In about 5 billion years the sun could become a supernova and end the planet =/ Without the sun we really can't live on earth can we? Not at current at least. The earth will still be around for a long time and probably wont end until we use up all its resources. But by the time we would end up using all of the resources on this planet I would say we would be colonizing other planets. Only could hope we would be doing so right? Anyway... Don't get so worked up with the Maya calender thing. From what I have heard and read its just the ending of a part of their calendar. Its basically the same as saying that the calendar on my wall ends on December 31, 2008 so thats the end of the world.

Think about it, if there wasn't a movie about it, would the History Channel really be talking seriously about this?
Everytime some apocalypitic movie comes out, these channels make these shows to profit from the popularity of the movies. Saw it with "The Day After Tomorrow", "Deep Impact", "Armaggedon".
You'll probably see more of these shows, seeing as how 2012 is near.

And yeah let's face it ._. with everything going on, it does feel like the end of the world is near.

But you just got to face that no one knows when the world will end.
