Default The Legend of Zelda: War of Darkness

Thousands of years after the crisis of the Twilight Realm, when those events became legends, an unknown Swordsman named Vaati came from the depth of the Death Mountain. With him appeared an army of the worst possible creatures, that attacked the peaceful Goron’s civilization who lives on this very mountain, without any warning or reasons. This army quickly took over the place known as the 'Tower of Era', built hundreds of year previously to the attack, and eliminated half of the Gorons before the King of Hyrule could hear about the attack.

A Goron messenger could escape the battlefield, and went to the Castle of Hyrule, requesting help from the King, who decided to send troops in order to help fighting this mysterious threat. Yet he didn’t expect Vaati to suddenly enter inside the Throne Room and to kill him, right as he gave the orders, under the eyes of numerous guards. They tried to fight him and to save the King, but were quickly defeated. Vaati didn’t satisfy himself just by taking the King’s life, and as such stole from his corpse a mysterious artifact, then left back into the Tower of Era, to finish exterminating the Gorons, the last step before directing his troops toward the Castle of Hyrule.

The princess of the Kingdom, Zelda, followed what her father would have done, and decided to send to the Death Mountain Knights of the Kingdom, in order to help the Gorons, and by extension to protect the Kingdom. The troops, although devastated by the King’s death, followed the orders of the princess. She named her childhood friend, a young man named Link, exceptionally skilled for his young age, to lead the troops to fight the war against this mysterious army.

This will be the start of a war that could eventually spread to the whole Kingdom of Hyrule.

--- Tower of Hera ---

Top Floor

Vaati appeared suddenly in the middle of the main room from the top floor inside of the recently conquered tower, which thrones at the top of the Death Mountain itself. He had been giving orders to finish off those foolish Gorons and to keep some as prisoners, just in case. So far, everything came according to the plan Ganondorf designed, and that he was the one to put into motion. The tower mirroring Ganon’s Tower in Hyrule had quickly been taken over; the Death Mountain was nearly conquered by their forces. In fact, they could have attacked Hyrule’s Castle now and won, yet Ganondorf forbidden this to happen. Why, he didn’t know, and in the end didn’t care. He just knew they had already won the war and conquered Hyrule in a way.

He took something under his cape and looked at it during some seconds. It was the artifact he had stolen from the dead corpse of the King of Hyrule. It was white, looked like a magician wand, maybe to do miracles, or to lead musician into a symphony; it was the two at once in fact. The ‘Wind Waker’, such was the name of the precious artifact the Kings of Hyrule passed from generation to generation. With this on their side, it was one more steps near of the victory. This was without counting on his sword; for a second, the thought of him rebelling against Ganondorf, and becoming the ruler of both Hyrule and the Dark World, came through his mind. He had the sword, the wand and his hat. Yet Ganondorf was responsible for his sword, and for the idea to steal the Wind Waker. He doubted of his ability to be able to stand against Ganon for long.

“Master Vaati,” said a guard who entered the room, a traitor Hylian who had spent too much time in the Dark World for his own good “There are movements from the Castle. It appears some peoples are coming out of it, ready to fight and possibly coming toward us.” He quickly finished saying.

“… I see.” He said and dismissed the guard, then walked toward an half tainted window. He couldn’t see them from here, but he knew they came. Foolish Hylians, mortals, he thought. It was to be expected that the Castle would react “Let’s play with them.” he though and moved away from the window and moved the Wind Waker in a similar fashion a young Link did in another timeline. At this moment, a cold, deadly wind started to blow from the Death Mountain, going until the barely remaining ruins of an ancient version of Kakariko Village.

--- Hyrule ---
Exit of Castle Town

Launcelot looked around him as he exited the Castle Town. He had come once he knew he could be needed to serve the noble royal family leading Hyrule. There had been the attack of a mysterious army against the Gorons, at the Death Mountain, and the most skilled peoples were needed to help them. When he came, thanks to his past actions, he had been granted a pretty large role into the mission to help the Gorons. Yet, Gorons were very strong peoples and he wondered how they could be defeated that easily. Who could this mysterious enemy? He didn’t know yet, but hoped to find out soon.

