| Banned | it's okay to feel homesick, but by the time you get older hopefully you learn to find your own comfort outside of the home your parents own. a lot of kids or teenagers feel the need to leave home or experience something outside of home till the point that they feel like coming back home, unless the parents and such are horrible. |

Make a vid to send home or make something hilarious. There can be plenty of things to do to keep yourself occupied and off the thought of home. |

Rep Power: 7 ![]() ![]() | Going on vacation is like a good except and I'd say take the time to relax, enjoy the fresh air (if your going outside), make new penpals and stay in touch if your a socializer, go to the best-good sites by where your going, go shopping (if you love shopping), do something that will kill time if your vacation is boring, remember fond memories, and be thankful, your vacation (unless its bad, then sorry). Hope this helps and I hope you enjoy your vacation, before you know it, you'll be back home! Just try not to think too much about home! |

Rep Power: 1 ![]() | LOL I had the same situation. I had to go somewhere for 4 days without my parents. First I was soo happy to go. But then when they had to leave, it finally struck me that they were leaving and I felt queezy. But then my parents discussed with me that I wasn't alone and when the day sgo on, you won't about home often if you keep yourself busy. Try to enjoy yourself, and you'll be home before you know it. What I would do is just relax. Being homesick is from thinking too much of what you don't have..you parents..siblings etc. Think about what you do have. WHat can you do in the country now? Is there any new people you can meet? Explore on your own how the country is. If you're traveling with a group, try to jion the consversation. Trust me, when the time is over, you wish the vacation was longer because you feel as if you didn't do everything you could of done there. SO come on! Get off that bed and do something! DO some studying....welll maybe not.. Also, if you have a computer with FREE wireless internet connection, email or chat with your parents or set up a blog about your trip. Letting out your feelings with make you less homesick and if you record your journey, it's a wonderful momento to keep. Being away from home is hard, so try to forget that u are in a different country and do the things you love. Vacation will be gone before you know it. |

| Ruler of Light | Well, you can [1] Be miserable or [2] Enjoy it. Number 2 sounds a little bit more worth your parent's money, don't you think? Besides, once you get home and settle in a few weeks, you're going to wish you were back out on your own. Its the freedom that you'll miss =] |

| Let's re-define. | As people have already said, MAKE THE MOST OF IT, and exploit all the opportunities that you have. Do anything and everything that you wouldn't be able to do back home. Visit, explore, make new friends.... Be rebellious. You're parents aren't there to keep you in check. etc. |
