It's here! It's here! YAAAAAAAAAAY!! YAAAAAAAAY!!! *Crowd cheers in Background*

Yes, it's true! The Beta Reader thread is back., and hopefully better than ever. For those of you not in the know, the BR's are a group that are asked by a writer to proof read, but while they may point out spelling errors, they are mainly supposed to find the general weirdness that is in your writing style, point them out to you, and if possible, offer advice to help you grow and develop your style.

For lack of ability to think of a leeway into the rest of the topic, let's get too it!


Writers/Authors:

1.Unlike the last thread, all pieces requested to be BR'd will be confidential, meaning that you will be submitting it for scrutinizing prior to posting.

2.You can either ask by posting in this thread, or you can select a Maximum of three BR's to proof read your piece and ask them via PM. With their permission, you can send it to them via PM or email.

3.Please allow them a minimum of five days to read and get back to you before making contact again.

4. This a thread based on the ideal to help you improve your skill, not your personal proof reader service. Please don't request multiple times in a short a period. I'll be counting on you, the requester, to be truthful. But if I find that you have been submitting requests in a short amount of time, I will begin keeping a record!

Edit: And maybe as a trial type thing, BR's can list who they're reviewing in the Social group so some discussion can develope and more can be done for the writer.


Beta Readers:

1. Beta Reader Social group: KHInsider.com Forums - The Beta Reader Team!

2. Don't be affraid to ask for help from other BR's. Talking and sharing might help bring up a problem that the Writer might have had that you missed.

3. Don't play the the nice guy. We're here to point out flaws in people's work, and lead them to the path on correcting it

4. For people who feel that they are no longer capable to be BRs or do not wish to be, they may elect one person of their choosing to take their place, whom I will contact and invite. Be warned that quiting as a BR means that you for fit your membership to the BR group.

I am still waiting on a few people, but here is more or less the final team.

It seems ASG might not have been clear enough... Our beta-reading isn't the same as it was; we're not here to REview already posted stories anymore, we are here to beta-read your stories, so before you post anything up.

Thus, if you want us to help you with your development, please, say whom you want to beta-read your story/chapter/whatever and, if approved, PM that Beta-Reader your unposted story/chapter/whatever.

Our beta-reading as of now is more focused on the actual development of the writer him/herself, and not to simply search out grammatical errors in a story, as we tended to do before.

So...let me just finish by saying that we really want to help out all of you, so please do ask for our help whenever you're troubled! =D

To answer your question... there was a nomination thread for the beta-readers a while back, if you were nominated to become a beta-reader ASG send a PM to you to ask if you want in... I do not recall you being on the nominated list, but I'll go check. =P

EDIT 2: Yeah, you were on the nominated list! ^^ I suggest you check your PM box!

I think it only applies to unposted stories. And even if it doesn't, you should PM the BR you want and ask for approval.

Yep, you're in. Like I said, I'm still waiting on a few others. And much thanks to TR for the Epic sticky! She helped me a lot with this project. Be sure to give her rep for helping to make it happen!

And Cicero has it right. It's all about developement. Helping writers develope.
