Default Fatal Legend

Before I begin, I would like to point out that this is in no way the finished version of the story, but the rough draft, so to speak. Criticism is welcomed greatly. Also, this story takes place in around the good ol' year of 2006. So, enjoy and what-not.

------

Prologue

I stared through the glass, raindrops falling upon it. It was raining. Rain was good, especially now, since our city had been lacking the last few months in rain. And it is September, being one of the many rain months. But what I don't understand is why it was raining so hard tonight. Harder than I had ever seen before. The whole city must have noticed as well, for everyone seemed astounded.

My name is RC. I'm a middle school student, 6th grade, age 11. If someone had told me before any of this had started that I was to be a "hero", I would have thought it was wonderful. But I was stupid, hell, who says I'm not still stupid. Anyway, I've been having some weird dreams lately. And some have even been interfering with my everyday life. Like, in science the other day. Me and Rick (my best friend since 3rd grade) had been working on some worksheets, and then, I just blacked out. But it was weird. I heard unfamiliar voices, and what I witnessed was nothing I had seen before. But I haven't told anyone about these dreams.

"RC!" My sister shouted. I looked away from the window, and stared at her. She was approaching me, and I realized it was that time already. For the last year, my sister had been trying to get me into shape, to train me into a fighter. I'm still not completely sure myself. But she's really dedicated to teaching me, it's weird. I guess she just wants me to be able to kick anyone's ass. I got up from the floor, and then followed my sister into her room to practice.

------

I will most likely post the first chapter later. Anyway, please leave your thoughts and comments and what-not.

Thank you. And I'm thinking I should keep it as first person, although originally it was supposed to be just some Narrator telling the story. But I didn't like how that was going along.

Yay. I can see people like my style then. Anyway, hopefully my next few entries will be as satisfying (or better) than the opening.

Chapter Uno - Code of Conduct for Bathrooms

"Ugh. I'm so exhausted," I said, as I threw my head lazily on the desk face down.

"Is your sister still training you?" Rick asked. He was sitting next to me, for we were in science (which happened to be our first period). Rick was a really good looking guy. He was athletic, had hazel-tone skin, dark brown eyes, and curly hair. Sometimes I wondered if it were messy, spiked, or both. He wore a gray shirt that read: NIMITZ MIDDLE SCHOOL PHYSICAL ED, and then khaki uniform pants. I guess he was one of the few to hit puberty early, since he was already starting to get a different voice and hair. Like I said before, we met in third grade. It was through one of my other best friends, Josh.

"Yes. I don't understand why, though. I mean, what am I gonna even need it for?"

"Well, if you ever got in a fight-"

"Na, duh Sherlock Holmes," I said, finally raising my head back up from off of the desk.

"Oh dude, I was watching Clerks the other day!"

"Oh my god, remember when we watched that together?"

"Yeah, it was awesome! Dude, I that movie is-" And of course, almost as if on cue, she started talking. Her name was Debris Mac... or Ms. Mac. She had graying blond hair, was a big person, and had small glasses. And of course, this irritating voice. It was like fingers scraping a chalkboard. She would always forget what lessons we did, and would have us redo them sometimes. Then, she would swear none of us were in our assigned seats (which sometimes was true), but we most of the time were. Maybe she needs to retire early.

But for the next few minutes, all I could hear was 'ramble ramble ramble'. I had to tune out her voice from my head, or else I would explode. That sounds a bit wrong, but I'm not exaggerating. Ugh, this was getting boring fast. I looked over at Rick, who looked almost as bored as me. We started to quietly talk for a bit, but stopped when Ms. Mac caught us, and told us to "shut yer yap". Thus again, I stared blankly while listening to 'ramble ramble ramble'. Until I saw something extremely bizarre.

"What the..?" I said quietly, almost a mumble. How could no one else see it? Behind Ms. Mac, something was being written on the white board, but no one was there. They had the red marker, and they wrote: No longer are you SAFE, for now we are going to do what should have been done ages ago. I looked around at everyone else, as the marker kept writing on the board, but no one noticed. It was almost as if only I could see it. And I did not like that at all.

"Ms. Mac, can I go to the bathroom?" I said, wanting to leave immediately. But she just turned away from the class, seeming upset that I interrupted her. Then, she wrote me a pass, and I left for the bathroom.

I splashed water on my face, just like all the protagonists in horror movies did after seeing something bizarre. There wasn't really anything there, right? I just imagined it. Ghosts, spirits, etc. really did exist. I knew that. But, of all people and places, they wouldn't be here, or have picked me, right? But, what if it isn't a ghost? What if it's not even real, though? I'm doing all of this worrying for nothing. On the other hand, what if it is real? What then? Does this mean I'm going to die? I've seen many horror movies, and shows, and the normal ones almost always die.

"Ugh. Get a grip. Out of all the people in world, why would they pester you?" I said to my reflection, looking at it. Then, I heard small noises. Footsteps. Someone was walking close by. I turned around to face the door of the bathroom, and I saw it shake harshly. I didn't remember locking the door, so why is it? I continued to watch the door shake, and it seemed almost as if whatever was on the other side could not have the strength of a middle school kid. In fact, it seemed inhuman. The walls even began to shake, and I could feel the ground beneath me shake as well. And there was no way this could have been an earthquake.

Then, the door broke down, falling harshly on the ground with a loud thud sound. I could feel the room starting to shake harder, and I began to run into one of the stalls, and hid in it. What the hell was out there..? I squatted down, just enough to see hordes of feet if they stood around or in front of my stall. But as I did this, the room fell silent, but yet it was still having quakes with no noise. Finally, I began to hear something, but it sounded like groaning. Then, I saw something in front of the closed stall door. Dark, burned feet. Whatever was on that side of the door, it began to grab the door, and began to pry it open. I then looked around me, and saw I could fit through the wholes that lead throughout the stalls, and make it to the door whilst the person on the other side wouldn't notice. Then, I began to crawl through, and I could hear them tearing through the door of my original stall. Then, a loud screeching sound arose from behind that made me collapse onto the cold tile floor. It was then followed by loud breaking noises, and I realized what was in fact being broke. the stalls. It was this determined to get me. And I didn't even know what it was. I tried to continue to crawl, and eventually made it out from the last stall. I then grabbed the bathroom door, but it was stuck. It was opened, but it wouldn't open. I banged and banged on the door, and then, all of the noise and the quakes stopped, and I fell to the ground as the door swung open. I looked up to see who it was, but no one was there. The door lied open, and I as I looked through around myself, it looked as if nothing had happened.

