out planet is similar to Krypton, but he has not real idea what he's sending his son to, which is what makes it such an important sacrifice.

Smallville is terrible.

So... the part in Smallville where Jor-El visited before and was greeted by the Kents, so Jor-El sends Kal-El there to the Kents because of the past is wrong?
