Most of these drugs work on the actual synapses of your brain. they chainge your brain chemistry, and your body needs the drug to maintain its new "balance". This is why people have withdrawal symptoms. Its not because they think they need it, its because their body feels sick without it.

Well I see this in two different ways.

1. You can be addicted to masturbating, as in you want to do all the time, and do it as much as possible. I wouldn't say you have a problem, you're just really horny.

2. You can be addicted, as in you can't stop doing it, even when you don't want to, then I would say It's psychological.

Anything can become addictive, it doesn't need to be something like a drug and the chemicals released when you orgasm can be addictive for some people, ok so it can't be proved one way or another, but then nothing can be proved one way or another really. It is all down to speculation.

but there is a reason you continue to do it. Its easy for people in a situation like that to take the easy way out and just say they are addicted to masturbating.

I highly doubt a couple incidences will really matter that much. as long as i don't continue to do so in the near future, who is going to really care? its not worth the effort to pursue. besides, the conversation has moved on from there.

I could ask the same thing about you. I've only been taking AP Pyschology and AP Biology for the past year now. defining and understanding the types of addiction and what they are is not only a component of those classes, but also a component of every health class i've taken for the past couple years of my life. Each time they show us exactly how each drug does it, just so that we're clear.

Yeah, i'd like to see the research you use to back up your claims. I have text books that tell me so. If i have to scan the pages to prove it, i will. If your research consists of google searching masturbation addiction, you are going to get thousands of sights that have no scientific basis for their reasons.

You simplify things way to much, and this is why i think you don't know to much about what you are talking about either. You also completely ignored the idea that chemicals like nicotine have major impact on how your body works and that the body develops a physiological dependency on these things. Any research that says it doesn't is insane, because i bet if i gave people nictotine without their knowledge, some would get hooked, many more than if i just gave them a placebo or soemthing. if only that sort of experiment weren't highly unethical.

Yeah, but the instances of people being addicted to the pleasure of masturbation alone is not going to be high ever. Its not that spectacularly mind-blowing.

especially considering the commonly except frequency of masturbation, a true addiction would have to be really severe, and if there were really something to be worried about, we would probably hear more about it.

The main idea of my posts is to say the chances of you actually becoming that crazy over playing with yourself are so low that you'll probably get hit by a car before that happens.