Lunch finally came around, and in a way, I dreaded lunch. I didn’t really talk specifically to many people, therefore I only sat with a select few, and the tables were almost always full before I got a chance to sit. And naturally, today had to be different. Of course, there had to be a spot opened at the table with Rick, and my other friend Tim. I sighed, and began to walk over towards their table. I really didn’t want to sit with Rick today because he always knows when something is bothering me, but what happened felt feel and unreal at the same time. So, which is it? And I can’t just be all like Hey Rick, guess what? Some strange spirit or something along and started haunting me. See ya later. No, that would make me seem like a liar, freak, or crazy (not going to rule out crazy). I’m still not even sure if want happened was just a hallucination my mind conjured up, or if it was real. After all, the mind is a very powerful source, and can make us think things that don’t exist are there, even when they’re not. But, of course, I sat down at that table, and directly across from Rick.

“Hey bro,” Rick said to me, as he stuffed the gross school Nachos into his mouth. Trust me when I say that the school lunches are usually just horrid. And sometimes, at the snack bar they even sell their own food there! Yeah, I know right?

“Uhh… hey,” I said, sort of stumbling on the words as I said them. Rick stared up from his food and started to eye me weird, and put back the nacho in his hand into the small paper bowl on his tray.

“What’s with you? You’ve been all quiet and distant ever since you had to go to the bathroom.”

“Nothing’s wrong. I feel fine,” Liar. I wanted to tell Rick, but I didn’t know how to, and couldn’t tell him here. “I guess I’m just tired.”

Rick just rolled his eyes and continued to chow down his food. Tim and him then began to talk, and I tried listening, honestly, but I couldn’t. I kept replaying the bathroom scene in my head, over, and over, and over. Eventually, I got so wrapped up in my thoughts, I hadn’t noticed that I had walked all the way to Theater Arts already, until I actually sat in my seat.

“Hey, RC,” said a guy named Joseph (who was obnoxious and one of the “Populars”) came and sat next to me, and I suddenly began to tense up greatly. Great, just what I needed right now, some asshole to come and be a natural ass. “Can you draw boobs?” He asked me, snickering, as I could hear his cronies in the background also laughing. These people were really annoying.

I turn around to him. “Can you stop being such an ass all the time?” I asked him, adding in a bit of my own ass-ness. I was only an ass when another ass pushed my ass too far. (Wait, what?)

“What the hell did you-?” He began, beginning to get upset, and his cronies began to shut up in the background. Joseph rose up from his seat, and was about to finish his sentence, when the teacher walked in.
“Alright class, get in your assigned seats please.” Her name was Mrs. Morales-Davenport. She was the youngest teacher here, I think. About 21 or even 20. I remember she used to come to my fifth grade class occasionally to visit our class or something. I’m not sure what you would really call it, although she was a much better teacher than the actual fifth grade teacher we had. But I digress.

Joseph looked over at me angrily, and I just smiled simply. He got up and went to his seat further below in the rows of seats, and I listened to what Ms. Morales had began to tell us. Since the previous week we had a substitute and behaved, Ms. Morales decided to let us play Hide and Seek in the auditorium. Hide and Seek is considered a kids game, but it is quite enjoyable no matter what age, especially when in a auditorium when all the lights are turned off and you can hide basically anywhere.

So, after about five minutes, we were finally ready to play. Ms. Morales picked someone to look for everyone to find us, turned off all the lights except the stage lights, and then took the finder outside to count to 30. I began to look for a spot to hide, and found something I hadn’t encountered yet. A door, all the way in the very back of the auditorium. And it seemed unlocked, for it was cracked open. I figured it would be fine if I hid in her, after all, Ms. Morales never said we could hide in this room. Then again, I don’t think I had ever encountered this room before. I quickly got to the door before anyone else, and opened it quietly, and entered. I turned around to face the door, and closed it quietly, as I could still hear everyone outside, scrambling for hiding spots. How could they have not seen this room? Some of them had been over here before me, but hadn’t chosen it. I guess I was in luck then. Turning around, I saw nothing but darkness fill the room. It seemed roomy, and small at the same time. I took steps forward, step by step. The room suddenly felt endless, for I felt as if I could walk further and further, and never reach the end.

I finally gave up on walking, and listened to the noises outside. But, when I nothing was heard, I immediately felt in danger. “Calm down, it’s just that everyone is trying to be as quiet as possible. There’s nothing to be fretting over.” But I still couldn’t stop worrying. Something felt odd, and not in a good way. Suddenly, flashbacks began to replay throughout my head from within the bathroom earlier. And then, I could see a face, a strange face. It reminded me of the creatures in Silent Hill and the Dusks in Kingdom Hearts 2: the shape of their head was like upside-down teardrop; it’s eyes were covered in an abundance of dirty bandages; their mouths seemed sown shut, strings going in and out from around the area of the lips. Then, slowly, the thread unraveled from the area of the lips, and the creature opened it’s mouth wide and bellowed loudly. The sound echoed throughout my ears, and I closed my eye hard from the pain due to my reflexes. I fell to the ground on my knees, trying to block the sound with my hands over my ears, and then pure quiet again. I opened my eyes, and suddenly a dull light appeared from above me. I was back in the room, but this room looked like it belonged else where. The walls were all worn down and the sheet rock peeling from the surface. The floor looked as if there had been a fire, hell, the whole place seemed like there had been a fire here.

Then, the floor began to shake, and three strange white blotches began to form on the floor. The blotches then began to rise up and take form of strange beings: they stood at about half the size of me, which would probably be around 2 and a half feet; their bodies were pure white; their postures were reminiscent of spider’s, but they only had four legs on the ground and moved similar; their arms were skinny and long, but seemed to carve into a sharp point that could inflict a fatal injury; and their smiles were creepy, wide and open, revealing their long fangs. What the hell was this thing…? I began to slowly step backwards, and they seemed to shiver and stare at me. My body suddenly felt cold, and I knew something: I was clearly in danger. I turned quickly towards the door, and began to run towards it. I grabbed the handle of the door and tried harshly to open it, but it wouldn’t budge. I slammed my body against it, but that still didn’t work. I turned around to the creatures, and saw that they were slowly approaching, walking like just like spiders. I wasn’t sure what to do. I felt so scared, I thought I was going to get killed. Looking around frantically, I found a long wooden board. It was long and rectangular, but with a point at the end. Quickly, I grabbed it with my right hand, and then prepared to use it if necessary.

