For me, I have a lot of free time in-between classes that I can do it (especially on Tuesdays and Thursdays). From my experience, nobody in the library is the "nosy" type, so I should have an easy time concentrating, lol.
As a random piece of info, I finally got the main characters named! This is a HUGE deal to me :D

and, congrats! i've gotten two ideas down on paper, now i just have to pick one. both ideas have the same characters though, so i might do an outline of them today. ugh.

This is the worst possible time for me...:(
I'm in college and I'm going to be busy with finals and final projects...
I highly doubt I'm going to have the time to write...

It's not about trying to produce the best thing you can, but about getting something (anything) done. I imagine that's the part he opposes. Still, I'm going for quality as well, so w00t!

As Nevermore pointed out, I think that it promotes a lot of shitty writing that is done just to fit in with a deadline; needless to say, most of the submissions or whatever probably won't be worth reading. Not that I'm all that worried; one chapter of BMV took about an hour-hour and a half to write, and they were all 2,000 words or more.
Just don't expect me to read other people's shit.

Currently playing: Persona | Re: NaNoWriMo - National Novel Writing Month It's not so much about promoting shitty writing, it's more so just about getting the writing done. The goal is just to get the base of the novel finished, as shitty as it may be. then you can go back and rewrite it to make it good. it's just about getting the first draft done, which is typically the hardest part about writing a novel. once you have that, you can just go back and edit and rewrite to make it as good as it can be.
the goal isn't to promote shitty writing, just to promote getting out the first draft in a month.
