Arrow Duel Monsters: The Rare Cards

Domino City. A city divided into two parts; The high-tech city New Domino City and the muddy, destroyed Satellite Plant. A hierarchical structure has created with the New Domino City residents at the top, and the Satellite Plant residents at the last.

The stars have distinguished some people for a kind of a higher destiny, the residents of New Domino City, which is actually a rebuilt version of the original Domino City. The Satellite Plant is just a junk place, with it's residents being a kind of slaves for the New Domino City's populace.

The two parts are connected via a pipeline, which actually transports the junk from New Domino City to the mechanical craftsmen of the Satellite Plant. Once a month, the pipeline is opened. This is actually a good, but dangerous way to get into New Domino City.

New Domino City, is the place where the Duel Academia has been built. It is a special school that has been constructed carefully for the students and aims for their training in the Duel Monsters card game. Many students that have ended the studies in the school have become pro duelists and are well known all around the world. In this school, which trains up-and-coming duelists, every year an exhibition with rare cards is being held. The top class people are being invited there to attend this wonderful happening.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The music playing through air managed to cover up the senseless talking that was floating around the large crowd of duelists that were assembled in the area. The room itself glowed with the many fancy golden chandeliers that were hung from the ceiling and with the vibrant red carpeting that many people stood upon.

The middle-aged man scanned the crowds. Behind him, a fancy painting with a wolf howling into a crimson moon seemed to capture the eyes of anyone who hadn’t seen the painting beforehand.

Slowly standing up, the man raised his wine glass in front of his face and began to tap the side of the glass, getting everyone's attention and ceasing the music. "Greetings to all! I would like to welcome you all to another glorious year of serious entertainment provided by our Duel Academia. For you young faces who haven’t met me personally before, I am Kinobori Waza , owner of this fine Duel Academia…" he paused.

Kinobori bowed down to everyone with a small devious smile appearing on his face. As soon as he stood up once more, he shook his head. "And I thank you all for attending our opening banquet ceremony. Duelists, your reasons for being here are various and extend to the dark recesses of your minds, but here, we don’t ask questions…we provide answers to your problems… This night marks the fifth anniversary of our rare cards exhibition’s success…and as such…you must be really excited! As of now, you should all know your duty tonight. You've got to observe over the exhibition and make sure that everything rolls smoothly. In other words, you duelists, by any means must hinder every danger that might appear, as for example thieves! You've to be ready duelists! Our guests will arrive shortly...!" Kinobori ended his speech with another bow.

All the students that were hearing the head of the Duel Academia carefully clapped as he finished his speech. Every body was excited, both students and teachers. The students because they had a duty, while the teachers because they would attend this exhibition of rare cards with unlimited value.

At the front of the room, a boy sat behind the fancy white cloth covered table. His head was angular in shape with unkempt, slightly long, blond hair residing on the top of his scalp. His hair reached just a few centimeters from the base of his neck. His hair also had a few slightly darker colored locks that came from his father’s gene pool. He had cerulean blue colored eyes, although they were green because of his contact lenses. He had a slightly small nose and shallow cheeks. He had thin lips, and hiding behind them were pearly white teeth.

His upper body was as normally adorned by a light blue, long-sleeved shirt with a silhouette of a wolf’s head on it. Over the shirt was a dark gold, black rimmed vest. On the right side of the best was a pocket where he'd stored his deck. He wore a black belt around his slacks. On the black belt was a gold-colored buckle that glints under light. His slacks were particularly long, the pants ending a little bit over his white and black sneakers. He also wore a dark blue visor on his head. Emblazoned on it in black was an eagle's wing.

"Awright!" the boy, named Tsubasa, thought. "The fun is gonna begin soon!" he giggled and activated the Duel Disk which was attached to his left hand. He had to be ready anytime!

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

A large manor-like building surrounded by rows of fresh trimmed trees and shrubbery, statues of animals and beasts from all over the world spread about, and a glorious fountain sitting out front is gathering up an increasing amount of famous personalities from all over Domino City. In this building the exhibition of the most rare cards is going to take place tonight. All of the most well known personalities in the dueling world of Domino City are invited there. After all, this exhibition is made for people of the high class.