--- Hyrule Castle ---

Zelda walked around Hyrule Castle, wringing her hands together anxiously. She was worried about how things would turn out at Death Mountain and hoped the Gorons hadn't been completely wiped out. She had asked Link to lead the fight against the new enemy. While she couldn't fight, she could at least help heal people who would come back injured, if their enemy left anyone alive to return. She banished that thought and tried to keep her thoughts a bit more optimistic despite the situation.

She entered the throne room, trying to forget the events that had happened in this room earlier. Since her fathers death, Zelda had been carrying a sword at her side. She wasn't about to allow herself to fall to a similar fate and leave Hyrule without a leader, vulnerable to anyone and everyone to take over. She sighed as she went into the adjoining room to look over a map and some plans in case of an attack on the Castle Town.

Link was horrified at the news of Vaati's exploits. He was just recently instructed by Zelda to command the army she gave him a while ago. He wasn't sure if he was ready to command such a big group of people, since he was always by himself, but he should be able to manage. He too, went into the throne room and paced a little bit. He was very troubled at the news and he also thought in the back of his mind that something bigger was behind this but he had no idea what. He placed his hand safely on his sword, which wasn't the master sword but still fine, and sighed. He then trudged over to the side room by the Throne and walked up to Zelda, who was studying some maps. He took some hard glances at them, also studying them to reassure himself.

Douver was on lookout when he saw a group of monsters hovering around something in Hyrule Field, he was sitting on the Hyrule gait ledge. He stood up and then he bent himself, arcing his back; he jumped off the edge. He landed silently on the soft Hylian grass. His Sheikah mask shined bright against the light from the Sun. The monsters looked like giant blobs; he coul'nt waste any time, he ran toward the monsters he just itentified as Juberries. He knew these creatures, so he knew how to handle them. Right when he was three feet away from them they started to morph, they jelly like skin started to pile up in one area. A arm came out of the strange skin pile, go strait to Douver. He jumped into the air, he saw all three creatures. Another one shot out a arm, he dodged it while he was in the air; he was about to land when the third shot his arm. He evaded it by doing a cartwhell. Then landed crouched down, he ran to the first monster and pushed his arm into the Juberrie and grabbed its heart. then he pulled the heart out of the creature. He desinigrated in thin-air. He grabbed his hook-shot and shot it into the other monsters heart, but instead of him vanishing he instead was flown at Douver. Douver wanted this, he punched its heart with his other hand. There was only left: His hand glowed with a black aura, he waved it in the air. The aura fell off his hand and then was shaped into a needle that slinged off into the monster. He vanished... The monsters were hovering a boy; the boy sighed, "Thanks, I was tying to deliver this letter to the Death-Mountain knights before th-" He saw that Douver was a Skull-Kid, he ran off and dropped a letter. Douver read it...

Douver jumped into the window, there was a elder women inside, "Where's Launcelot"

Zelda looked up when Link entered the room. He was already armed and looked ready. She was a bit worried about how things could turn out from here. Zelda was worried about her friend and the wellbeing of Hyrule, and she knew it would only get worse the longer this drew out. She pointed to a section on the map.

"This area here will probably be the most trouble. It's the easiest spot for an ambush." She said to him, taking a quill to circle the spot.

--- Tower of Hera ---
Top Floor

After Vaati moved his hand with the Wind Waker like a true expert, the sudden sound of clapping could be heard from all around the top floor of the tower, before it was followed by an almost child like laugh. This sound continued to ring through the ears of anyone there, as it sounded as if the noise was coming from no one in particular, but it was all around not stationary in one place.

“Yay, it seems we have a true conductor with us, that was quite a display, quite a display yes!” the child like layered voice said from the darkness as the clapping slowly stopped and two small green eyes appeared floating in the darkness of the room. From this, a form began to slowly appear as the eyes continued to grow inside with an extra ring of bright yellow, followed by an orange almost red like color.

