Rep Power: 3 ![]() | This topic was asked by my History teacher today cause he's awesome like that. What theme, phrase, word etc., would you give to this decade, even though it's not complete yet. Tell why if you want. Chaotic. That's one of the first words that comes to my mind when I think about it. All of the violence, natural disasters, and world threats (such as nuclear stuff) has just been crazy. To me it sort of feels like it's all happening really fast or just too much, even though this stuff has happened before. P.S. Made before? Right section? What would you do for a Klondike bar? Let me know. |

| Their Will Be Only Chaos!! | I'd have to agree with Chaotic. At the same time, I though for sure we'd be driving flying cars. Why not? They did it in Back to the Future! lulz. |

| Rush | I would have to agree that chaotic is one of the first things that comes to mind. But there have been worse decades in my opinion. Like when Chairman Moa Tse-tung ruled over China, that was a pretty bad decade. But more than just chaotic, this decade has been one of the most advancing decades, due to technology etc |

Rep Power: 5 ![]() ![]() | Boredom. This world is filled with boredom. There are hardly any chalenges anymore, so everyone just makes the best of it, without any direction, without something to go for because there is hardly any satisfaction. I'm not really going in to this further now, that is just my vision. xD |

As a society, we've come a long way in these eight years so far. I suppose that would be the view for any decade, but I don't think it's that far off a claim to say we're much differant now towards the end from when we started. Green is good. Maybe we've left it too late, but either way it's good to see people's attitudes towards the environment is changing. Especially with the oil price rise, it's good to now that even the car companies are moving towards a greener attitude with General Motors' announcement of phasing in electronic cars by 2012. Plasma screens, LCD's, HDD's and HD-DVD's. From the PlayStation 2 and Xbox to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Online gaming. And to think people once thought Pong was the ultimate achievement. Politics have advanced, too. I think now people are more weary about who they want in charge and the fear of something new is being replaced with fear of being stuck with the same old thing. With the reign of George W. Bush, the execution of Saddam Hussein and the expulsion of John Howard, it's good to see the wider general public taking an interest in who is going to be behind the wheels of a country. In a capitalistic society fueled by consumerism, I've noticed that people are no longer content with the same old thing. More than ever, I think, we demand more. And not just in regards to materlialistic products. This attitude has expanded and is definitely benefiting society for a greater kind of good. I can't wait to see what the next decade will usher in.

| Raping the Willing since 2006 | Hard to say cause there are millions of words that can decribe this decade. But i have to agree with Johnny Stooge about the word being advancing. The world is find newer and better ways to kill one another. But also the way politics are going. In America you have both a black man and a female still in the running to get a possible nomination for president. I think this first decade of this century will set the standard for the next 9. |

| Twilight Knight | Chaotic seems to fit the bill. But that's just because we aren't children anymore. The 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and the 90s all had problems. The problem is that we weren't really going through the hardtimes during those decades...let alone (for most of us) alive. But with World Trade Centers, etc... But the war in Iraq is just like the war in Vietnam right? I wasn't even a fetus yet...in fact I don't even think my parents met. D: See the dilema? The theme for this decade would be something crazy and heavy full of emotion. That's all I know. |

| Orville Redenbacher WOO | Chaotic works. Especially with all the shooting going around in the world (VT, for example, and with the anniversary of that TODAY). Technological as well. There have been quite a number of advancements due to newfound technology in the world. |

...will be remembered as the beginning of the end for a once great nation. After worldwide domestic fallouts regarding the War of Terror, the United States will fall into diplomatic standing similar to Cuba. Conflict in the Middle East will expand to Iran, Syria, and possibly Saudi Arabia; causing the United Nations to disown the US and pull all support. US forces, spread too thin and unsupported, will be crushed and said nations will launch a retaliatory strike against the US using wither military force or a petroleum embargo. Without oil to fuel our economy, it will quickly fall apart. The economy will continue to collapse until a country we owe large sums of money to (such as China) intervenes and seeks cheep labor in the United States, since any work will be fought over. Infringements on civil liberties will continue as radical neo-conservatives take control of the United States government. Illegal immigration will become the problem of other counties as Americans flee the sinking wreckage of the country. SCENARIO 2 - BARACK OBAMA / HILLARY CLINTON IS ELECTED PRESIDENT IN NOVEMBER 2008 ...will be remembered as a trying period for our nation in which we will teeter on the brink of an economic depression and attempt to make diplomatic amends worldwide. We might have hope at this point... maybe.
