Pokemon: The New Frontier

The wind rushed by in a flurry of smells and temperatures. The smell of the sea, the feel of the cool sea air. Ahead there was a small island that could just barely be seen over the horizon. Eric stood looking over the rail of the ship at the blue water as it rushed by. Eric was on the large ship heading for the Kanto region, where he and a large group of trainers would the board a large luxury airliner that would take them to the new region. He stood alone watching as the Kanto region drew closer and closer. There where other trainers on the ship, but most where below deck enjoying food and conversing about what the new region would bring to their pokemon teams. Eric wasn’t interested in improving his pokemon teams, more than not he was into exploring the new region and having as much rest and relaxation as he could. Eric turned to go back to his cabin when he heard a strange noise. He turned back around and looked back into the water. Just below the ship a strange shadow was traveling just as fast as the ship was. Eric looked up to see if it was a pokemon in the sky but nothing but clouds where there. He looked back down and noticed two more shadows. One small, another larger than the first. Eric watched as all three moved with the ship then, each began to fall back. A shadow moved across the ship deck. Eric looked up and saw a pokemon that looked like a large snake slithering across the sky. Another sound hit his ears and he looked back out over the water. Out over the water a bunch of shapes appeared, three large bird type shapes, four humanoid like and although he could barely see on land there was a larger group of pokemon. A few where as large as buildings while others where as small as his pack. He watched in amazement as all these shapes and pokemon made there way towards the place he was making his way towards. Then a rainbow appeared over the sky and just barely through a cloud a large bird like shape appeared flying over the rainbow. As close as he could see a rift appeared close to the land and four colossal shapes stepped out. Eric looked over his shoulder in surprise, “We will now be entering Fuchsia Harbor.” said a voice over the intercom. He looked back out over the water to find all of the shapes he was looking at had disappeared. He looked up and saw nothing but a rainbow. He grabbed his bag next to him and made his way to his cabin. Eric thought to himself, that he must be the luckiest person alive to have been able to see all the legendary pokemon in one place at one time. In a few minutes he would be on the plane to the new region.

Ray was riding his bike en route to fushia city, he always prefered to ride his bike then take a bus or train to his destination. Unless it was the only way to get there. He took a deep breath and smelled the fresh air of the ocean to his right. "It's a good day to start a new adventure." He said as he looked at the sky. When he arrived in the building he locked up his bike and saw that some of the other trainers had arrived already. He opened up his Bag and took out the two capsules that held his eggs... The two of them he had recieved in his home region of sinnoh and Hoenn. The One he got from hoenn was red and had a sort of fire design on it So Ray figured it would be a fire type, the one he recieved from sinnoh had a blue and black color... The two of them were shaking but only slightly.

Renton backpack gently swayed side to side as he walked up the mountain side. "Why can't your girlfriend pick us up here?" He said to his older brother Dominic.
"Hey she is NOT my gir-, besides you need the strength. Come on move, move it!" Dominic encouraged his lazy brother.
They walked and walked for about four miles, Renton was panting like never before. While his bro did not even brake one sweat. "Wait, is that her?" They both said in unison.
A Rangerover drove up the mountain side, colliding with almost everything. Even though they could see the car it still took a few minutes until the women actually got to their location. "Wazzup Dominic?" She said, her name was Acotstica.
"Huh pleasure to huhh," Renton fumbled with a few words.
"Ahh no need," Dominic said.
"Why not?" Acotstica said, ready to burst with rage.
"You guys met before right?"
"No, not that I-" They both talked in unison...
"Well time to go...k-i-do," She said in 'harmony.' Renton slowly jumped into the vehicle and drove off without saying goodbye.
"How long will this trip take?" Asked Renton.
"Ohh not that long, we just need to drive five miles to the mountain side then take a plane to that new place."
"An airport on a mountain side?"
"Well its not an airport..."
"What?"
"Trust me, you will like this plane. It is...Cozy!"

The soothing sound of the waves filled the air. The motion of the water was calm and gentle,gentle enough for the Wingulls to skate on the surface of the water. Rolf stood on the deck, leaning over the railing carefully, looking out at the sight. Sea water sprayed everywhere.some even got into his eye's,but he just rubbed them off and stayed there.

