I like the colors and it seems to go well with the stock...I happen to like it very much...

Move the stock to the left a bit and remove some of the smudging; specifically around the stock. Use a C4D or some other tactic to blend him in.
Some brighter colors would be nice. Maybe a Purple to Orange gradient map set on soft light.

I'd drop the clip masking you did. Choose a more fitting type of typography if not drop it. You smudge about as well as I do so I'm not of much help when It comes to that ._.
I'd say light source top left of the focal point slightly hinting a complimenting orange hue.

About the clipping mask, maybe instead of dropping it, he can put it in the upper left where that black is. To fill in the Neg space.
Also that dark blue is random, replace it with a better color. Then add on a good G-Map.

Too much floating head. Needs more shoulders and less blending.

It reminds me of the scene in the Lion King where Mufasa's head is suddenly in the sky.
That doesn't look good in tags.

What veritas in the DM? thats just plain crazy :P

yeah i agree, the effects and smudging shouldnt be over the focal that much
text sucks and so does the clipping mask