One of the beasts launched at me, and as it began to come towards me, I aimed the wooden board into the air, and began to spin, and it collided into the beast, knocking it backwards. Then, the other two came at me, so I ducked, and they slammed into the wall behind me. Suddenly, I felt a rise of hope in me, like I could actually do this. I held my board in both my hands, gripping tightly, and ran towards the first beast as it began to get back up. I raised the board high into the air, and then slammed it on the top of the beast’s head, knocking it harshly in the ground. I kept smashing the board into the beast’s body, keeping it down, when one of the others attacked me from behind. As I fell on my front, my grip on my wooden board slipped, and I quickly reached for it, and turned onto my backside, and saw that one of the beast’s was going to try and pounce on me. I quickly jumped up, and my feet collided into it as I sprung into the air. I landed on the beast, and then it turned into white smoke. I wasn’t sure what happened, but I think I had managed to defeat one of them. I turned around, and saw the other two, as they began to sprint towards me. Re-gripping my board in both hands, I began to rapidly slash at the creatures. Slash, cut, bash, slash, bam, smash. Then, I managed to defeat another one, as they turned into white smoke. The other beast took a lunge at me, so I began to twirl and slammed my wooden board into the beast repeatedly, and it eventually turned into white smoke. Finally, I stopped spinning, and then dropped the wooden board, and fell to my knees. I wasn’t sure what just happened, but all of a sudden I just conked out.

It felt like only a few seconds, but I began to open my eyes. But nothing but empty darkness surrounded me, and I began to squint, looking for some sort of light. Finally, I got my sights fixated on small gleans coming from something, and I rose up and began to walk towards it. Slowly, I reached the source of light, and realized it was the entrance to this room, the room I entered for Hide and Seek in the auditorium. I stopped moving and quietly began to listen, and could hear fumbling outside of the room. I grabbed the knob, and began to turn it. No way did I want to be stuck in this room. I quickly exited, and began to search for another hiding spot.

Thank god school was finally over. I felt as if today would never end. I walked out of reading after the bell rang, and began to walk to my locker. School felt awkward today. I felt uneasy and really on edge. Probably everyone else noticed that, because nobody really said anything to me. Not even the “Populars” who usually had something to say said anything to me. At least now all I had to do was go home and I could finally rest and try to act like nothing happened. I grabbed all my stuff, threw it into my backpack, and then closed my locker. Then, I turned away and began to walk towards the stairs and found myself on the first floor. I continued walking, but then I saw Rick over at his locker. Everything that happened today was certainly something I wanted to tell him about, but I wasn’t sure if I really should. He was my best friend, but would he even believe me?

“Hey Rick,” I said, as I stood by his locker. He began to take items out and put them in his backpack, and then slammed the locker shut.

“Hey RC,” he said, as he spun around to face me. He began to walk, so I followed after. We usually walked together sometimes, so I figured maybe I should tell him while we’re walking. We went out of the school’s main building, and walked to the crosswalk. I wanted to wait at least until we crossed the street, so maybe then I could try to talk to him about it. And we did cross, but I kept putting it off. Finally, the words just slipped.

“Rick, could I talk to you about something?” I asked, stopping in the middle of the sidewalk.

“Yeah, what is it bro?” He said as he stopped walking as well.

“Well, not here. There’s too many people around.” I began to look around, and then saw the small ditch me and some of my other friends used to hang out at. Rick saw what I was trying to say, and so he began to walk towards the ditch. I followed.

“What is it?” He asked, as we finally reached the ditch. Nobody was around, so this was the perfect chance.

“Rick, have you ever had weird dreams? Like, stuff that normally doesn’t happen to you happens in them, and it feels abnormally real?”

“Doesn’t everyone?” Great, now I have to be more specific.

“Do you believe in ghosts and spirits and all that mumbo jumbo?” I did, but I wanted to see if he did or not. But I could tell by the look on his face he was beginning to get confused. “You remember how I’ve been acting really strange lately, right? Well, something happened earlier. Twice, and both at different times. First it was back in the bathroom, and-” I told Rick everything that happened, how I felt, everything the way it happened.

“Dude, stop messing around. We gotta get home!” He said, and turned away in disbelief. I knew it, not even my best friend would believe me.

“Rick, I’m not lying to you. When have I ever told you any stories like this? I wouldn’t lie about something like this.”

“RC, you know I can’t believe that. It sounds like fiction, or something out of a video game.”

“Rick, stop,” I said, grabbing his shoulder as he began to walk away. “You saw how freaked out I was earlier. You can always tell when something’s wrong with me. What else could have caused me to act like this, huh? Why would I tell my best friend about this unless it was true and I was confused?”

He turned around to face me, still with a bit of disbelief on his face. I think I got somewhat through to him, but he still didn’t completely believe me. I just sighed and began to walk away. We ended up walking together in silence, until I reached my house. I said bye to him, and then quickly crossed the street to my house. I went to my door, and turned around. I looked over at Rick, and felt sort of upset. Finally, I turned back around to my front door, and tried to open it. But, of course, it was locked. So, I knocked, and then I could hear everyone inside scrambling to get the keys. Finally, my mom opened the door and the burglar bar, and I walked in. My parents gave me the usual treatment, asking me how my day was, and I replied with either my usual witty remarks. Sometimes I would complain about the people, the lunch, or just the day. Today was no different. It was sort of like a involuntary reflex or whatever it was called. I went to my room, tossed my backpack onto the floor, and dropped myself atop of my bed.

“What the heck is happening to me…?”

Why thank you. ^-^ Anyway, here's Chapter II for you peeps.

Chapter II - Would You Like Some Awkward With That Sandwich?

When I arrived at school, it was like every other morning - almost. I had been avoiding Rick throughout the whole morning, and he’d most likely been doing the same. Everyone was talking about it, strangely enough. I may not have been a popular, but I guess the status of me and Rick’s friendship was a hot topic. I could hear them as I passed, talking about how strange it was that we hadn’t been talking, and it was barely the morning! I walked passed all the groups of people that were huddled around in the breezeway, and began to walk myself towards the bleachers by the portables. I figured that hanging out in the breezeway would be hard, especially if the same people I hung out with there were with Rick at the time.

I tossed my stuff onto the top of the last bleacher, away from all of civilization, and sat, thinking about what I would do throughout my classes. My classes were:

1st Period - Science (w/ Rick)
2nd & 3rd Period - Math Pre-AP (w/ Rick)
Sixth Grade Lunch (w/ Rick)
4th - Theater Arts (No Rick)
5th - Social Studies (w/ Rick)
6th - P.E. (Occasional Rick)
7th - English Pre-AP (w/ Rick)
&
8th Period - Reading Pre-AP (w/ Rick)

The only time I would get away from him was 4th and possibly 6th, but the rest of the day would be chalked full of him. What was I supposed to do when I saw him? And it didn’t help that in each class we had assigned seating by alphabetical order in last names (my last name being Rejino and his being Rodriguez). I wanted to talk to him, but I thought it would be awkward after what happened after school. Sure, it’s not like we had an accidental make-out session or he caught me committing a felony, but still.