His new companion, Mist, was at her master's side. She hung on to the lowest railing, tring not to fall. Once the ship took a rather steep bump, she cried out in terror and hung onto the railing for dear life. Rolf chuckled and picked her up, "There's nothing to worry about silly," He told her in a gentle voice. "I have you now... So you can look out at the water without fear.." Mist whimpered in her master's arms, but when she saw his gentle smile and eyes, she relaxed and looked back out.

There was a slight breeze now rolling in. Rolfs green hair swayed a bit, as did Mist's light brown fur. Soon they heard a few footsteps coming from behind them and then voices, "Hey I hear the new region is crawling with thieves!" one said.

"Haha that's just a rumor! They said in the broucher that this new region is totally safe!" The other was obviously reasuring and started to chuckle a bit.

Rolf shuddered in fear and closed his eyes, "Thieves?" he whined, "I sure hope we dont run into those..."

"Eev.." said Mist, rubbing her head up against her master.
Rolf smiled and laughed softly, "Yea..you're right... I shouldn't be afriad of anything... I have you to protect me..." He sighed a sigh of relief and peered at the horizon. There he could see land coming closer at a speedy rate.

"We'll be coming to Fushia City Harbor soon!" Blaired the loudspeaker. His voice was deep and loud. "All trainers please return to your Cabins now and keep your pokemon off the decks as well. I shall call for you once we've made a sucessful dock."

"Looks like it's time Mist...C'mon" He ran towards the stairs that would take him below deck and into the cabin areas. Soon after, he was in his cabin, and placed Mist on the bed. "Stay there Girl. I'll be packing up my things since this was a three day voyage from Lilycove City Port." His Eevee squaked in agreement and watched her master pack up his belongings.

"Great this pokedoll will be perfect for my secret base!" Josh was walking out of Lilycove's Department Store holding a Clefairy doll. Waiting for him outside was a greatly brushed Eevee wearing a scarlet scarf like a coller.

"Ready for a snack?" he said as he took out a Sitrus Berry. He feed it to Eevee and with a smile softly patted her head. A sudden wind came and his vest started moving to the blow. "Hmmmmm what do you think about going to see if Andrew is in the Safari Zone?" Eevee gave a quick bark of acceptance and ran in front to lead him to their destination. "Wait up speedy you can go in without me."

After an hour Josh came out of the Safari Zone puzzled. "I know he told me he'd be in here today so where did he go!?" Out from the ground popped out a large orage-brown head. "Trap-traaaaaaaaa" His trapinch came out of the ground as if in a daze. "Hey do you know where andrew went off to?" Trapinch simply shook its head. "Well come on lets check the Pokecenter. Besides I owe Jess a call" Josh said.

The Pokemon Center was always busy either with patients or trainers. For Josh it was both a resting spot and a challenge seeker. "Hey babe how have things been?" he said through the telephone. The appearance of a young brunette with a bright smile came on the screen. "Hey Josh. I was just with..." A large figure came to the screen with a wide mouth. "Dusk dussss" cried her Dusknoir with a grin. "Oh i see so he's been a little wild?" "Well you could say that. I got your text. I got a hold of him he said he went to the Harbor for something but i couldn't remember. Call me as soon as you're coming back!" He couldn't help but giggle though he felt the same as she did. He missed his girlfriend. "Don't worry I always do. I gotta go...bye."

Andrew was coming out of the harbor when Eevee rammed into his chest. "Hey that's my job frisky....come on take a rest." He pulled out the Luxuryball Andrew's dad had given him for his first pokemon capture. This was back ofcourse when they both practiced using his dad's Furret. "Sorry I wanted to see his their was a schedule for the next boat to Sinnoh. Not that it matters we haven't finished it's just I'm impatiant." Josh patted his shoulder, "Don't worry we'll get back soon." "Your right Josh.......see you at the base!"

Josh waved and then turned around and walked towards the harbor. Trapinch stayed crawling in front of him. "Now let's see if anything new is going on with the ship's out of Hoenn."

"Okay, I'll see you when I get back mom." Ray said to his mother over the webcam.

"Good luck honey, knock em dead." She said before logging off.

