Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Well, I thought I'd post some of my original poetry just for kicks. My poetry can lean towards anything really; from fantasy, to darker themes, even to my own religion (I'll try to keep those to a minimum). Thanks to all who take the time to read these! I figure I'd start out with four that I've already written. ***** Dove and Crow The snow fell gently down in a park The old Oak Tree sitting at its center Its branches bare, leaving only bark And the flutter of black and white feathers On a leafless branch facing the East Sat a pure white dove that rivaled the snow Adjacent, where the Moon's glow ceased Perched a night black crow hidden in shadow That gentle dove, innocent and true So caring, with such a passionate heart Stained by none of society's views Its feathers gleamed under the Moon's light That thoughtful crow, clever and wise Such insight, with such a logical mind It knows nothing of meaningless lies Its feathers as black as an endless void As the snow fell down from up above A dark ash rose from far down below The snow turned the crow white as a dove The ash turned the dove black as a crow As they flew away from their own posts Those beside could not see the difference For each bird could have been the other's ghost While they both soared towards the Pale Moon ***** Luminance The light radiated throughout the room Making my weary eyes their home No worry, no sickly shadow of doom Nor the dark sinister spirits that roam I took solace within the warmth of that friend A silent comfort to think and to yearn I prayed that brightness would not end It was a fear I did not wish to learn One by one, the sources of light gave way to the dark Dimmer and dimmer became the once vibrant flame As the illuminating presence turned to a faint and fragile arc And in the new found darkness nothing looked the same All manner of hideous creature emerged Grasping at the soles of my war-torn feet Searching for a tormented soul as reason for their surge They gathered round my body, anxious for my defeat I extended my clenched hand that rested in my chest All stood around, desperate for a look Within I held a brilliant star smaller than the rest Yet still, its immense light shook The creatures stared in horror at that star Before running in terror, screaming like mad For that bright white luminance seen from afar Shone brighter than all the others ever had ***** Existence of a Nobody Walking along an empty road Searching for his own abode Burdened by a heavy load The struggles of a Nobody. A form between dark and light A shadow who's beyond all sight All are unaware of his plight The birth of a Nobody An encouraging word here or there A single person willing to stare A world where all are treated fair The dreams of a Nobody A shallow, cold, lonely man Not even recognized by the land Wanting his existence to hit the fan The pain of a Nobody To be reborn into a world of gold As one who is part of the fold To be made of a well known mold The desires of a Nobody He who lies in the in between He who walks with the unseen He who won't know the joy of being The existence of a Nobody ***** Something Lurks I trail along the cobblestones Always looking back I hear the wind’s cries and moans Through an old abandoned shack And I know that something lurks Unknown to my wandering eye A streak across the grass For that was where the Blood Flowers lie A premonition vast As something starts to lurk These flowers bloom from the scent Of crimson drops above As they drip from a cruel, deep vent Lacking any form of love From that which continues to lurk That ghostly, ominous creature Shrouded in the mist That vile-seeming undertaker Scratching my name off his list And I can see that which lurks A bony mask and a wicked smile With gleaming yellow eyes A gaze that could churn a person’s bile And a hand like a vice The monster that still yet lurks It approaches me, slowly Walking in pace I try to flee swiftly But couldn’t turn my face From the Reaper who malevolently lurks That Reaper raised his bloodthirsty scythe Ready to swing it down That wretched, terrible dark red knife Cut the air around Held by that devil who no longer needed to lurk I waited for that fabled blade To cut me to the core Sweat and worry filled my veins I fell to knees on the floor Before that which used to lurk There was a brilliant flash of light And what I beheld Was a blade that shattered beyond all sight And the creature that was felled The creature that could no longer lurk I looked down upon my relieved chest And this is what I say A beautiful cross, I do not jest Saved my life that day Removing all that lurks As with everything else I post here, feedback is welcome and highly appreciated. Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Well, here are a couple others that I finished recently ***** Faces in the Moon I look up and see the faces in the moon The faces of those whose lives ended to soon And sorrowful tears poured down from the sky As the wind that blew the crimson ashes passed by The wolf lends you comfort with pained howls And you're offered up the sighs of the looming owls So the stars dance around in humble accord As your light is reflected in the shimmering fiord Though the memories you hold are dark and dead Of the relentless strife, and the cruel words said Of broken backs and the dreams that they rend I'm glad that you were able to find peace in the end While the pain and suffering remains in our homes Remember that your lives are remembered with tombs As the beautiful moon carries with it your souls Along with that unforgettable pale glow ***** The Rhythm of Loss I looked in your eyes Where there was supposed to be a soul But all I saw were the sharp edges of shallow empty holes I tried to learn why You just had to act that way But I could not summon the words that I wanted to say I wanted to cry For the loss of you, my love But in the end there wasn't enough to even calm of dove I fell to my knees And they just bled upon the floor So I scrambled desperately, trying to reach the door So my heart was seized By the agony you gave And all that I could do was hang on to my own grave But was it worth these All this misery and pain I asked myself if all of this was really to my gain In all of this I would be happy To just rest my head in your warm arms But I know that it's not reality So I'll have to keep myself from your harm ***** Any comments? |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Thank you so much for the comments! I'm sorry I didn't respond sooner, I just don't want to double post anymore than I have to, lol. Also, I have three more poems to add to this. Enjoy! Comments and Critique are always welcome ![]() ***** Cleansing Rain The dew-covered grass of an endless field Like waves rolling from the placid breeze The soft sounds of chimes caused to yield All who walked through, filled with ease On this day, I walked that field of peace Feeling the air flow through my body Those bells, I prayed they wouldn't cease And sat down on the grass, free of all folly I stared across the wide open plain When I saw something black move Up from the horizon without any shame That blackness became more crude Within that surge of dirt and drudge I saw things that curdled and screamed Things that caused me not to budge Horrific sights that met me when I dreamed Agony, turmoil, disease, despair Prejudice, greed, pride, corruption Their faces merged and gave an eerie glare An enveloping, deadly, bleeding eruption Then, I saw clouds form above my head Becoming more dense and more full Yet keeping the image of a soft white bed Turning all sense of dread to null Those clouds, those heavens, opened the gate Dousing the plains with a heavy, majestic rain Driving back the blackness, sealing its fate Restoring piece the newly cleansed plain ***** Frostbitten Clock They say that time flows like a river Counting down our earthly life Yet we always desire to travel upstream To turn back what gave us strife And even when it runs on track On occasion, it seems to feel Like the clock stands frozen in place With fate nipping at our heels It refuses to run forward Impossible to forget the past As we see our failures blending Can't tell the first from the last Depression seeps into our mind As we struggle to control What we want to piece together To understand what we don't know But that clock still won't move It remains where it stands And what we often forget to do Is to turn it with our own hands We spend all out time thinking Mulling things over in our heads We use it as an excuse So we don't do what we dread What we must learn to do As that clock sits on the shelf Is cast aside it's frozen glare And just move forward ourselves ***** Broken World, Torn Apart by Pride A wave crashes against the moonlit shore, As the sounds echo against its sandy floor. The sorrowful sounds a young man’s cries, Along with the fools who tell their foolish lies. So there the man lies, broken and bloody, While the fools simply laugh, loud and cruelly. He lay on the street, fastened down by bullets. The siren blares from an ambulance in the distance. The fools gather ‘round, composing their tale, “We were minding our business, clean as a white sail. Then these men came down, with their guns ablaze, And this poor young man couldn’t get out of the way.” They helped him into the vehicle, to seal their fraud. The ambulance sped off, disappearing into the fog. The fools ran away, boastful and proud For what they had done to the poor man on the ground. The man lies in the emergency room, doctors begin to crowd. To tear away from that helpless man, Death's solemn shroud. They removed the bullets, sent shocks through his heart, and The line went flat . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Just what was the cause of this heinous crime, you ask? His skin was slightly darker than the skin behind their prideful masks. They killed him without thought or care to who he truly was. They simply judged by how he looked, not by what he does. How long will this world stay, wrapped in evil and despair? How long must we live in fear of prejudice's freezing glare? The time that rids this world of all that corrupts liberty, Will not be until the Lord comes to set this world free. ***** Thanks for reading! |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Hmm, I haven't posted anything here for a bit, LOL! Thanks for all the feedback, and, well, here are a few more. I hope you all like them ![]() ***** Road to Reality First step, the road is clear Second step, the light is here Third step, a day goes by Fourth step, believing the lie Fifth step, a crack in the road Sixth step, the disappearing node Seventh step, the path behind falls Eighth step, the path ahead falls Ninth step, walking on air Tenth step, searching for There Eleventh step reading a tome Twelfth step, searching for home Thirteenth step, finding a guide Fourteenth step, heading inside Fifteenth step, reality found ***** Subtle Combustion A sound rang in my ears Tiny explosions blossoming Into the raging fires of fear And the distinct crackle of lightning Mixing with the smoke’s fume I was enveloped by that sullen tune Society was shattered to the ground Nature was ripped from its weakened home Every creature on Earth turned around Staring at the source of the threatening moon Looking up it with widened eyes The terrible curse of society’s vise A retrospective that was never heard Past and Present meet in deadly reunion History’s annals the world never learned Its lessons cast from comprehension A world steeped in corruption and sin A culture that quietly explodes from within ***** A Tribute to Gangs Their roots in insanity Questioning humanity Spreading all their mockery Indulging in frivolity Wandering incessantly Enhancing their ranks wantonly Disregarding openly The rights that we all can see Filling up their pride with kill after kill Tearing off the neighborhood down to the frill We tried to keep quiet, we tried to keep still But that only works as long as we can foot the bill And with the victims' blood, wrote their names on the wall Trying to guarantee that this city's about to fall To those running fast and to those who start to crawl Their cascading lies form the highest waterfall We can't stand by quietly We can't hide the misery We can't wait for liberty They won't give it willingly We all have to make them see This city isn't theirs for free It's for all who live lovingly And those who care doubtlessly ***** Sophisticated Simplicity Stargazer Staring up into the sky Shooting Star Falls down near by Simple A vast empty space Beautiful A truly gorgeous place Stars A small blip at night Nova A star loses it's light Planet A rock inside nowhere Life A cradle that's fair Cluster A group of tiny stars Nebula An array seen from afar Stargazer Jotting down what he sees Artist Painting that starry sea ***** Well, that's all for now. Thanks for reading! |

Rep Power: 2 ![]() | Hmm . . . Yep! Haven't been here in awhile either ![]() Here are a couple that I thought I'd add. The second one is a style that I don't usually do, but I thought I'd give it a try! Enjoy! ***** Flower in the Graveyard Soft snow fluttered down from the ashen sky Hiding the earth beneath a blanket of white It was across that sheet that I met her eye I felt as though I was being blinded by light We spent our days chatting hour after hour As winter’s dead grip slowly gave way to spring Each day that passed, our voices grew louder Until everyone in town became aware of our fling The heat of summer revealed itself at last Though the days grew longer, they were far too short Neither of us longed nor cared for the past To us, our relationship was made of that sort When the leaves began to fall; so, too, our concerns Yet our carelessness would soon become our demise A poor estimation of one too many turns Led to the loss of someone I had once prized Once again, the snow fell, and it came to rest On the ground, yet around the flower that I gave To the place where the two of us first met Only now, in this yard, I stand before her grave ***** Swirling Red Wine Shattered Glass The remnants of my eyes Broken Vows The remnants of my words The strength in my body Kept dwindling Dwindling Until the very essence of life Felt as if it had flown from my body To attach to one more deserving Far more deserving Than I I tried to amend Tried to make right The things that I had done To my pledge But no words could heal Those deep wounds They were all worth less Than the wine glass in my hand ***** I'll add more when they are ready, that's a promise! |