Finally, something brought me out of my thoughts. I felt something - or someone - staring at me. For some reason, I could always tell when people were looking at me, and I hated it. It made me feel really self-conscious and fidget. I turned around to see who it was, and there I found Dory. Good, it was only Dory. Suddenly, I became myself again and lost all the fidgeting and self-conscious and what-not stuff, and she walked over to my side of the bleachers. Dory was really pretty, and I had a slight crush on her. Her hair was jet black, straight and long; her eyes were hazel like a acorn; her skin tone was brown; her lips were skinny and normal-length, but naturally a red-esque color. She was about 4’ 11, three inches shorter than me. She wore uniform as well, but had all the buttons on her shirt unbuttoned with a red under shirt underneath (which was most likely a spaghetti strap), khaki pants and a clip in her hair (you know, those small ones that girls put on the sides of their heads). To me, she was one of the only girls here who was pretty and didn’t act like a whore or where any make-up (which shows she could actually pull off the natural look).

“Hey Dory,” I said, feeling slightly happy that someone came to talk to me.

“Hey Aaarrccceee!” She said, stretching out my name while smiling. “What’re you doing over here?” Then, she began to climb up on the bleachers and sat next to me. I never felt shy or awkward around her, even when she was close to me. Yet, with Rick I did. Whenever I saw him, talked to him, hell, he could be all the way on the other side of the world and I’d still feel that way. It was confusing, sort of like the Da Vinci Code.

“Oh, you know, just sitting.”

“Is something going on between you and Rick?” Wow. I couldn’t believe she just blurted it out like that. It’s like being in the hospital for a casual sickness, and she walks in and asks me first if I’m dying yet. What-the-eff! And of course, I had to say something completely not what she was expecting, and had nothing to do with the discussion at hand.

“Were not gay.” Shit.

“…What?”

“That’s not what you meant, is it?”

“Errr, no.”

“Oh… What do you mean then?” I knew exactly what she meant: Why weren’t me and Rick hanging out like we usually do? There hadn’t been a morning where we hadn’t hung out, let alone not say a word to each other.

“Well, you guys seem… distant.”

“It’s no big deal. Jeeze, why is everyone getting all pumped up over me and Rick not saying hi?”

“Maybe because you guys are inseparable. You guys are like best buds, never leave each other’s side, always hang out, you know.”

“W… Were still friends.” I had to think about that one for a few seconds. Were we still friends? I doubt me randomly bursting out about how I was freaking out over monsters attacking me throughout the day would scare Rick off. But, then again, what would I have done if I were in Rick’s shoes? That’s a silly question! I wouldn’t stop being friends with him - just think he was imagining things again. Wait, then if I were to think that, then I shouldn’t really blame Rick for not believing me - hell, I could hardly believe it myself. Maybe I should talk to him? But in first period. If I went now Dory would think he was the reason why. Plus, who’s to say someone else didn’t send her to find out.

Okay, here I am, in first period. Rick hasn’t gotten here yet. It’s weird, he’s usually always here before me. He knows I dread coming to Science. But maybe he went in the bathroom and got his butt stuck in the toiler, which wouldn’t be surprising. I stared forward at the whiteboard in front of the class, as it had the agenda written on it and a warm-up that we had to do again, although Ms. Mac swore we hadn’t. I was used to it already, because it seemed like she reached the age where she was having memory problems already.

15 minutes passed, and still no sign of Rick. Something didn’t feel right. Something felt off. Why hadn’t Rick come yet? He was here. It made no sense. Even if he was in the bathroom. But something inside was screaming at me to go and find him. I guess I wasn’t sure why then, but looking back, I can clearly see why. I raised my hand, and Ms. Mac nodded. I asked to go to the bathroom, that it was an emergency, and she let me go with no argument. I guess she was in a good mood today.

I walked around in the hallway, looking for Rick, and as I did, all the classroom doors were closed, locked, and the small windows were covered up with flyers or papers. Weird. I continued on, looking down the second floor hallway I currently inhabited, but still no sign of him. When I reached the bathrooms, I remembered that this one had no doors. I dunno why, but the school insisted on the bathrooms by the main staircases have no doors EXCEPT for the girls. I guess they didn’t trust the guys at all. Not surprising. They were the ones who mainly tagged every. Single. Time. I peered in, and saw nothing but another turn into the bathroom, and a pink wall. The guys bathrooms were pink, and the girls were baby blue (You think it’d be the other way around, right?). I decided to continue further into the bathroom, and after I turned the corner, I heard the door slam loudly. Shit.

Slowly, I edged my way further into the bathroom, and came across the sinks and an empty space on the wall were the mirrors used to be. I walked further, and passed by the urinals. Still no one. Finally, I reached the stalls and sunk back downwards like before, seeing if Rick was in there. I felt an eerie chill chasing down my back. I never got a chance to look, because right then is when I felt it - something was grabbing my shoulder.

I spun around quickly and was about to attack, but I saw it was Rick.

“Rick!” I said, and jumped upwards. He was fine. Of course he was, why was I so paranoid? Nothing would ever happen to-

Blood leaked downward from Rick’s left arm, and I realized that he was slouching on his left side, and held his left shoulder with his right hand. “Rick, what happened?”

“I’m not sure. These things just came out of nowhere and began attacking me.”
“What did they look like?”

“I can’t remember. All I know is that I was here, and then something came from behind. But it wasn’t… it wasn’t like a normal person. I know that.”

No. No way. This was just a coincidence. Nothing related to me and those creatures before happened here. Some kid just caught Rick off guard. That’s all. “I think we’d better get out of here Rick.” He nodded, and so I began walking to the door, but I remembered Rick’s problem, and saw he was having trouble walking by himself.

“Here, let me help,” I said, and tossed his left arm over my shoulder gently, held it with my left hand securely, and grabbed onto the top of his jeans to help him out. I’d seen it in kingdom hearts II, after Riku and Sora defeated the main villain, Xemnas (Or Mansex is what I liked to call him).

“Thanks.” Rick said, and he helped me out by using his legs slightly to move, while I did the rest of the work. But for some reason, I started to feel that strange feeling I get around him - uneasy, sweating, nervous fidgeting, everything - yet, I felt good around him, safe, secure, and right. I wasn’t quite sure why, but I shook it off, and continued out of the bathroom, opened the door, and proceeded out into the hallway.

Rick wasn’t that heavy. He felt sort of light, which I found odd. Maybe all that training with my sister was finally working out. Or maybe it was at that moment I felt more determined and stronger then ever.

“I should get you to a nurse.”

“Yeah.”

I walked across from the bathroom to the main staircase, but as I made it down the first row and decided to try and proceed down the second, the lights down in the first level were flickering. And suddenly, I could sense it - the eerie feeling, like what happened before.

“What’s wrong…?”

“Do you trust me?”

“What-?”

“Do you?”

“Yeah.”

“Okay.” And with that, I quickly spun around from the second staircase and proceeded back up the first. “We need to pick up speed.” I said, and began moving faster. I headed across, but slightly diagonal. Next to the bathrooms was a small breezeway outside on the second floor that led to an elevator. I knew I could go down that hall, and had to head and far away as possible.

“What’s wrong?”

“Rick, you remember what I told you the other day, right?”

