That's just not right or fair. Either they have no speck of creativeness or they want to get all the praise of being an amazing graphic artist. -_- bitches..

o: I go to that forum that the people have stolen plushies from! I recognize everything on that list! How rude..well, they didn't say they made it. But you have to pay for the hard work someone did on that forum, and it's worth it and you're not scolded upon if someone finds out you stole it :(

So is it bad to go to a site that has avatars that you are free to use and tweak one, oh, say... reverse the colors? When I started in the forums I didn't know if it was wrong... they said you could use them so I went into paint an reversed the color of one for fun. It looked cool so I used it as my avatar... Is that wrong? No one said anything about it... And if someone's sig says 'if you think this is funny copy it into your sig' or something to that effect It's okay to copy it, right?

If it clearly states that you can use it, then you may. If it's in somebody's signature, then give them credit (for images, not text). If you go to a site to get an avatar, and it's free for anybody to use, then by all means, use it. If somebody asks where you got it though, do not tell them that you made, but got it from a site.

All in all, just don't take credit for it if you didn't make it.

^ Nope, I wouldn't hold that against you. They were free to use. :P Rippers would be more like people who find something off DA, chop it up, manipulate it, and call it their own. It's not the same as using something free to the general public in a sincere manner.

one person ripped off Darkness Blades sig... (Prince Sasuke of the past)
It was pathetic. it still said 'Darkness Blade' In size 24 font....

Yeah, I really hate rippers. Anyways, Mikail, I saw your work, and I was an inch from using it!! Then I saw the red text... :) You are talented Mikail, I can't make sprites or anything or animations for anything. Anyways, just letting you know, if I get an animation and put it onto my sig, is it a rip? The animation has credits after the animation, so... I'll take it out if I can't have it. It's one of Dread's pieces, which are incredible, and its under the forum site link removed. . I'm Terror of Death on there, so... if you don't want me to post your animation on there, Dread, I'll take it out. RIPPERS ARE PAIN. :mad:

It depends.
It shouldn't be considered a rip if
1) Its a peice of Dread's work which he doesn't care if people use.
2) Permission is granted to be used.
3) Credit is given (better to have permission with this one though to be safe)
4) Work was made for you

From now own, the use of fanart will NOT be tolerated. There are many sites such as dA, OFP and many others. Any fanart uploaded is protected by copyright laws and cannot be used. If anyone sees someone using fanart in a tag, splash or wallpaper, report to a mod at once.

However, if you DO fanart, you must first have permission from the artist AND you MUST credit them. If you do not follow those two rules, don't even bother with fanart.
