Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() Currently playing: sf4 i guess Level: 38 EXP: | ![]() itt we discuss the already existing workout/exercise routines that we have. if you want to start getting fit, but don't know what to do, jump in here and we'll point you in the right direction. I'll start I guess. - Every Saturday and Sunday, I do about one hour of karate. If I'm feeling up for it, I'll do post-cardio exercises. - Every Wednesday, I do about half an hour of cardio with my friends at the campus gym, then I head straight to my two hour gymnastics class. - On Tuesdays and Saturdays, I work for five hours at my karate school teaching kids. I perform drills and pretty much do the warmups for every class, so needless to say I'm burning a ton of calories. Before and after my shift, and during my half an hour break, I do my own personal training. - I try and run for about 20-30 minutes on Fridays, followed by 5-10 minutes of speed rope, 5 minutes of shadow boxing, 4 sets of 10 squats, and then some upper body work on my bowflex (one day, i'll be in a rock band!) As you can see, I'm working more on my stamina than strength training. After a while though, I'll start incorporating a much larger emphasis on my bowflex so I can increase my strength (not to be confused with muscle size). As of now, I don't have any particular muscles other than my abdominal muscles that I'd like to improve, but I've been thinking of working on those triceps, forearms and shoulder/back muscles for good measure (and for good looks). Anyway, post your daily routines and share information/advice if you'd like. Last edited by gramp anime scholar; October 9th, 2009 at 06:48 AM. |

Rep Power: 3 ![]() Level: 11 EXP: | Muay Thai twice a week, usually followed by at least 8 miles of riding my bike. I do miscellaneous stuff the other days, usually 15+ miles of bike riding or a few miles of walking. Looking into capoeira classes as well; maybe getting back into swimming as well. |

Rep Power: 13 ![]() ![]() ![]() Currently playing: sf4 i guess Level: 38 EXP: | Oh man swimming. I wanna get into swimming, but I just can't find the drive too. While it's a much better alternative to running, I find it's a much larger hassle to get ready for swimming than it is for running. Running it's like, put on shoes, grab shorts and goooooooo. Swimming, I gotta bring my towel and do all dis shiet and I'm just like "fuck dat mang". Plus I can't find my goggles >: |

| doesn't play well with others | It all depends on what sort of routine you want for yourself, but I just train a different muscle group each day of the week. Mondays I bench, Tuesdays I do my legs, Wednesdays I put a lot of focus on my abs (although I try to never go more than two days without doing some kind of ab workout, albeit not as intense), Thursdays I curl, and Fridays I usually just work on whatever part of my body doesn't hurt enough. I also try to run at least a mile each day, but I've been slacking on that lately, not much to my noticeable detriment (yet). |

If you did, you'd realize that the answer to your question is rather obvious. @Sam - I think you should put more emphasis on your back muscles Sam. While it is every man's dream to have raging pectorals, if you don't work out those back muscles, you look off balance and awkward. Also, how about dem triceps? D: |

| Hi kids! Do you like violence? | In season (Football): -Wake up at 5 a.m. to go lift at 6:15. -Lifting usually takes about 45 minutes to an hour -School (I eat two sandwiches and two bags of chips with an iced tea at lunch) -Practice (usually entails an hour and a half doing stuff while the other hour and a half is spent doing nothing. Then we condition. Most likely some sort of sprinting) In season (Track): -School (I eat the same thing everyday) -Monday is usually the hardest day in which sprinters will have to run 150-250 meter sprints at least 6-8 times under a certain time.. Then a cool down lap and a butt workout. -Tuesday we do drills and such, which is still pretty difficult. -Wednesday, everything we do is race pace. Meaning we run the distance of the races we run, while hauling ass. -Thursday we have off -Friday is usually an easy day. We run for no longer that 80 meters at the least. But we do them in sets (i.e. 30-60-80) -Weekends we also have off. Off-Season: -Start lifting around 10 a.m. Takes about an hour to an hour and a half. -Head to the school around 3 p.m. for team workouts. It's basically formation stuff, "go here and there". Then we run sprints/ -Afternoon training starts at 6 p.m. Pretty much the hardest workout of my life that's way too difficult for me to go into detail. I don't have any specific diet since an extremely high metabolism is awesome. |

That's why I've mostly switched to walking/biking. There's a trail along the bayou right next to my house, which makes it way more convenient than finding a lap pool, getting ready for swimming, and all that other crap. | |
