I'm very sorry to inform you that right now it's looking like I won't be posting a new chapter tonight.
Water polo hell week has been kicking my ass for three days straight and I have morning practice tomorrow.
If there is no chapter tonight, I promise two chapters tomorrow. And you can hold me to that. ;P

Though I'm guessing that since it's in a pool you have to use your hands, not your feet.

Chris' heart seemed to stop instantly. Before him stood two people whose corpses he had seen with his own two eyes. They had come back from the dead. Just like Taurus. Leo stood once again. Isaac stepped in front of Chris. He reached back and ripped off his shirt. Chris noticed that his tattoos stretched across his back and onto both his biceps. The tattoos just seemed to be a crazy symmetrical pattern of spirals.

Chapter 28: The Nostalgia 2

Chris looked at Isaac's back. Were those always there?

"This my fight against you, Leo. Don't bring them into this." Isaac tensed up the muscles in his arms and back. The small perfect spirals in his tattoos began to spin. Then they began jumping from his back into the air becoming even more yo-yo's. Before Chris knew it, there were at least twenty yo-yo's in the air above Isaac. They all began to hit each other and stick to one another. A strange light started shining and filled the room.

When the blinding light faded away, Isaac stood holding a massive yo-yo. It was easily four feet across. Leo looked at it and smiled.

"Very well. If you think you can beat me. I think Chris can handle those two." He unsheathed his second, and last, katana. "I still think you ought to be smarter about picking your fights."

Chris turned to face Gemini and Scorpio. Then they exchanged glances. Only Gemini stepped forward. Isaac turned to Chris and whispered in his ear: "Don't let them get you thirsty."

Chris was confused by this statement from Isaac. Before he could ask what he meant, Isaac was running at Leo with his gigantic yo-yo. Gemini cleared his throat to get Chris' attention.

"Scorpio and I agree that this fight is just between you and me." Chris became worried, but then realized something about Gemini's power.

"And you're going to fight me with what exactly?" He seemed so confident in his remark at Gemini. Gemini simply bent down and picked up the object at his feet. Chris' smirk turned to worry. It was the hilt of Leo's katana which turned out to be a gun. Oh shit, he thought. Spoke too soon.

Leo landed next to a large pillar just as Isaac's yo-yo smashed into the wall causing a huge hole. When it was reeled back in, light poured into the room. They all squinted before getting used to the sudden change. Isaac launched his yo-yo once again. Leo jumped back to be out of reach. When it stopped, the end flipped out into a shotgun barrel and blasted Leo into the wall behind him. It folded back again and returned to Isaac.

Gemini looked at his arm. It looked just like before, only the number was much higher on the clip. Chris became worried. He thought he wouldn't be able to last that long in a fight if he had that much back-up ammo.

"I hope that you don't just hold up your shield the whole time like a little pussy." Gemini flipped in a clip of ammo and locked it into place.

"I hope you don't hide behind your gun like a little bitch." Chris clenched his right hand into a fist and gripped the gun in his left hand tighter. Still pointing it at the ground, he fired a bullet into the concrete. Gemini gave him a funny look. He fired another. Gemini raised his gun and fired just one bullet. Chris fired again and the bullet's collided.

Gemini jumped back at the accuracy he had. Chris used this opening to blast him in the face with a fist full of rock hard air. Gemini got knocked on his back. Chris didn't fire.

"Get up." Gemini looked at him cautiously. "I said get the fuck up and fight me like a man."

"What happened to you?" Gemini finally got to his feet.

"I got stronger. You really that stupid?" Chris pointed the gun at the wall to his left. He fired another two bullets. Gemini raised his arm. He fired five in quick succession. The first two were knocked away by Chris' next two shots. Then a small shield of air popped up and blocked the other three.

Chris flipped his shield and pushed it fast outward causing Gemini's bullet's to fly back at him full speed. He was forced to dodge roll out of the way. Gemini caught Chris off guard and fired an entire clip as soon as he finished rolling.

To counter once again, Chris threw up a full body shield. While it was up, he went running at Gemini. In full sprint, he threw his gun aside knowing it was out of bullets. Gemini freaked when his clip ran out. Chris knocked him to the floor with an uppercut blast of air. He pinned him and began barraging his face with blast after blast.

Gemini passed out with his face covered in blood. Chris turned to see how Isaac was doing with Leo.

Leo dodged the yo-yo yet again. Isaac reeled it in and held up in front of himself. Leo flash stepped again. Sparks came off the side of the yo-yo from Isaac blocking the slash. He threw it against Leo's back smashing him into the ground. Just when he was about to fire the shotgun through Leo's head, he felt a sharp pain in his left shoulder.

