Default First sig attempts

Hey everyone!

I've decided to dabble in the world of sig-making and I've managed to create 2 of them. Here they are:

I'm happier at how the border turned out in the Ass Creed one, but I prefer the background and font in Brave.

Please tell me what you think, and how I could improve!

I used GIMP. And thanks very much - I wasn't expecting them to turn out like that at all!

those backgrounds are pretty good! You should try to blend the stocks into the effects a little more but other than that keep up the good work!

Thanks, Zook! I'll have to have a go at your suggestion at some point... don't know when I'll find the time though... I'm going to be very busy over the next couple of weeks...

Thanks to you as well, Sora RE+Mixed. I really didn't expect my sigs to be met with such enthusiasm, lol!

Challenge? I don't think I'm good enough to start getting competitive just yet... Plus I don't really know the 'ins and outs' of all this Siggy stuff... just doing it for enjoyment, when I get a spare moment.

Perhaps I'll get back to you in the future sometime... when I have more time and find out what on earth a challenge in graphics actually is, lol

Have the stock as the focal, not the text, increasing the height will help that considerably. Once nailing the stock: canvas ratio (about 1:3) then move on to colouring, depth etcetera.

text is rarely important btw

Alright, thanks for the info on improving them - I always did the text last, and so they were on the top layer. I didn't think that how high a layer was affected how it looked, so I'll have to have to try changing that at some point.

I shall indeed! Where would the fun be with out fiddling around for ages?

Oh, and if anyone could explain to me a bit more about what challenging someone when it comes to graphics entails, I'd be greatful... I'm actually quite curious now.