“Y…yeah.” I could tell he didn’t like where this was going, but neither did I. I think we both knew though that I was right, even though I hadn’t even said it yet.

“I think that it’s happening again.” I didn’t want to believe it, not one bit. I cringed at the very idea. But we both knew it was happening, we may not have liked it, we may not have wanted to admit it, but it was happening. I kept going, trying to get there faster and faster, and I could feel Rick was trying, too. We grew closer and closer, and then we were at the door that led to it. I pushed it harshly, and I heard a loud screeching noise coming from it. I forgot it was button activated, not manually able to open. But this wasn’t the time to care. We reached outside, and Rick decided to try walking now on his own. I turned back around quickly, and shut the door, halting it from making anymore noises. I looked down, trying to find something to hold the door closed, to barricade it.

“RC!” Rick yelled, and I turned around. He was already in the elevator. I figured we couldn’t waste anymore time, so I hurried in after him, not bothering to barricade the door. I ran in, pressed the down button, and then followed to push the door close button. When it did and we were safe, I saw something under my foot. I picked it up, and held it in the air - it was a pipe.

“Who leaves a pipe in an elevator?” I wondered, and looked at Rick, having forgotten for two seconds this was an urgent matter. He looked pale, like he’d seen a ghost, and was sweating like crazy. “Rick…” I put my hand on his shoulder, and tried to smile. It’s weird, I thought I would always be the one who needed to be reassured that I was fine by Rick, not the other way around!

“I’m… fine.” He said, and began to look down, confused. Then, he looked back up at me, and said “Shouldn’t we have stopped by now?”

He was right. We were on the second floor, not the fifty-first. So why hadn’t we stopped yet? I knew we were going, because I could feel the pull of the elevator bringing us down with it. Why weren’t we stopping? I looked at the buttons, but when I did, the elevator began to shake violently. I fell backwards, and could hear Rick fall down, too. Then, the lights went out, and I couldn’t see a thing. The elevator stopped, and opened afterwards.

I wish it hadn’t.

Okay, finally finished Chapter Three. I think it needs some work, since I sort of did it while rushing so I could update this thread with it. Although, y'all maybe notice some things in here that pay homage to Final Fantasy and the original weapon idea for Kingdom Hearts. And, it's sort of short, but I'll make sure the next chapter makes up for the shortness of this one. Anyway, enjoy.

------

Chapter Three - Oh Hell Na, Disney Ain't Objecting To My Zipper Blade!

Rick pulled out his phone for light, but we could barely we a thing. I asked him to give me the phone, and started looking around the elevator. Was there some switch that could possibly re-power this thing? I doubted it. Damn it.

I handed Rick back his phone, and proceeded to go ahead and make sure everything was safe - and make sure Rick didn’t get hurt. As I began to walk out, and I turned back around and thought about what if something got him while I had my back turned. So, I looked back at the elevator buttons, and went to press the door close button. I hoped it would work. I pressed it, and it lit up.

“What’re you doing?” Rick asked, sounding concerned.

“Protecting you.” I didn’t wait for a response, as the doors then closed. That would keep him safe for now, at least, I hoped it would. When the doors were shut all the way, I knew he’d be panicking to try and get out, to be dead weight. But I couldn’t let that happen, and I doubt he would even be able to reach the door open button, seeing as how injured he was. That’s why I had to leave him there, safe, secluded, with nothing to worry about. And I think he understood, because he didn’t protest or yell, which I most likely would have heard.

Finally, I turned away from the elevator, and stared in the empty hallway. My eyes were beginning to get used to the darkness shrouding the place, but I still couldn’t see shit. I spread my arms around the area, trying to find a wall or something solid to guide my way through. I was brought here on purpose, not by chance, so there must have been something I needed to do on this floor. Then this would all end. It would have to. And then no more dreams, no more creatures, and no more Rick getting hurt. I would wake up and it would all be a dream. Ha, yeah right I thought.

As moved further through the darkness, my foot kicked something, and a light appeared. I looked below, and rolling a bit away was a flashlight. All of a sudden, my mind began to piece unrealistic things together: darkness + flashlight and scary eerie hallways = monsters and Silent Hill. But Silent Hill was just a game, and not real, I was sure of that. So why was this seemingly close to how the stories and games are of Silent Hill? Oh well, I’ll just figure it out as I go along, I supposed. I picked up the flashlight and aimed it ahead of me. I could finally see things a lot better, and that nothing would get past me now.

It was indeed a hallway, a narrow one that lead to a fork in the road, a passage way to the right and another to the left. I wasn’t exactly sure which one to take, but I had to take one of them. So, I turned to the right and began to walk that way. The halls looked really like normal halls this time around, just surrounded in darkness. Nothing else was really strange about it, except the fact there were no doors to lead into any rooms down this hallway. When I continued on I finally reached a dead end, and saw on the ground a wooden board, just like from before. I picked it up, examining it, and decided I was going to need this again.

I turned back around, and headed for the left side now. As I walked that way, I began to hear some strange noises. It sounded like there were birds inside, flying, flapping their wings a bit away. With each step I took, they became louder and louder, and then finally I reached the end of the left hall, as it had another turn to the right. I followed this, but now I was lead into a bigger area, about the size of a average classroom. Suddenly, the flapping sounds grew louder, and I heard screeches. I pointed my flashlight above me, looking in all directions, and finally saw what was causing all of the ruckus. The creature was a mixture of dark neon colors: purple, red, and then tangents of yellow here and there; it had a small, anorexic body with it’s rib cage showing through the skin; it’s arms were long and creepy, with big palms at the end and small sausage fingers; their wings were like how demons were, pieces missing in-between and a dark color; their face looked like a rabid mole rat, squished together with big, bulgy red eyes and long red hair and vicious little fangs. It reminded me of an Imp.

Then, the creature screeched even louder, and raised its right hand into the air, and a strike of lightning hit the flashlight out from my hand and made it roll far away from me. Damn it. I began to run to the side, and held the wooden board in both of my hands. I was going to need to hit this thing hard with every swipe and take it out fast, especially in nothing but darkness. I jumped upwards towards it, and tried to swipe it downwards, but my jump was very great and managed to miss perfectly. Then, the Imp raised both it’s hands up, and a large fire ball appeared above it, creating a huge light that stuck out. I could see the area slightly clearer, and saw that there was a big box nearby. I hopped onto it and then jumped at the Imp, and sliced at it harshly, canceling it’s spell and knocking it downwards slightly. Quickly, as I was falling, I slashed at it again, causing it to hit the ground and stun it for a few seconds. I landed on my feet swiftly, and then raced towards the fallen Imp. Then, I raised my wooden board and was about to attack, when it launched a dark aura ball at me, knocking me on the ground. As my back collided into the ground, I heard a small “pop” sound - which couldn’t have been good. Then, the Imp rose above me, flying flawlessly, and was about to cast another thunder spell on me, but I quickly rolled out of the way as it hit were I lied. I rose back up, and then the Imp shot a small flaming ball at me, and knocked the air out of me, and I fell back down on my ass. The ball managed to scorch part of right shoulder, and I was beginning to feel like I was going to die. How the hell was I supposed to fight a flying magical Imp with just a wooden board? That’s like fighting a gigantic, muscular shadow creature with crazy snake like hair with a wooden sword! Suddenly, a light began to surround my wooden board, and then the whole room, and then I couldn’t see for a few seconds.