The final whole appearance of this strange being came into full view as a heart shaped object with many spikes protruding out from it appeared with the eyes firmly locked in the middle of it. Finally the full appearance of the strange floating mask could be seen, and as it floated towards Vaati, a second almost even stranger being could be seen attached to the object floating in the air with it.

The body that almost appeared that it was being dragged in the air after the mask, was of black skin and dark green color lines that ran down the length of his back and arms. Tilting its head slowly from side to side, it was almost as if the strange creature was examining Vaati while it still laughed quite child like to itself.

------------------------

---Ganons Tower---
Dark World

Slowly tapping the ends of their brooms against the cold hard stone that made up everything within the tower, two incredible old women simply walked along as they used the brooms they held as some sort of walking sticks. With long almost beak like noses and huge bulging eyes, these two women looked as if they could collapse with the slightest breeze...so why was it that as they walked further and further up the tower, the rare monster that was in their way made it its business at that moment, to get out of their path as quickly as possible.

Reaching the top floor and the huge doors that led into the final chamber, the two witches immediately stopped a few feet away from the door, finding a large black Iron Knuckle currently blocking their approach. Continuing the two’s walk, one of the women marched forward before stopping and staring up towards the helmet of the monster high above them.

“How dare you stand in our way, stop blocking us and allow us to enter, this instant!” the woman with the icy blue jewel in the middle of her forehead said, while the remaining twin who remained a few feet back and had a fiery red jewel, simply closed her eyes smiling. When the powerful creature refused to move, a rather cold grin appeared on the witch’s face as she moved and pointed the stray part of her broom at the monster, immediately causing it a few seconds later to become entirely frozen solid from the inside out.

Twirling her broom around, the woman suddenly with a smile shot the wooden part of her stick forward, stabbing into the chest of the monster causing it to shatter and become nothing more but a pile of rubble. Turning around to her sister, who had opened her eyes and was now looking straight back at her, both instantly began to cackle and laugh as they placed a hand, each from one of them, onto the two doors opening them up and allowing the two witches to walk into the huge room, just before the doors closed themselves again.

Silra covered her eyes and looked up to see the sun. "So this is the realm of light." She said. "Alright I'd better go find Link and Princess Zelda. I think she's at the castle behind that gate." Silra walked toward and walked to the gate of the castle grounds. She noticed a guard there and she asked: "I wish to see Princess Zelda, I come on behalf of Midna of the dark realm." "Alright you may pass." She walked to the throne room. and saw princess Zelda and Link. She bowed and said: "I am Silra of the Dark realm... I come on behalf of Midna."

Link nodded at Zelda, looking more closely at the map and studying the spot she circled. He just got more worried and didn't really know what to do, but he promised himself he would follow all of Zelda's orders. He saw a woman come into the throne room and run over to him and Zelda. He assumed it was for her and so he smiled politely and stepped back from the map to give the woman room to talk to Zelda. He studied the woman and was wondering what she was here for.

Link brightened at the name Midna. "Yes, I know Midna. Nice to meet you Silra." He smiled at her and bowed to be polite. He then thought about Midna and his past adventures with her and such. He remembered she helped him before and they were through a lot together, but she then mysteryously left. He looked back down at the map, deep in thought, with a puzzled look on his face. "She said she was from the Dark Realm on behalf of Midna. SO she is there?" He thought getting even more puzzled then he already was.

Zelda raised an eyebrow at the name Midna. She’d heard the stories of how Midna helped Hyrule in the past. Apparently, Twili had an incredibly long lifespan.

“Well, Silra, why don’t you have a seat and tell us what brought you here.” Zelda said, pulling up a couple chairs and sitting down.

Silra took her seat and said: "Well... I was supposed to get to you in some way and I figured out how... I took one of the portals the enemies use and wound up in hyrule looking like this. I was sent by Midna to get your help to get revenge on Ganondorf. So... Are you and Link with us Princess?"