All the preparation have been made. Everything went smoothly, as planned. The only concern is the thieves. For sure, many thieves have already targeted Duel Academia, in order to steal the cards housed inside, cards of extremely value. Some guards have been placed in the enormous entrance of the manor so that they prevent thieves and people who do not belong to the high class from entering.

Once the night has succeed the day, the guests file in one after another, arriving by horse and carriage with leisurely chit chat and card games in mind. Carriages lavishly decorated, which belonged to rich civilians of Domino City.

[OOC: Sorry, if it is too long~! *slaps face* :P]

"Greetings to all! I would like to welcome you all to another glorious year of serious entertainment provided by our Duel Academia. For you young faces who haven’t met me personally before, I am Kinobori Waza , owner of this fine Duel Academia…", was all Mizuki could hear before she tuned out the headmaster and his rant. Mizuki was reading a book on the best card combinations for a standerd deck of cards. She just barely heard something about guests wanting to duel, she reached into her pocket and pulled out her deck. Next to her on the table she sat at was a custom duel disk that she used only in special occasions. This duel disk was a deep crimson red with a few hints of purple in other parts. She picked it up and put down the book and put on the disk. Infront of her a few yards away she noticed Tsubasa was getting his disk ready. She quickly and carefully put her deck in the holder and activated the disk. As soon as the deck was inserted the disk sprang to life, the wings sprang from the sides and connected in the center near the front. The holograph conducters lite up and caused a slight view of a card to appear near her feet. She didnt pay any attention for it always happened she knew the card to be her Raging Flame Sprite which was her most favorite card in her deck. Mizuki picked back up the book again and returned to reading her research.

Sipping from his drink during the speech, Jonouchi joined with the applause, clapping his hand against his glass and looking up at the man how did so much for his school. As Kinobori sat, his eyes were drawn back to the painting behind where he had stood, as he was staring at it before the room fell silent. He turned, finishing the last of his drink before turning and disposing of his cup. Taking a breath of relaxation, Jonouchi craned his neck to look for a usual crowrd to hang out with, but saw duel disks being whipped out before he knew it. Reacting on reflex, his own arm snapped up.

His uniform duel disk was of a red-orange color, and places on his right arm unlike most other students, due to his left-handedness. It was on the sleeve of a blazer all his own, and not the one he'd normally wear at the Academia. It was still red for the most part though, but had parts of it on the shoulders and arms and breast that were black. It was a classy shirt, but obviously the kind he'd wear on certain outings that weren't big social events. The shirt, not all the way tucked in though, as Jonouchi liked, covered his belt buckle mostly, letting a bit of glimmer shine through from the multiple lights in the room hitting it from so many angles.

Adjusting his glasses with his free hand, then letting that same hand stroke through his hair, making it a little less untidy. Loading his deck, he took a few steps, watching holograms of monsters come into existence around him. Looking for the nearest person trying to find a duel, he mumbled to himself, sighing.

"Let's see who's available for a game..."

The former Satellite looked about the room, not listening to the man, but making sure he clapped along when everyone else did. There he saw all the Domino residents, most of them were rich of course, it was New Domino City. They got everything, leaving the poor Satellite to rot. It sickened Ryuji. Ryuji took his deck out of his pocket and stared at it deeply.

"I'm gonna prove to everyone...." He thought, not finishing the thought completely. He placed the deck into his white Duel Disk, connected to his wrist, leading Ryuji to roll the sleeve of his jacket up. The other sleeve to the dark blue jacket was down like normal as he used that ar to scratch the back of his head, his scalp filled with medium, messy blue hair. His dark blue eyes found themself pondering about the room again. Who was he supposed to be dueling again? Thieves or something? He looked to his undershirt, a black shirt with a graffiti word on it. He read it to be' Worthy'. It was sentimental shirt, and it went well with his blue jeans and chain. But did it go well with his deck? Was he really worthy to be called a duelist?

Tsubasa pushed back the chair he was sitting at and stood up. He stretched his back, while yawning simultaneously. "They are gonna arrive shortly! Hehe!" he whispered in a tone only he could hear. "My work will start soon!" he approached a lavishly decorated table with lot of food. He grabbed from there something to eat. He devoured it in seconds. After all he was so hungry; he didn't eat anything today from the morning! He deserved at least a snack!

