Fire Emblem: Eternal Radiance
By Ningacom (Not Ninjacom >.<, I am a Samurai O.o )

51 years have passed since the events of Ike’s campaign against Daein. 48 since the Dawn Brigade’s fight against Begnion. For these past years peace has flourished in Tellius. Crimea, Gallia, Daein, and Begnion. Although a few grudges still hold, each has left each other to it’s own. But a new threat has arrived from the west, from the continent of Monagra. This land is separated into two separate countries, Fenris and Tor. Fenris is occupied by the wolf laguz, while the other is a beorc country. Tor has been blessed with a new ruler, the Emperor Fell. Fell is a young man who’s uprising to power is unknown. But Fell has two identifying qualities. He is a genius, and he is also bloodthirsty. Tor’s power falls under the might of Fenris’, but they have now discovered the neighboring continent of Tellius. This raises Fell’s hopes of having his need for war satisfied, so now he waits in anticipation. At the same time, a strong group of soldiers are oblivious to the coming conflict, and the role they shall all play…

-------------------------------------------------

CH1. A simple beginning

Cuno peeked over the bush he was hiding behind. In front of him, 3 men were visable. These 3 men were part of a group of bandits, The Wild, and had been terrorizing the surronding area for quite some time. It was Cuno's job at the moment to attack this small group, and inerregate them. Cuno sighed, he could already tell that these morons knew about as much as the rest of Tellius did about The Wild. But a mission is a mission, plus it wasn't that difficult. Cuno looked over at his partner. "Hey Devek, are you ready?"

Devek took in a deep breath and let the air slowly exit through his nose. He shut his eyes and lowered his head. In his left hand, he held a small, wool rag, which he slowly moved back and forth along the metalic blade of his sword. His right hand, wrapped around the hilt of the sword, squeezed tightly.

He opened his eyes, peering down at his polished blade. Satisfied, he placed the small rag into a small pocket beneath his armor. He smiled, looking at the sword he held in his hands. Devek caught his reflection from the blade, his eyes locked on his armor. At that moment, his mind began to wonder through memories of his childhood. Stories of his idol, The Black Knight, began to replay themselfs. Just as one of his favorite stories was about to began, Devek was pulled back into reality by his partner's voice.

"Hey Devek, are you ready?"

Devek blinked once, taking only a second to catch what his partner had said. "Yeah, Cuno, I'm ready."

Cuno smiled, Devek had been daydreaming again. It was odd that such a spacey guy could be such a great fighter. Cuno was also impressed at Devek's level of obidiance, since he had also been vying for this job. Cuno was a little embarrased, the only reason he had become the Leader was because he had higher stratigic skills, and Devek was a better fighter. Cuno shook his head, now he was the one daydreaming. "Good. When I give the signal, attack." Cuno said. The plan was for Cuno to move to a different location and throw a javelin into the camp. These guys weren't smart.... at all. Not suspecting an attack, they would move toward Cuno's location. At that time, Devek would rush them from behind. When they realized they were being attacked by Devek, their consentration would move from Cuno, giving him the oppurtunity to attack. It was a simple strategy, and usually used for battles of much higher numbers. But it would work in this situation as well. Cuno gave a nod toward Devek, and started moving toward his designated spot.

Tetsu stood on a building not too far away from where Cuno and Devek were about to attack the other group. He still had his hand firmly gripped on his swords handle. If thier plan didn't work for whatever reason, he'd be the backup. He hoped. He didn't know his orders so he was going to improvise. Devek started daydreaming again. It was pretty funny, he smiled. He looked up into the clear sky and watched as the clouds passed by.
"Crap...Now I"m caught in my own little world...I can't focus...is this some trait that runs around here or something?" Tetsu though watching the clouds pass by.

(Will this do?)

Mis-matched-colored eyes--one yellow and the other being the color of fire, red--were watching the scene from behind a building, as these eyes belonged to a fellow who thought he had happened upon an interesting scene in his travels as he was about to leave the place. After all, he only came here to pick up provisions and whatnot but he thought it might be fun to watch whatever kind of trouble that was stirring up with the bandits as well as three unnamed people who were preparing to possibly engage in a fight with said bandits. Frey, being who he was, was definitely interested in just rushing in there to stain his sword with blood in some fight--surely those bandits had a bounty on their heads.