"I don't think so!!" Scorpio yanked Isaac around with one of his strap hooks. What came next went too fast for Isaac or Chris to comprehend.

Isaac was spun a full 180 degrees to face Scorpio. Just as Scorpio came into view, Isaac felt a sharp kick to his chin causing him to look up. As it passed by, Scorpio smiled.

"Goodbye, traitor." As the barrel for the gun attached to his shoe passed under Isaac's chin, he sent a bullet flying upwards exploding through the top of his head.

Chris lost all breath in his lungs. After a few seconds of just sitting and staring at Isaac's dead body he finally gathered enough breath to speak.

"no...no...No...NOOOOOO!!!"

Chris ran to Isaac. He lifted his torso, and looked at his face. The blood poured slowly from his neck and head. Leo and Scorpio stood side by side looking down on this obviously somber scene.

Chapter 29: The Declaration

Tears welled up in Chris' eyes. He fought as hard as he could to hold them back. Despite his best efforts, small rivers began to form down his cheeks. The drops fell from his chin and landed on Isaac's bare chest. Chris gently laid his body back down and closed his eyes. Leo sat down on his throne for what seemed like the millionth time. Scorpio took his place at Leo's right hand.

"I'm sorry you had to see that, Chris." The sincerity in Leo's voice was not fabricated. It was obvious he felt sorry for Chris and this outcome. "I wish that there was another way. His intentions were impure so he had to be exterminated." Chris closed his right hand and clenched it hard. His fingernails, despite their short length, dug into his palm causing his hand to bleed.

"Just shut up." He rose to his feet. "How dare you kill the one person I looked to like father figure and then apologize for making me watch. I'll kill you for this."

Scorpio put his hands in his pockets letting his messy black hair fall over his eyes. Leo rubbed his eyes in slight frustration.

"May I tell you the other half of my story?" Chris opened his eyes again. They were bloodshot from the crying. Staring into Leo's eyes, he not only felt the sympathy, but saw it as well. It was indeed genuine feelings that Leo had toward him. Chris nodded. "Very well."

Leo rose from his throne and began pacing back and forth very slowly.

"You know that I am the leader of the Zodiac. There is something special about that position." Leo stopped and looked from Scorpio to the unconscious Gemini still breathing and bloodied on the floor. "It is a position that you may never, ever leave." Chris was suddenly confused.

"You said that Isaac used to be the leader. How did he leave?" Leo shook his head in response.

"He didn't leave..." He looked once again to Scorpio. Scorpio nodded in agreement. "Isaac was forcibly removed from his position as Leo. The reason is something that I didn't want to tell you. I had hoped that Isaac would tell you himself. I think I'll give Scorpio the privilege of answering any questions you have, seeing as how he has been in the Zodiac longer than me." Scorpio stepped forward and took his hands from his pockets again.

"Look, Chris. Isaac wasn't everything you thought he was." Chris was shocked by this statement. He was about to counter Scorpio, but he cut him off. "No, no. Please. Let me finish."

Chris backed off.

"Isaac became Leo long before I took my post as Scorpio. When he took his position, he really tried to do what we were created to do: Eliminate terrorist organizations worldwide. But something happened to him during one of the missions." Scorpio stood facing Chris directly. "He started wondering why we really existed. Then the government ended Project Zodiac...for good."

Leo looked down at Isaac and examined his right eye more closely. He cut the threads apart and pulled the eye open. The pupil wasn't eve there. His eye was all bright blue in the center. The rest was white just like normal eye. Scorpio continued.

"He wanted to get them back. Thats when he made his plan to destroy all governments in the world and have the Zodiac rule all of Earth." Chris gasped and tried to retort but was unsuccessful. "I know. That's what I thought. So he was forced to leave. Then the Guild formed of people who followed in his footsteps and left. He tried to take his revenge." Scorpio's eyes fell on the dead body.

"Look where it got him." Leo stood again and turned to Scorpio. Just as he tried to say something...

"Bullshit." Chris' fists were shaking violently. "It's all complete bullshit!! You assholes are just trying to put images in my head. Taking advantage of the fact that I don't remember any of it."

They looked at each other confused. The Chris remembered something. Isaac's last words. ...thirsty. His gift.

Chris yanked the small vial from his pocket and ripped the cork out. He took one look at it and took a deep breath. Leo and Scorpio looked at each other worried. Chris swallowed the glowing liquid all in one gulp.

For a second, nothing happened. Then Chris closed his eyes. He grabbed his sides in obvious pain. When he opened them again, his eyes were glowing two different colors. Chris began to float off of the ground. When he spoke, a different voice emanated from his throat.

