If the planets are set to align, so what? If it's because someone fears the alignment might act as a gravity lens and throw everything out, the effects of it will disturb the alignment anyway. That said, I think it would be in much bigger news if it were to happen in four year's time. The Mayans, as good as they may have been at planet-gazing, had far less accurate methods than what we have now. And, not to mention, pluto hadn't even been discovered then. I know, dward planet and all, but still.

Galaxies DO align, Phoenix. I know it sounds like a crap and farcical name, but just search 'Axis of Evil' on Google and somewhere in those results you'll see at least one thing about at least spiral galaxies aligning on account of an aftereffect of the Big Bang or Dark Matter and/or energy. it was just a calendar really, and i hardly believe Nostradamus to be truthful (yes i said it!). Anyways its possible that the calendar goes by a different system from todays calendar. For example 2012 could be the endpoint of the calendar and restarted with another system.

Personally, I'd be more worried about the LHC than some calendar =/.
But at the same time I'm not worried about the LHC either so I guess i'm just Happy-Go-Lucky at this point.

I think these theories of the world ending in 2012 is a load of shit. Seriously. The world was supposed to "end" in 2000, it never happened. It will never happen. >_>

I don't see why anybody really needs to predict the end of the world anyways. The world for you ends when you die, which could be tomorrow. You could be walking outside and get shot, or get caught in some sort of an accident, or even go to sleep and die of an aneurysm.

Not only that, but there are alot of things that could end the world that could happen at any moment.

-Supervolcano
-Solar Flares
-Gamma-ray bursts
-The fact that we could just be simulated reality and somebody cuts the power thus ending our lives
-Randomly stop existing due to some unknown event

Hell, maybe even the smallest possibility of creating a black hole from the LHC next month will end us all.

Live life and stop worrying about it. If you're going to die anyways, might as well enjoy the time you have left.

I believe that the world will end without us knowing when. In the bible God says that he will come like a thief in the night. Therefor being allmost anytime. Even the most unlikely of times.

I agree very much with your point.

Life is a brief time for everyone, so instead of wasting time on predictions and dedicating your life and wasting time researching this, just move on. And if it ends, well, it was going to happen anyway.
