Memorial Day Parades

Anyone else have to march in a memorial day parade on of course, Memorial day? I have to, I play the snare drum.

I dont even bother with memorial day parades. THey are to boring and no point. I known a few people that have been able to march in it and they said it was ok but really he was too focused on performing to be able to take in the moment.

Memorial day parades are an excuse to take you away from a beach or a pool, where I generally am that weekend.

Well, not really for me, Mine are early in the morning, and I would be getting up at the same time as if I was going to school.

It's nice, because I'm going to be kind of important in neckst year's drumline. -.- So I'm enjoying the break. D:<!

My section's going to be 8th-12th graders. @_@ So yeah. It's... Not a fun section for Senior Year. XD

We didn't parade, but we had to stand there through this whole long ceremony and play songs occasionally. I play the tenor quads. (For anyone who doesn't know, it's a type of marching drum that consists of four drums...it's heavy)

Had to play with my school's band. Our town's parade is way too long for it's own good. they let anyone march and they have an ending ceremony in the blazing sun. at least 5 people pass out of heat stroke every year.

My ROTC Flight had to March in the Scott Air Force Day Parade.

That sucks for you,
I play the quads/ clarinet for BHS.
We usually do so many parades (specially in the holidays) but none for this memorial day.
Our Band director is in surgery so yeah,
I guess you can say we got lucky. ^^

Anyways, I played snare yesterday, and the line was pretty good, can't complain.

I still think that is a bit harsh

But, now I'm going to be playing Snare for marching band. And our next parade was canceled.

My band played in the Memorial Day in our town. It was mandatory. Or else a 0 O_O
Oh, and I play the flute. Hard to snap up into position.
We had Seniors coming over to teach us marching, and they just kept saying "Shut UP!" the whole time. And whenever one of our band members says 'Shut up', other members laugh hysterically. Inside joke for us
