The hut was not the only thing with magic. One could say that rather, the hut was merely an extension of the forest. As for claiming someone else, anyone who stumbled on the hut and stayed a night there would probably be claimed.

Overall I thought this was pretty interesting. Short, but interesting. But there's something missing amid all of this stuff about the certain hut and old man who let a stranger into his one-man hut which I'll get to in my whole run-through... Who the hell is the main character? You seem to be focusing so hard on the the man and his small house, that you don't really give us a character to work with, from what I read, how this person talked, acted, I can only assume he's an old man as well because they talk the same, just one's less lazy than the other, assuming, who knows maybe that old man in the hut does some hiking too.

The writing as a whole is good, just missing some good details to help us keep going, to grab us and keep us there. You need to work on fleshing things out, but don't information dump. There were a couple minor, easily fixable things too, but I'll point out the things that I noticed through this thing. Onto the run-through.

Spoiler Spoiler: bluh bluh huge post

I hope you liked my critique and I really hope it helps you out with your story, your writing and everything else. If you have any questions feel free to ask me and I'll try to help in any way I can. Thanks for the request in the thread!
