One possible explanation is Xemnas was aware of Marluxia's traitorous nature, and wanted to prove it, while Luxord is loyal to his cause.

could be because if you notice marluxias chair is higher up than luxords

true, but i think they should just leave it as it is. the castle is flower themed and marluxia controls flowers.

Luxord has a pirate look and sense and the majority of kh2 he was in port royal.

im pretty sure Xemnas was aware of marluxia and larxenes plan and that was the reason he sent them. Also i think it fit the way they had it, mar-mar in Com and Luxord in Kh2. to add to that i liked luxord better in kh2 than in days, he seemed more smart and deceptive

I'm pretty sure Marluxia was sent to Castle Oblivion in suspicion of betrayal...Luxord looks pretty loyal to me o.o