When I gained back my sight, the room was light nicely, and in my right hand was a strange weapon. It looked like a small sword, with a regular straight handle, but the blade was triangular and had small little teeth (like from a chainsaw) sticking out of it. When I looked back up, Is aw the Imp preparing to attack me once again, but I suddenly felt light and confident, and jumped high into the air and swung the blade in a circle around myself, smashing into the Imp. It collided into it’s right wing, and as it did, the teeth of the blade began to move around like a chainsaws, and cut the wing so the Imp was having trouble flying. I fell on my knees, and looked back up at the Imp as it’s blood ran down the wings and dripped onto the floor. Rising back up, I began to rapidly smash at the Imp, taking out it’s other wing and one of it’s arms, and it fell on the ground, about to be defeated. Then, I raised my blade and cut down straight into the Imp, causing it to turn into black dust.

I killed it. I managed to kill the Imp by myself. A magical, flying devilish Imp. This was both surprising and great. But when I looked back down at my blade, I realized that this wasn’t the end. I had received a small, chainsaw-like blade to defend myself against a monster - and because of that, I knew there would be more monsters, more things coming after me. Why would I receive such a dangerous weapon if I wasn’t going to be targeted? Great, I thought. I guess this means this is only the beginning.

I walked cautiously back to the elevator, as all of the halls were light nicely now, and opened the doors of the elevator. Rick was there, and it looked like his wounds had completely healed out of nowhere.

“What happened?” He asked. I told him everything, and when he looked at my right shoulder, he looked confused. I looked at it with him, and noticed that part of the shirt was burned off, but I was perfectly fine, with just a small burn Mark inhabiting it, and it was even beginning to disappear.

“What do you think happens now?” He said afterwards.

“ I dunno. But I have a feeling that this may have only been the beginning for me.”

“Well, from now on then,” Rick said, beginning to rise up from the ground as I entered the elevator with him, “we’ll do it together.” And then, he put his right hand on my left shoulder and squeezed it friendly, and I felt happy.

“Yeah.” I said, as the doors of the elevator closed and we rose back up to the second floor. “I wonder what they’ll say when we return to class like this.”

Finally, here's Chapter Four. I hope y'all like it. I felt like it's not as good as the others though. Anyway, enjoy.

------

Chapter Four - Ice Cream & A Slayer

I told Rick to go on ahead first to class, that way it wasn’t obvious that we had both been together and make the Ms. Mac think we had been skipping, or Rick had. After a few minutes passed I assumed Rick got there, I walked to the class. When I walked in, everyone looked over at me, and some began whispering. I just remembered that my shirt was torn on my right shoulder and that it (and myself) may have gotten dirty during that fight. I walked over to my original seat (next to Rick) and took a seat. He looked at me and by the expression he had, I guessed they did the same to him as they did with me.

Fifth period seemed to come way too fast. I mean, Mr. Spradley (the teacher) was cool and all, but there were some of those annoying jerk wads in the class. And not to mention this was Social Studies, the subject I had the worst trouble in. When I took my seat and everyone was in, some student aide walked in with Dory, and she spoke with Mr. Spradley, and then left. He then told Dory to sit wherever she wanted, and I realized that she was now in this class. She took a spot right in front of me and smiled. It made me happy I finally had somebody to talk to in this class now. Before, me and Rick used to sit together, but every 3 weeks or so Mr. Spradley would change up the seating chart, and this time around I had nobody I knew until now.

“Since when did you have this class?” I asked her, trying to develop some sort of conversation between us.

“Just today. And now, of all times!” She said, and looked a little distressed.

“Hey, what’s that supposed to mean?!” I asked her, confused about what she meant.

Class went on, and me and Dory pretty much talked the whole time about random stuff, and it was sort of nice. I hadn’t ever actually spoken to Dory for this long and I actually got to know her a lot more than I already did. We both loved anime (like Inuyasha), she hated the majority of the people here in this school, etc. She was like a girl version of me! Okay, well, probably not, but still.

Finally the period was about to end, and then she asked me something I thought she never would:
“So, who do you like?”

Wait - what just happened? I tried to think about it for a moment, but was there anyone I even liked? No, not anyone I could think of right now. Yet, I felt like I was lying to myself to say I didn’t like anyone, because I had this feeling I did like someone - but who?

“I don’t like anyone.”

“What?! No way!”

“I’m serious.”

“Come on, you can tell me. I promise I won’t tell anyone.”

“I’m telling you the truth.” Liar.

“Wow. I can’t believe you don’t like anyone.”

“Well, what about you?”

“Me? …Well, you have to promise you won’t tell anyone. And I mean anyone, especially not Rick.”
“Okay, I promise.”

“Well, it’s Rick.”

“What?!” I couldn’t believe it.

“Shhh!”

“Why do you like him?”

“I dunno, I guess-. Wait, what’s your deal? It’s not like you like him too, right?”

“No!” All of a sudden, I was thrown of by Dory’s comment. It was beginning to trouble me, and I wasn’t even sure why. Of course I didn’t like Rick, he was - scratch that, is my best friend. And besides, he’s a guy, just like me.

The bell rang, and I quickly walked out of the classroom. I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue this conversation with Dory.

Finally, the day was over. I had began walking home alone, until Rick showed up. I guess he noticed that all day I had been avoiding him or leaving conversations short. But why was I? After all, we were fine now even though we were pretty much being hunted down by Silent Hill rip-offs. So what could be causing it? Was I still hung up on what Dory said? Why should I even care about it? So she likes Rick, whoop-dee-doo. It’s not like I do. Or like I feel threatened. Let her like Rick, who cares. I know I don’t.

“RC!”

Do I?

“Hey, what’s up with you man? You’ve been avoiding me all day! Was it because-”

“No. It’s just… I’m not feeling all that great, I guess.”

“Oh…”

We walked home together, sort of in silence, when Rick said he wanted to take me somewhere really quick. He toke me to the bus bench, and had me wait there while he ran inside to the corner store. I wasn’t actually sure why, but I guess I should just wait here. He came back out with two ice creams, and gave me one. It was like bits of Oreo’s on top with vanilla in the middle. I began eating it, and it tasted delicious.

“So why’d you get me this?”

“I needed to pay you back.”

“For what?”