Ray gathered the rest of his belongings before, including his keys and left the two story home and locked the door behind him. "Alright, off to the lab." He took a deep breathe and traveled down the town to the laboratory run by Professor Brown. He'd been there before when he was young. His parents often made him visit so he could play with the pokemon, Ray also had a child crush on Professor Brown when he was a kid.

Ray opened the double doors and entered the giant lab. Lab aids were running all over the place. Ray made his way to the back of the lab where the woman was hiding. She stood tall and had long brown hair. "Ray Miyamoto, my have you grown." She said, "Where have you been."

"I've been out to Johto with grandpa, we went to the Mt. Silver for an entire year then he set out for the Sevii islands to do some research or something. He should be back in a few months." He explained, "Oh yeah, I came here to get my pokemon."

She nodded and escorted him over to the table where three pokeballs sat She opened them to reveal the pokemon inside. "Okay Ray, in each of these balls is a rare pokemon. You can choose, the water type pokemon, Driplik. The fire type, Smokub. Or you can choose the grass type, Sasamite. Which will be your choice?"

Ray thought about his choices carefully. He looked at each of them and the bear looking pokemon gave him a smile. Ray smirked and nodded. "Come on, you're my partner." Ray said, "I choose you, Smokub."

"All trainers have an hour before the plane to the new region leaves." said the intercom. Eric was walking down steps that had been pushed against the boat to let passengers off. Just a few feet ahead of him a group of trainers where talking about how there was a pokemon that looked like a scarecrow and how they wouldnt want that pokemon. Eric thought to himself that if no one wanted that pokemon that he would catch it just to be different. Although Eric didnt have his pokemon with him he still went into the Pokemon Center. He sat down at a phone booth and dialed his home. A picture appeared on the screen and a slim athletic woman stood with an apron and a pair of hot mits on. "Hi mom just calling in to tell you i made it here ok." he said smiling. Suddenly a light appeared out of his moms pocket and a pokemon appeared. "Scep Sceptile Scep". "Hi Sceptile how are you doing." asked Eric getting close to the screen trying his hardest to grab ahold of Sceptile. Sceptile on the other end was doing the same getting close to the screen as though trying to reach out to him. "I have to tell you Eric Sceptile has been in a sort of depression since you left it here at home." said Erics mom trying to get into the screen that sceptile was now almost fully in. "I know i feel almost incomplete without it here with me." said Eric frowning a bit. "But i said i would start a new journey and start over with pokemon." he said looking strong again. "Well be safe son and i will tell your dad you called. Call me from the Professors house when you get there and introduce me to your new partner." his mom said grinning. Eric promised and turned off the terminal and made his way out of the Center. Eric had about ten minutes to get to the airport which was only a few minutes away from the Center. He was the first to get on the plane but soon after many people started boarding. Soon he was to begin a new journey and maybe meet a few friends.

Renton ran to the dumpster and threw up everything he had ever eaten in his whole life. The plane ride was horrible, turbulence was Renton's worst fear. Swaying and jerking side to side, it felt like he was falling. To make it worse the pilot did'nt even have a license. This was probably his worst experience in his life time. Since his life has never been in extreme circumstances.
He stepped out of the plane to find himself being in a like for another plane, "Oh Renton your journey begins here!" Acotstica cheerfully said.
"Well does'nt feel like it, urg, blm," Renton again had to fill a trash bag with half of his breakfast.
"Oh you'lle be okay, infact you should be more than okay. You should be the happiest person here! But you should also call your mum."
"I don't think I could walk that far... I'll just call her when I get there."
"Well, ok but make sure you have a good trip, and call me!" Acotstica suspiciously winked at Renton.

Renton boarded the plane feeling better than before; the other plane was rancid and rustly. This plane was perfectly polished. First class no doubt, he looked for a place to sit. He decided to sit next to a boy named Eric.

"Hello how are you?" Renton said.

The harbor was bustling with people from all around the world. Trainers were having pokemon battles in one area while a few others were pampering their pokemon. Rolf was walking towards the main part of the city, where he was to meet a family member, an aunt in fact. He made it to the outskirts of the city when he saw her waving at him, "Rolfy dear!! Over here!!"

Rolf's face lit up with excitement. "Aunty!" he ran towards her, with Mist at his heels. He embraced his aunt, "It's been a long time since I've seen you Aunty Luara!!"

