Question [NaNoWriMo] Brick After Brick

...I actually have no clue why I'm posting this. I'm going by my NaNo book and it says don't share anything but excerpts until you're done. Well, this is an excerpt and I'm going to share it. And, ODD TWIST! :D I don't want feedback... yet. I'm going to edit/rewrite this starting in December after NaNo. Right now, my focus is writing the bloody thing and punching my inner editor in the face. Getting feedback in terms of criticism would make my inner editor, so if you comment, PLEASE don't criticise yet.

See? Dunno why I'm posting this, but okaaaaaay. Here it goes! :D I'll post up excerpts that I like until the end of the month, I guess. I'm also going to be explaining NOTHING about this, besides the fact that it's a Disney World fanfic/original story that takes place in Disney World. And it's a dark fantasy novel. :]

--------------------------

Thin, white fingers pressing and stabbing through feeble flesh.

Those hazel orbs reflected, like glass, the twists of sapphire and silver, dancing betwixt the orange and green lights reflected from that most wonderful castle. No matter how much her arms shook and swung, those things would never move aside. They scraped and scratched, those hands reaching for that thin neck of her's. To dig their fingers into her flesh and let those sapphire waves take her down into midnight blue.

Why fight? She could see her arms flailing, legs kicking, but nothing moved the skeletal warriors. They crept closer through the waters. While she was clinging to her neck, fighting for air. Fighting to escape! But her moves starting becoming slow and blurry.

Hazel spheres darted to the side... spotting him. He nearly mixed with the water that had claimed him, sinking down further and further. The skeletal warriors didn't dare bother him.

Water was his weakness: he sunk like a rock upon setting or jumping into it.

Thin lips moved, the only words transforming into visible marks of bubbles floating higher and higher into the light above the waters.

Bubbles floating out... water came rushing in.

Everything starting twisting together: blues, greys, whites, greens, and oranges were a swirled mess. Only a blur! Weights were chained to her wrists and ankles, chains drapping over her arms and legs and torso. Heavy iron, tinted white; just like the skeletons that once occupied these waters.

The iron turned to nothing more than dark grey specks of dust, shimmering in the deep blue. The weights were gone, yet the heaviness was still there. The wet wrath curled around her skin and clothes was now staring straight back. Her fingers pressed against white, staring down into the swirls of yellows and oranges.

That night's dinner was staring back.

The thought of what that mess was made a harsh movement of her throat come up and down. Her hand impulsively slammed into her face, over her mouth.

Nothing else came up; thank goodness! Her thin hand slammed onto the dark grey metal, as the back of her opposing hand moved across her lips.

With a shish and a slam!, it all went away.

That night's dream made her so sick to her stomach, something odd indeed.

Her fingers pressed against the linoleum, crawling on hands and knees over to the side of the cramped, midnight blue bathroom.

"Fun dream, huh?" her voice question low in a quick mutter to the figure in the corner. Her fair-tinted fingers pushed forwards, feeling soft, fuzzy fabric beneath the pads of her fingers.

Hand twisted in a fist, she grabbed the figure: nothing more than a motionless stuffed animal. She held it in her grasp, its torso between her hands.

Blue fur, big round black eyes, claws, and floppy ears. It was rattery and grudgy from age and use; her dearest toy.

"Wonder... what's going on," a faint chuckle escaped through her crooked, white teeth, "Didn't know you could have a nightmare in that place."

The plush pressed against the young girl's torso, strands of soft fur tuffs tickling her chin as she wrapped her thin arms around the toy.

It was just a stuffed animal; nothing more...

Yet, it seemed to have just a touch of consciousness. It, or he, knew what she was talking about.