“You know, earlier…”

“You know you didn’t have to. I just did what I had to do.”

“Okay, but next time your buying.” He smiled at me, and I laughed.

“With what money?”

“You could earn it on the corner.”

“Yeah, sure.”

We continued to eat the ice cream on the bus bench, just talking and joking around like we usually did. And for once, everything that had been troubling left me my mind with him. I felt like I usually did with him, like there wasn’t a care in the world - the way you should always feel with your best friend.

Today was a good day.

That night, I had a strange dream again. This time I wasn’t exactly sure what it meant though. It started in a graveyard, you know, like one of those eerie smoke filled kind you see in movies and shows. I was lying on the cold grass and rose up, looking around and examining the place. Grave stones inhabited majority of the plain, differing in height and style, each with names written on them that I’d never seen before. I found it strange that of all places I was here, but I decided to explore it harmlessly and carelessly. After all, what pain could inflict me in real life from a dream?

As I walked further through the graveyard, I began to hear strange noises. They sounded like there was a struggle near by, so I began to hasten my pace and continued forward towards the sound. When I finally made it, it was a girl being attacked by strange things. What were they? They looked like ordinary people, except their faces were distorted terribly, with wrinkles that squished it together and wide mouths with obnoxiously long fangs. She wrestled with one of them, while the other jumped on her back and began to try and take control of the battle. I couldn’t stand by any longer, and being the idiot I was, I ran straight into battle and pulled the man straight off from the back of her. Then, he lunged at me but I punched him in the gut and threw him into the ground. The girl seemed to be taking control of the other man, beating and pulverizing him to a pulp, as if she hadn’t even truly needed my help. But then, the man from below me quickly rose up again and smacked me onto the ground. I looked upward, lying on the ground, and saw his eyes were yellow with negativity, as if he had no conscious what-so-ever. I finally realized what he was, I’d seen it before on this show - he was a Vampire. All of a sudden, something clicked in me, and I began to act without even realizing it. I flung my right arm towards his face, casting off some powdery ice to collide there and throwing him backwards. Quickly, I rose back up and my right hand gripped the air, and that blade appeared from before once again.

The Vampire rose back up, his left side of his face covered in what looked like little icicles, and lunged at me once more. I quickly swiped my blade upwards, cutting him from the waist to his right shoulder, sporting blood from the wounds. Then, I flung my left arm out, casting out another ice attack at him, hitting him straight in his left arm, making him unable to use it as it completely froze up. Then, he began to try and grab me, and I raised my blade up and slashed the frozen arm off as he screeched terribly, and kicked him away from me. Then, I looked at the hilt of my blade, noticing a small wooden stake was attached to its end, and decided to use it to finish off this vampire. I jumped on top of him and turned my blade backwards to where the stake faced him and plunged it into the middle area of his chest, hitting the heart. Immediately, he turned into dust and disappeared. Mt sudden rush of energy was now gone, and I felt exhausted. I rose back up and saw that the girl had managed to slay her opponent as well, as he faded into dust and disappeared.

“Who the hell are you?” She asked. She looked about sixteen or seventeen, with long blonde hair tied back in a pony tail; a black sweater; tight black skinny jeans; and oceanic eyes that could draw a person in. I almost felt as if I were in the presence of Buffy from Buffy The Vampire Slayer. She seemed surprised that a mere eleven year old boy had taken on a Vampire so easy (which I couldn’t blame her, I was still surprised about this myself).

“I’m…” What was I supposed to tell her?

“You took on that Vampire like nothing. You can’t be another Slayer, can you?” Slayer? Wait, what-!? What the hell was she talking about? “I could have sworn that Slayers were only girls. Not to mention I thought they limited one to a city.”

“I’m not a Slayer! What are you talking about?!”

She eyed me suspiciously, as if I was some strange creature.

“You can’t be a demon?”

“I’m not a demon! I’m not anything, I’m just a kid!”

Then, she looked at my blade which I still held in my hand, and I looked down at it too. It was back in it’s original form, no stake attached at its hilt, just normal.

“That weapon you have, what is it?”

I was beginning to get sick of all these questions. I wanted to know what the hell she was talking about. Slayers, vampires, demons, what the hell?!

“Who are you?!”

“I’m the Slayer.”

“What… what the hell is a Slayer?!”

Then, the girl began to fade away fro me, as did the environment, and I began falling, falling, straight down into nothingness.

So I finally got this chapter done. I'm probably gonna go through all the chapters I have already, edit them a lot more, and then edit my posts/repost them in here that way my writing doesn't seem totally suck-ish. Anyway, hope who ever is reading these enjoys them. And also critiques people, seriously, they're welcome. I would actually like to hear what i could improve on because I know there are things I could improve on.

Chapter Five - Things That You See (In A Graveyard)

After I finally woke up, the day went by like nothing, as if it had been merely a few seconds, and then here I was again with Rick on the benches, eating ice cream. I remembered her, the girl from in my dreams - the “Slayer”. There was some many things I wanted to ask here, like why there were Vampires, who she was, why I was there - everything. It was way too realistic to be a dream, especially since before I fell into sleep, I was in sleeping in just a t-shirt and underwear, but when I woke up I had the clothes I had worn earlier, and they looked like they had dirt strains on them. How was I connected to her? How was any of that connected to me? This was becoming all too confusing - first I get Silent Hill rip-offs and now the plot of Buffy gets thrown in as well?

“It’s melting.”

“Huh?” I looked over at Rick as he stared directly at my Popsicle. It was dripping on the ground, leaving small little vanilla blotches on the side walk. “Oh, yeah.” I stuck it in my mouth and resumed eating it. Rick hadn’t seemed to notice me dazing out at all today. In fact, it seemed like he was the one dazing out instead of me. He couldn’t have had a dream like mine, too, right? No, if he had, he would have mentioned it to me. But then again, I had been keeping my dream a secret this whole time, too, so could that mean he was as well?

“Hey R-”

And almost on cue, his cell phone began to ring. I seriously hated that thing. Every time me and Rick were about to have one of these discussions, it rang and he almost always had to go. He answered, and then talked to his mom (from the sounds of it), and hung up and gave me that awkward smile that meant “sorry.” I figured it out and then we both got up and he began walking home one way while I did the other. Cell phones are evil.

When I arrived back home, my parents were just preparing to go to Church’s to get us dinner, and so I stayed behind in the house, alone. My parents were getting food, my sister was probably at an after school thing, and I was here being a couch potato watching TV. As I flipped through the channels, though, a news report caught my eye. I turned up the volume, as a reporter was in a familiar graveyard talking about how some graves had yet again been robbed of the bodies and left with empty, barren holes. It was the graveyard from in my dreams, it was real. This had to be a sign, a sign I had to go back and find out who the girl was, about why all this is happening to me. I listened intently to the reporter, and as he wrapped up the discussion he revealed the name: San Antonio National Cemetery. I wrote it down on a scratch sheet of paper, and then put it in my pocket. Immediately, my next move was to look up directions on the computer, and as soon as I got them I printed them out and kept those hidden. I had to go back, but not when I was asleep, I couldn’t risk leaving the dream and being separated from that girl again - I had to go personally, in my own body, and try to find out myself from her.

