She resigned, I don't think she would run for governor again if she resigned, besides she says she would probably be of more help if she was free to do more for her Alaskan community by helping fund a plant for petroleum gases and such to help the economy. Other than that she is heading head first into politics as a simple democrat. She still wants to keep her oppertunities open in case she wants to go a different path.

She gave up on that gas and oil or whatever committee too, I doubt it. Palin is pretty much a quitter with everything.

I wouldn't count her out that quickly, she is smart by keeping doors open for maybe future paths along her way.

She's doing this for the money. By resigning, she has time for her book deal. It's worth more now than it will be after she's finish with her term as governor. With speculations to what's she's going to do next, it's just more fuel for publicity.