The middle aged woman stroked Rolf's hair, "I know, but you know how life is! Gotta work to keep the bills payed off and junk... So, I heard from your mother that you're going away! And she gave you someone to accopany you?"

Rolf backed up a bit and nodded with a smile, "Yep! I'm going to a place called Oyno! With my new friend Mist!" The young Eevee jumped into his arms and mewed at his Aunt, saying hello.

Luara giggled and shook her paw, "Nice to meet you Mist. I take it you're ready to go?"

Mist nodded and cuddled up to Rolf, "Haha, yea she's gonna stay with me throughout this whole journey... She's my only best friend right now..." He stroked her fur. Rolf then heard the announcement of the loud speaker. The plane was now being boarded, and that it was last call before they closed the doors. "I've gotta go now Aunty Luara!! I'll see you again later!"

"I understand Rolf... Call your mom when you get there." She hugged him one last time. "Oh yes I almost forgot..." She let go of him and dug in her purse. Luara then brought out a yellow stone, with a weird zig--zag in the middle, "This here is a stone of some sorts... It's my good luck charm when I was young... Take it with you, this'll surely come in handy along the way."

Rolf recieved the gift, "Thanks Aunty... I'll take care of it I promise!" He placed it in his satchel at his waste, "Off to the plane! Bye bye! And I'll call you too when I get there!!!" He dashed off towards the Airport, with Mist in his arms. Luara waved to him as he sped out of sight.

A few minutes later, Rolf was able to board the plane, literally at the last minute. He took his seat in the back, strapped in and closed his eyes. Mist was now in her poke ball seeing as the rules stated that they should be wit held in there until they've reached their destination. Rolf was now relaxing, dreaming of what laid ahead of him in this new Region call Oyno.....

"All trainers have an hour before the plane to the new region leaves." said the intercom.

"Alright...I guess this is where the next chapter of my story begins." He lifted his capsules with the eggs inside and put them back inside his bag as he climbed up the stairs. He showed a pass to the atendant and she said: "I'll be escorting you to first class Ray, current champion of Johto and Hoenn."
She escorted him to the front of the plane where they had a velvet curtain to separate 2nd and 1st class cabins. in first class they had a Soda bar and singlar leather reclining chairs. He asked: "Hey Barkeep, pass me a pint of root beer please? " "Sure thing Boss." He passed a cold mug of Root beer to him and he took a sip. "Aaahhh...Nice and cold just the way I like it." he said as he relaxed into one of the recliners.

Eric was staring out one of the windows to the plane when he heard a voice, "Hello how are you doing". Eric looked over to see a boy sitting in the seat next to him. "Im doing fine thanks." he said politely. Another boy had just entered the cabin and sat down at one of the recliners. "Hey Barkeep, pass me a pint of root beer please? " the boy said. When he recieved his drink he took a long sip. He looked familiar to Eric but he couldnt put his fringer on it almost as if he had battled this boy before. Eric went back to staring out the window.

Ray noticed another trainer that was in the second class cabin... He then walked over to him carring his mug carefully being sure not to let any of his beverage spill..."Hey didn't I see you somewhere? did we battle once or something?"

"Hey didn't I see you somewhere? Did we battle once or something?" Eric heard next to him. Eric looked over from the window to the person who spoke. He looked up into the eyes of the trainer, then it hit him. "Yeah you beat me when i took on the Champion of Jhoto, and i almost made it to you in the Hoeen region championship." said Eric looking disappointed. He felt his ears turning red as the heated up. This type of thing happened when he got upset.

"Hmmm...that's quite interesting... I forgot your name... Mine's Ray... if you forgot as well...I'm hyper to take on the new league that they are forming aren't you?" "And no worries... I didn't bring any of the hardcore pokemon from the championship battles... I just got a couple of eggs with me right now... figured I'd hatch them and see what will come out..."

"Yeah i remember you Ray, the names Eric, remember we were both down to our last pokemon and it was my Sceptile, and your pokemon let loss an attack i wasnt expecting and in like three hits my Sceptile fainted." said Eric recalling those memories. "I cant wait to get there, im going to become champion of their league if it takes all my strength." said Eric looking strong.