Tsubasa scanned the room. Lot of students were there. Most of them looked excited, while other showed no expression on their face; it was difficult to realize what they were thinking. "Pfffff! Don't tell me they are going to duel each against the other!" he muttered with a smile on his face. "It isn't the right time to duel against their comrades! They must be ready for a possible surprise attack! Whatever! They can do whatever they want!" the devious smile didn't disappear from his face.

After a few minutes he was next to the window. He was watching outside and thinking nothing in particular in the same time. However, once he noticed the guests file in one after another, arriving by horse and carriage with leisurely chit chat, he stopped pondering over. "It is about time~!"

[OOC: To make the duels easier, at the end of each of your turns place at the end/bottom of your post this:
Hand: The cards in your hand (Only number)
Graveyard: The cards in your Graveyard (Only number)
Field: The cards in your Field. For example; One face down and a face up monster (Jinzo)
And as said, we will go with the anime rules. So we will play with 4000 Life Points and summon the defense monsters face up! Ok, sorry for ranting~! :P]

Mizuki was still reading her book, all around her people were getting up and dueling each other. She put down her book and watched as many of her class mates pulled out there cards and started their duels. Mizuki got asked a few times if she wanted to duelbut she being as quiet as she is didnt except but told them later on maybe. She was really waiting for there new guests that were coming soon. Mizuki got up from her seat and walked towards the food table ignoring wether the fact she was interupting a duel or not. She reached down and grabbed a plate of small portions of different foods then she proceded to her seat and began to eat. She looked up and smiled as she noticed a small group of the first guests as they walked into the grand hall.

Jonouchi, his hype dying as he found no one to play, found himself stuffing himself with food, the arm with his duel disk leaning on the table. He watched the guests file in, and is eyes were drawn around the room; watching the elegantly-dressed individuals and groups and couples, then around, to the painting from before, and bored with it, his eyes finally rested on one of the windows. It was dusk, and the sun was more of an orange smear on the horizon, and he sighed. One of his responsibilities was to watch out for theives, so it would hurt. He unloaded his deck, sitting, looking through his cards while shifting his eyes at intervals to the processions of transportation outside.

Eyes notcing the foil on his key card, he decided that this place, with duels in full swing and everyone who wanted to play was playing, was no place for him to hang out if he himself wanted to get a game in. He made his way to the entrance hall, cracking a couple knuckles on one hand.

Kyn walked in slowly. He walked alongside two people that looked important. He kept his head down, and slipped by the entrance, not really being noticed. He stepped into the main room, and pushed up his glasses. It was a spectacular sight. People dueling from left to right. Most people would be taken aback by such a scene. Kyn, however, though little of it. He pushed his glasses up slightly, and watched two teens playing.

"87 percent probability the one on the left loses in two turns."

Two turns later, sure enough, the teen on the left collapsed with defeat. Kyn simply turned away. To see some kid stuffing his face. The kid prolly didn't think anyone else noticed, but Kyn read his lips. The kid was after the cards. Kyn thought to himself. His chances would increase exponentially if he had a partner or two. Kyn quickly took out a piece of paper, and wrote on it.

He carefully strode over past Tsubasa. He dropped the note on his lap, and stood next to him, looking off. The note inside read..

If you try to take the cards by yourself, you'll lose. Follow my lead, we'll take them together.

"I will go make the preparations!" Tsubasa murmured as he took his eyes from outside of the enormous window. It was then that Tsubasa noticed a man, he couldn't distinguish if he was a kid or an adult, who was wearing glasses passing by him. A note had just fell off from him. Tsubasa bent down and grabbed the piece of paper that had been dropped. His intention was to give it to the man without looking at it, cause it would be rude, but accidentally his eyes fell on it.

If you try to take the cards by yourself, you'll lose. Follow my lead, we'll take them together.

"Eh!?" Tsubasa pondered over. "Does he mean me?" he was surprised. He turned his head right to see the person that had dropped the note, but the person was looking away. "How did he find out that I want to steal the cards? Is he some kind of fortune teller or something like that?" he wondered. "Anyway. I will find out...!" the devious smile appeared again on his face.

"Let's go to another room where we can speak better without any of those idiot students above our heads!" Tsubasa directed quietly to Kyn as he pointed with his finger towards a door leading to another room of the huge building of the Duel Academia.

