ok, i'll bite. What actually makes you want it psychologically more than normal? Like i said, most young males males (that means pretty much all of you in the thread) masturbate at least once a day, maybe even twice. Frequent masturbation is not a problem or an addiction. The difference is, most of us do our business and move on, and just about all of us could probably go on without for a couple weeks if the situation demanded it. It becomes a problem when your life is dominated by it, and you are rubbing yourself raw. I can't say thats a common affliction. the pleasureable feelings alone are not enough to addict you.

Drugs give a good feeling, a feeling of happiness, and thus people long for it. Same with masturbation. Hell, even water can be addictive if you really like it and if it makes you feel good. |

| Just Enough to Love You | Except for you know, the CHEMICALS that they put in drugs to make them addictive. Example: Nicotine in cigarettes. |

Anyways, anything can be addicted if it makes you feel good. Quote:
I personally resent masturbation, I can't stand it because I would rather do it. Quote:

Same to coffee or Red Bull, Cafeine isn't addictive, as some people still think. Even hard drugs like XTC, LSD, or SPEED are not addictive because off there chemicals. (I know, trust me.) I wouldn't know about heroine or cocaine or that shit, but if there are chemicals that make them addictive...then that is only the half of it. Half the addiction is always between your ears. |

| Ruler of Light | I LOVE YOU STAVROS! you know, in a, you just kicked his ignorant ass kind of way. Exactly! but does that make them an addict if they masturbate so much? The thing you have to keep in mind about psychological addictions is that there is so much more to them then simple reasons such as "it feels good". Psychological addictions, unlike physiological addictions, have a base deeper then that. It usually leads to some sort of unresolved issue in the person, rather than the act itself. Quote:
there are two main types of addiction, Physiological and Psychological. THEY ARE VERY DIFFERENT. Drugs are not addictive because they feel good. People take drugs because they feel good. The majority become PHYSIOLOGICALLY addictive, becuase they've often replaced or changed some neurotransmitter that the body needs and there fore the body has an actual demand for it. THIS HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THE FEELING IT CREATES. Now, Psychological addiction is usually deeper. For example, nothing in Marijaunna is addictive. People who claim to be addicted either are liard, or they have a deeper issue. Perhaps their life is absolute crap, or they are so anxious about life that they find their only escape is through drugs. After a while, a person can be psychologically conditioned to feel the need for the drug. However, you need to have some serious stuff wrong with you before something like constant masturbation becomes the only way you can cope with an issue. This is why trying to tell me that masturbating is psychologically addicting is a joke. masturbation isn't the cause of the addiction.

Edit: Again, Stavros, it is not addictive. Some people can quit in one day just because they want to. It was believed that the body got used to Nicotine if you got addicted, and that that was the reason why it is so hard to get off of it. But nothing is less true, as your body does not get used or adicted to nicotine.