The brown-haired man also thought of the fun of surprising maybe one or two of them--hmm, which shall it be? Whilst holding a bag in his left hand, his right hand twitched--he was definitely itching for a fight and as long as nothing was happening it seemed he wasn't going to get one. So he decided. Frey bent his knees, pushing off the ground with his feet, and landed on top of the building a with strange silver hair; he sat down, looking quite relaxed and even gave a yawn as the sun shined brightly in the sky. Frey was glad he was traveling through the area.

"Yo! Having fun standing on top of a rooftop?"

As the long brown-haired youth had spoken such words, the sound of his complete carefree attitude spoke loudly--even though he knew whatever it was they were all doing was supposed to be important. Was it? Well, at least not to him. He did not know why they were wasting time with bandits...unless they were going for a bounty or something.

"Yo! Having fun standing on top of a rooftop?"

Tetsu jumped when he heard these words. He quickly whipped his head around, his waist moving halfway with him to see a brown haired man. This snapped him out of his trance as he focused on the person he was loking at. He kept his hand near his blade's handle, just in case there was a need to protect himself from meaningless violence.
"It's a little amusing. Who are you?" Tetsu asked, grinning. He really didn't know why he was grinning. Perhaps he was still halfway in his trance.

Frey nearly grinned in a quite similar manner as the one in front of him when he saw that the silver-haired teenager had practically been surprised at his unexpected appearance--he was glad that his presence had gone unnoticed. Then again, he supposed he was kind of good at that sort of thing--although he reminded himself that sneaking up behind someone was not always the most pleasant way to greet someone the other seemed a little happy that he had done so. Was the other one just bored from standing up from here and just watching? He would be.

Already the brunette spun the sword around in his right hand with a quick momentum that seemed to display his eagerness to engage in such meaningless combat, he was bored after all and he decided that in order to quench his boredom he needed to have some fun. Frey just gave a simple smile that involved both of his eyes appearing to just glint at the prospect of causing some trouble; he was sure those two could handle those lousy bad excuse for bandits anyhow. Time to make a bad joke.

"I am...The Black Knight!"

Pause.

"Just kidding! My name is...Frey. Let's have some fun, shall we?"

Frey then sped ahead forward, his sword already been drawn from its sheath due to his actions from earlier he quickly performed a series of two slashes. One that had him slice horizontally towards the silver-haired individual's chest and another that made him dance on his feet, twirling around, to give a slash going diagonally towards the other's chest. He wanted to see whether or not if the other could block his attacks at least--or keep a good battle going.

Tetsu could see this coming. He immediatley whipped out his sword from his sheath in a blur blocking the first attack by mere seconds. He saw the second come his way as he ducked and threw his sheath at the blade. The sheath was swatted away but it gave Tetsu some time. He rolled and slahed diagonally upward to the man's chest. He really didn't want to fight, but he could tell this man was skilled.

The brown-haired man grinned, as the sword of which the silver-haired individual wielded, made a cut into his black shirt as he moved to the side a bit late--he would have to fix that later--and he took this moment to quickly slide his right foot right into the silver haired man's side of his left foot since he was standing on that side in order to make the other one fall. Perhaps he should be less careless during this battle even though it was a bit tough for him to actually not be almost completely careless in every battle he was in--especially since he was very confident in his skills. Although he consciously did not realize that he was almost arrogant when it came to his abilities because of this.

The little 'trip' was something he had learned on his travels and found it often amusing to use in battle--usually the opponent would not expect their attacker to do that in a sword battle. He thought that this battle was indeed a lot of fun--more fun than he had expected to be having during a regular battle; even though his skill was more higher than the other's, he surely made up for it in quick reflexes.

"You're a good opponent! What's your name?"

Frey said as he took a low swing towards his opponent as he said this with a wild grin--his blood was rushing and he did not feel like ending the battle until he was satisfied.