Link was offered a chair from Zelda and gladly took it. He sat down still deep in thought. But then he looked up Silra. He wanted to hear her story just as much as Zelda did, and so he trained his gaze directly on her, waiting for her story. "I would definently like to hear this."

Vaati stopped using the Wind Waker and slowly turned to Majora, without any expression on his face. This Mask had a gift: to get on his nerves. He knew he'd had burn it if he had been at Ganondorf's place, yet he didn't see things like this. Unpredictable. He felt the Mask could define this word and he hated the idea of it; Ganondorf had told him that the Mask had once been an incredibly powerful being that came back after a long time. For this reason alone Vaati felt trapped and was forced to leave the Mask do as he pleases, with limits of course. He admired Ganondorf maybe sorely for his calm in front of being such as that.

"Majora, what do you want?" asked coldly Vaati "Don't you have better to do at the moment?" he continued, but didn't say anything else. He could have given a direct order to the mask, yet the odd the Mask obeys was low. He could always try, but didn't want to give an order he knew wouldn't be followed, like going ahead and killing the fools coming. He could always attack the Mask if ever he disobeyed, but not only the battle would promise to be long and unsure, but he wasn't especially willing to see Ganondorf's reaction in learning that his own people fight between them rather than to cooperate "Cooperate with that thing?" he thought and had an inside sigh.

Ganondorf was standing inside of the Top Floor of the Tower, mirroring somehow Vaati's position in the Dark World. At the moment, his troops were likely taking control of the Death Mountain in the Light World, leaded by Vaati and Majora. But it was just the beginning. He had been planning to send troops to three temple located at Hyrule after this, temple were are located medium doors leading to the Dark World. Those doors aren't sealed, not open, merely closed. The fastest way to take over Hyrule is to open those door before they get sealed; he could have done it before, but couldn't have take out the security of those temples without the Castle reacts, now with the battles at Death Mountain, they won't have enough force to stop the opening of those doors.

As he planned on who to send there, he heard the sound of one the monsters guarding this room dying then a familiar cackles from far, then doors opening. He didn't move as he heard this, knowing it wasn't the hero chosed by the Goddess that could have possibly come this far, but obviously his step mothers, the Twinrona.

Walking slowly through the large dark room, both old woman grinned a toothy smile from the fun they had with the Iron Knuckle just moments ago, looking slightly around before stopping a few feet behind their King, with their brooms firmly gripped by their long clawed hands. “Your orders are going as planned our King.”Koume said with a grin as she turned to her sister, who smiled and nodded in agreement before returning her gaze to behind Ganondorf.
“hehhhehhehheh, Yes! The fools from the castle are doing exactly what you said, they’ve sent their forces towards Death Mountain. All completely unaware of what they’re walking into.”Kotake added cackling much like her sister. Both walking slowly towards their dark king, the two sisters smiled and grinned as they stood about a foot behind Ganondorf, one on either side of him, still gripping their brooms as they spoke.

Laughing so much more in his creepy child layered voice, Majora floated much more closer to Vaati mere inches away from his face with his large mask eyes staring straight into Vaati’s own, completely motionless. Tilting his head as he looked at Vaati slowly up and down, the Mask began to laugh once again as he floated slowly away from Vaati, relaxing his back on something that appeared to be invisible, with his legs and arms slightly crossed over each other.

“Aww, don’t be a meanie. I came all this way to see what you were doing Vaati.” Majora said to Vaati as he continued to float, slowly moving his head from side to side. “Those rocky thingies were no fun, so I went to look for some more people to play with.” The Mask said in a rather sad tone, before looking out the window Vaati was near to, staring towards the direction that the forces from the castle would be approaching from.

With some more laughing as he kept his focus on that one single direction, Majora started to float back closer to Vaati, turning his head completely towards him as his laughter softened. “Yay, more people are coming to play with. Maybe we can play my game....I really hope we can.” Said the deranged mask as he clapped his dark twili hands together in excitement.
