‘They continued to hold things up’
Disorderly conduct citations are issued when someone does something to cause annoyance or alarm, Ludlow said. The citation is an infraction similar to a speeding ticket, Ludlow said.

"It was not just that they were rapping, they continued to hold things up," Ludlow said.

Ludlow said the teens were asked several times to speak plainly and that ultimately the manager came outside.

The owner-operator of the McDonald's said in a statement that the issue was about employees' safety at the restaurant in American Fork, about 30 miles south of Salt Lake City.

"The employee in question felt that her safety was at risk as a result of the alleged actions of these individuals in the drive-thru, not as a result of them rapping their order," franchisee Conny Kramer said in the statement. "As such, she contacted the local authorities."

But Sharon Dauwalder, Spenser's mother, said they will fight it nonetheless.

"We have to," she told The Associated Press on Thursday. "The citation is there."

Pff, that's not scary, that's funny. Lady must be paranoid, if that was me, I would've started tapping along. A rapping customer beats a normal one any day.

I can sort of see why the employees were ticked. They are on the clock and just want to get the orders done with and move onto the next customer. Drive thru attendants don't only work the drive thru. They also have other tasks when they are free. So in a way the teens were holding them up. There is a time for rapping. That time is never.

I understand why the employees would be annoyed but isn't part of their job dealing with stupid people? I mean just suck it up and move on with life. Yes she did ask them to stop and they refused, but they also left. A call to the police wasn't necessary in my opinion, unless they threatened her, but it doesn't seem like they did.

I literally live right there. It's a 10 minute walk from my house. My brother was actually camping near there and didn't know, then the News came on and Mum was stressing out for like the whole weekend.