* * * * *

I lied in my bed, my eyes wide open, waiting for my parents to finally fall to sleep. The time was 11: 34, and I was growing more and more impatient. If they didn’t hurry, I may end up missing the girl and then have to wait another day.

Finally, I heard them talking and saw their bedroom light flick on, which meant they were preparing for bed. They turned off the AC, locked all the doors, and then finally closed there door and went to sleep. I waited at least twenty more minutes, and heard nothing from them. Unwilling to wait anymore, my body sprang up, and I slowly and quietly edged my way to my window. I grabbed the curtain, pulled it sideways and pulled the string of the shades so that they came up. Then, I unlatched the window so that it could open, carefully move the screen in front of it that blocked bugs from coming in out of the way, and got outside. Once I did, I reversed the process except I left the window slightly ajar. Quietly, I jumped the fence of the backyard, and began to make my way to the graveyard.

* * * * *

It actually didn’t take as long as I expected. In fact, the graveyard was still in this district of the town, so it was pretty close in a way. When I arrived, it wasn’t filled with fog, it was just normally dark. I walked around cautiously, my hands balled in fists in case something arrived I had to fight. There was no noise, no disturbance, nothing. Had I already missed her? Great, my only chance and now it was gone and I’d have to wait again, but there wasn’t enough time for waiting - I needed to find out what was going on with me and Rick before it was too late. I walked a bit further, and then something fell from a tree, dangling by a string and seemed to be tied up but upside down.

“Hey kid, help me!” What the hell?! Did somebody put him up there or something? I could tell it was a man by the voice and the shape, but I still couldn’t see him clearly enough either. This was a little strange.
“How did you get up there?” I asked, not feeling comfortable enough to help.
“It was one of the Vampires! They tied me up here so they could come and feed on me later, and took off with my little sister! Please, help me!”

I don think he’s lying. Maybe I should help him. I raised my right hand upward towards the rope that held his feet tied and suspended in air and somehow unleashed a small icicle from it and it cut the rope. He then fell softly and tore the rope of his feet. I still wasn’t sure how I was able to do that, but it’s like all I had to do was think about it and then BAM! there goes the ice. The guy began to bring himself back up and I could see his face more clearly. it was dirty, like he hadn’t taken a bath in a few weeks and was rotting in a coffin. And he smelled similar to that, as well. Wait, if they look like they’re dead and smell dead… oh shit.
“Thanks kid, but now I’m a little hungry for something.” His face quickly changed shape and I jumped back and my weapon showed up in my hands unexpectedly. He lunged at me, but I ducked and then slashed him across the stomach as he passed over me, and blood began to pour out of his body, and some sprayed onto me. He regained balance just as he was about to hit the ground, and stared at me stunned. “You damn bastard! You’re almost as bad as the Slayer!”

The next thing I knew, I was caught off-guard by this comment and he jumped on top of me, knocking me on the ground. I expected some life-flashes or something, but nothing happened, I was just lying there under the rotting corpse of a vampire. Suddenly, two hands grab the vampire’s shoulders. “I doubt that.” It was a familiar voice, a girl’s voice. And then I realized, it was her voice. She threw the vampire off of me and quickly staked it, and it turned to dust and floated away. She turned her attention to me and gave me her hand, and I took it and she helped me up. I dusted myself off and looked over her. It really was her again.
“Thanks.”

“What’re you doing here?”

“I wanted to see you again. I had to ask you something. There’s a lot I wanted to ask.”

“And so do I. I want to know, who are you?”

“Oh, my name! It’s RC. What‘s-?”

“I don’t understand…” She turned away and seemed troubled. I walked a little bit closer, but I didn’t want to get too close, just in case she was like my sister. One time my mom was planning on scaring my sister and when she did, my sister didn’t get scared, she got angry and punched my mom in the face by accident. I certainly didn’t want this “Slayer” to do that to me.

“Well, see my first name is Rick and my middle is Capone, like Al Capone. And thus, RC was created.”

“That’s not what I mean.” She said, and turned around to face me. “You don’t look or sound like a demon, and you don’t even look like you know what a Slayer is. And normal humans can’t just possess similar powers to a Slayer in strength. Or even be able to launch ice attacks out of themselves. It just makes no sense.”

“Then tell me, what am I? And why is all of this happening to me?!”

She looked at me, peaked with both curiosity and worry. “Why is all of what happening to you?”

* * * * *

I explained to her what exactly what I meant, and about the dreams and everything that happened to me at school. She looked confused, and by the end of it she looked like she was trying to process all of this.
“I’m sorry, but I don’t know anything.”

I sighed and looked down at the ground. Great, there’s goes my only chance.

“I should probably ask my watcher about it, though. She may know something about it.”

“Wait, you have a watcher?”

“Yeah, all Slayers do.”

“But I thought that was only in Buffy.”

“Well let’s just say that Buffy happens to hold quite a few facts. But anyway, I think it’s best I take you to meet her immediately.”

“Okay,” I said, and we began to walk away from the cemetery. “So… what is your name?”

“Oh, it’s Balera. I guess I just sort of forgot to introduce myself.”

“Nah, it’s fine.” I said, and wondered if “Balera” was English or another language. Maybe Latin or something.

We continued to walk down the cemetery, and when we finally arrived out of it we were by a funeral home and a church. “Kind of eerie, don’t you think?”

“Well, I do this every night so it’s not really that big of a deal.” She began walking forward and then the ground beneath us began to shake harshly. I fell on my knees through the shaking and felt Balera pick me up by the arm and try taking me elsewhere, but then she stopped. I looked up to see why she had stopped, and realized something was rising out of the ground. Black smoke poured out along with it, as it’s long arms stretched out from the gap, with it’s upper body following soon after, reaching about eleven or twelve feet in height. There were wings that were covering it’s face and body, but then they flung open and revealed a dark-skin muscular structure on the creature, and a demon-like man face with yellow beady eyes and a devilish grin.

I gripped the blade in my right hand tightly, and knew I was in for another fight.

Okay, I'm having a bit of Writer's Block with this story at the moment. I'm also having trouble on what I should have Chapter Six on, because I wanted to explore more of Rick's side of the story but then there's the fact that Chapter Five is kind of like a cliffhanger. I dunno, I'm thinking I may do Chapter Six from Rick's side and have him somehow get involved in Chapter Seven or something.

Anyway, I may not update date this unless I figure out what I'm going to do with the next chapter within the next few days. So the next chapter may not be for about a week to a few weeks away.