Ryuji watched the elegant people file in the room. It made him sick. Did they feel it was there place to flaunt thier wealth by buying expensive dresses and tuxedos? What about the poor people in the Satellite, struggling to get thier next meal? Ryuji scoffed at them, turning toward the food. Someone was eating ferociously, he didn't want to get in thier way, or even worse, get a hand bitten off. He looked around, some guy in glasses was talking to another guy and leaving while another kid lost a duel. Ugh. Boooring. Where was the action? But then again, why would he wanna help these people? What did they do that was so special to deserve protection? He needed to vent his anger. He began walking over to the window to feel the wind.

Jonouchi finished his food, and walking, to the hall, seeing someone by the window. They had a shirt with some strange design or word on it, and he looked ominously out the window. The way he eyed the crowd made Jonouchi nervous; he did it with a certain glint in his eye that made him almost automatically one of them ost suspicious people there. Of course he didn't catch those walking behing him to another room. Still, this person was a priority as of now, and Jonouchi raised his duel disk, orange and red and shining in the lights, to Ryuji. Lights lit; the disk elongating with the card slots being exposed; it activated fully.

"Eh you, I don't know if you're up to anything or not, but how 'about a game?"

((I'm sorry if this seemed abrupt, but need a card game going~))

Standing in the corner of the exhibition hall was Shinji Miyamoto, a student who more or less kept to himself. He quite tall for his age and had black hair that was parted at the middle and draped down to his shoulders. He wore the school uniform he had worn every day since he arrived at the Duel Acadamia. He also had his own personal duel disk attached to his right arm as opposed to the one the Academy issued in an attempt to keep some individuality.

"They're all tools." He whispered to himself. "They'd rather gawk over some stupid junk cards that they will never own than trying to improve there skills." He takes out his deck and starts to sift through them, "These cards may not be of the highest of value, but the synergy they posses is what makes them potentially better than some ancient Blue Eyes White Dragon, or Exodia the Forbidden One, its with these one day I will reign as king of the duelists, Im sure of it."

He puts his deck back in its case and starts to walk around, hoping to find someone to duel, or even talk with, someone who wasnt so easily impressed by decade old paper, and relics. Shinji decides to walk around a bit hoping to find someone else with a duel disk on. After some wondering around he stumbles upon some empty seats in a hallway out side of the exhibition room. "Finally some air and time to myself." He pulls out his deck again and sifts through his cards, thinking of other strategies he could use for One-Turn-Kills or Lockdowns.

((OOC:Hope you dont mind me jumpin in here, also sorry if Im a bit bleh, its been 3 or 4 years since I heavily RP'd))

(OOC: That was a surprise Dandylion! And because of your good writing skills, you're in! ;D)

Lights lit around Tsubasa. It seemed as a duel was about to begin. "Shrimps!" He ignored everyone and everything and he started walking towards the door, where he was previously pointing at. He didn't even turn behind and to check, if the person he had just met, was following him. "I can manage on my own in case he doesn't help me~!" Tsubasa thought as he opened the door and passed through it; that lead him to the hallway outside of the exhibition room.

"I wonder why they didn't realize I am not part of the Academia. I am not a familiar face around, so it isn't so difficult to find that out...!" the thought hit his mind, while he was walking with his head lowered. "Maybe...!" he stopped thinking. He noticed a student who was quite tall and had black hair that was parted at the middle and draped down to his shoulders. He also had his own personal duel disk attached to his right arm.

"Oh, no! Not another one!" Tsubasa complained as he continued walking, slowly approaching him; he couldn't turn back now. "H-Hi!" he waved at him with his right hand revealing his duel disk, while simultaneously smiling gently. "Why aren't you with the others?" he asked with a gentle tone on his voice, still smiling flatly.

"Hmmm?" Shinji looked up, "Because I'm not easily impressed by foil encrusted 'One-Of-A-Kind Cards'," he shrugged, "I think of it as a waste of time and the Academy's resources instead of training duelists such as myself." Shinji notices the stranger's Duel Disk, "Now that I answered yours, why dont you return the favor and ask my question, how does a duel sound? I'm sure thats what your looking for walking around flaunting that Duel Disk of yours."

Shinji stands up, and puts out his hand, "The name's Shinji Miyamoto, stranger, what's yours?"

"Sure I"m game." He said, sliding his deck into his duel disk and it activating, spreading and lighting up.