"It's time for your judgment." Leo turned to Scorpio.

"Get him before he kills one of us!!!" In an instant, Scorpio plunged his straps into the ground. Just as the scales began to appear in front of Chris, the straps shot upward from below him and wrapped around his arms and legs. They smashed him to the ground and held him on his knees. They pulled his arms apart to leave his chest open.

"LEO!!!" Gemini ran over and stood directly facing Chris. "Leo, give your sword. Trust me." Leo tossed Gemini his only remaining katana. Gemini began slowly plunging it deeper and deeper into his right arm.

Black and silver metal began emerging from beneath his skin. Within seconds it was complete. His elbow and forearm looked like a revolver ammo holder and loaded into the barrel was a 4 1/2 foot blade.

"I'm sorry... Libra. This is how it has to be." A loud resounding click echoed as the blade launched from the barrel. It shot across the room and plunged itself deep into Chris' heart. It came out another two feet behind him. Scorpio let his straps relax and fall back as soon as Chris' eyes returned to normal. Gemini walked over to him.

Chris stared at the blade piercing his chest. He couldn't believe he was going to die like this. He couldn't believe he was going to die at all. They had failed. Gemini was standing in front of him.

"I'm going to show you what you showed me...no mercy." Gemini lifted his foot and placed it against Chris' face. With a swift motion to the right, he snapped his neck and killed him.

The three Zodiac members looked at each other. They all took a few seconds to let it all sink in, then all breathed sighs of relief. A quiet beeping noise went off. Gemini looked down and saw Chris' electronic watch blinking at just above thirty seconds.

"Scorpio, how far away can you get us?" Gemini ran back and stood next to Leo.

"I'll use everything I have left. You know this is the last time I'll ever be able to do this right? I've run out of this power. Abused it for too long."

"As long as were not in the blast."

Scorpio sent his straps and wrapped the three of them together. The wind around them seemed to thin out and then exploded with the force of a shotgun as Scorpio teleported them out of the Tower.

Epilogue: The Apathy

The chain link fence sat in the middle of the desert. Dust began to flow towards a certain spot and then shot outward. In an instant, Scorpio, Gemini, and Leo were standing outside the fence on the edge of Area 51.

They all looked off into the sunset.

"You know," Gemini smiled. "I thought he had us for a second."

Off in the distance far beyond the fence, they saw the Tower explode as the bomb they had set detonated. Scorpio and Gemini laughed. The explosion took the corpses of the dead Zodiac and Guild members with it, burning all the evidence of the incident. Out here, no one would know.

"Fantastic." Scorpio clapped a hand on Gemini's back.

"Don't get too comfortable, guys. We've got work to do. After all..." Leo walked forward to face the sunset.

"...eliminating the Zodiac was only Phase 1 of our plan."

Well, that's not how I pictured the ending. I am... confused and speechless. You are a master of surprises.

It all matters to the sequel I am hoping to write.
But before that I'm going to re-work and re-post my other story Solstice.

Okay. So that answers my question as to whether or not Soldtice is the sequel to this, so just ignore my question on the other thread.

I hope you come out for the sequel to this soon, because I really want to know what the ominous "Phase 2" of this plan will be, and who's going to be the main protaganist now that Chris and the Guild are dead. (Unless I skipped over a surviving Guild member. 0_o)

No. No surviving guild members.
Basically, the end of Brittle Bullet revealed the three last Zodiac members to be the good guys in everything.
Chris was unknowingly working for the bad guy in the situation.
The sequel, (can't think of a title yet), follows Leo, Gemini, and Scorpio.
That's all I'll say.

But... I liked the Guild. The Zodiac being good guys feels weird. :( It seemed like the good guys lost and the bad guys are free to do what they want, but that's how you go and make smoke come out of my brain again. Now I really hope you post the sequel soon.

It's still under wraps. Even from my friend who is helping me make this into an anime.
I've got a lot on my plate right now. Starting my senior year of high school on wednesday, water polo, re-doing Solstice, etc.
Plus on top of all that, I've got to worry about getting my driver's license.
So at this point, I have absolutely no idea when the sequel will be up. I promise that when it is, you will be the first to know.

And I know how you feel. Starting school has been really stressful. Also, since when is water polo a popular sport/ why have I been under a rock about that? Anyway, I hope that things work out, and you get your license, and you do well in water polo. =3

I have a bit of mildly interesting news.
I have come up with a working title for the sequel to Brittle Bullet.
Although it's a title, it may change by the time I actually write some chapters. Just temporary.