Tetsu found himself falling. He didn't kknow trips could be used in battle. He quickly placed his hands on the roof top to stop the falling he noticed the sword and quickly pushed off his hands for a litle leap. The leap was small as the blade skimmed the tip of Tetsu's nose. He barely avoided getting his nose chopped off. He then flipped upward and spun through the air slashing diagonally at his opponent.
"I'm Tetsu." He responded, the first time he spoke.

"Yahooo!"

Clash.

It was the sound of two individual's swords that had slid against each other as there was a swing of blades that prevented each other from reaching a hit of any sort. This sound acknowledged a very special point in battle--the brown-haired man saw the other's flashy attack and had quickly moved his blade into a defense position to block the oncoming diagonal slash. Despite the slight tension--or maybe there wasn't any of the sort--he decided to speak once again,

"It's nice to meet you, Tetsu-kun. I hope we become very good friends. Well, that is if you're qualified enough to become a friend of mine..."

Despite him being one who was light weighted, he did not move from the spot of which he was in; his mis-matched eyes locked into his opponent's before he stepped back and in a second was no longer in the same spot he was before.

In that quick second he had dashed underneath the silver-haired man's visual perception--or however you call--which seemed like he had quickly made himself a mere blur before ending up right behind the man named Tetsu in order to perform a swift vertical slash towards the other's exposed back.

The man was fast. Very fast. But so was Tetsu. Tetsu whipped around as the blade of his opponent caught his arm and neatly sliced it. Tetsu batted the man's sword back with his own sword, the wound stinging. The speed and surprise of the attack must've slowed Tetsu down slightly. No matter. Tetsu felt the warm blodd slowly run down his upper arm as he swung his sword to the man's head diagonally then stopped halfway and moved it the opposite direction to the man's chest as a fake out attack.

"Yeah, maybe we can be friends."

After catching Cuno's nod, Devek stuck the tip of his blade into the soft ground, just far enough that the sword stood on it's own free will. He crossed his arms and looked at Cuno, keeping his eyes on him as he moved toward his destination.

A cold wind blew, tickling Devek's face and blowing his white hair slightly. He shut his eyes and let out a soft sigh of relaxation. He drew in a deep breath of air through his nose and slowly let it escape his mouth. His entire body was filled with a sence of relxation and calmness, completely erasing any doubts he may had had about the plan. He opened his eyes and set them on the three men. Now completely relaxed, he was also completely concentrated and waited for the signal to attack.

Cuno reached the designated area (despite almost tripping on a twig and blowing his cover). Crouching down, Cuno set down his lance, and detached the javelin on his back. Cuno contemplated this plan while rubbing the sleek, aerodynamic wood of the javelin. The point of this maneuver was not to hit the enemy, only distract him. Cuno was at too far a range to actually hurt anyone. The only problem with this plan was if the enemy was as stupid as Cuno believed. Meaning that they would investigate the woods instead of simply setting it all on fire. Cuno sighed, this Leader thing was dangerous. Refocusing on the task at hand, Cuno drew back the javelin.

-----------------------------------------

Meanwhile, the leader of said bandits was troubled. You see, he was a very superstitious man, and he believed in karma. That the more negativity you caused, the worse your punishment would be. And the bandits had gone without conflict for 2 weeks now. Watching his dinner, a wild pig they had hunted, he wondered when his time of redemption would come. At that point, as if a message from the heavens, a javelin came streaking through the air, skewering his pig.

That was it, the signal. With a single jump, Devek lept from behinded the covering toward the the distracted bandits with their backs to him. Despite being in such heavy armor, Devek covered the ground between him and the bandits in a matter of seconds. Thanks to much training, Devek has been able to move quick even with heavy armor on, moving roughly three times as fast as a normal knight would.

Remembering that they were to be captured alive, Devek restrained himself from slicing them in two. Instead, he raised his sword over his left shoulder and slashed in a down right diagonal direction. The tip of the blade bit into the backs of the two closest bandits, leaving a trail of blood in it's path. The bandits screamed in pain and lifted their hands to their backs, trying to either stop the blood running down their backs or the great pain they were suffering. They dropped to their knees, still trying to do something about their backs. As Devek turned to strike the third, he noticed that he had taken the crys of pain as a warning and was now running away from Devek, straight toward Cuno.

Confident Cuno would be able to capture him, Devek bent over and grabbed each bandit by the neck tightly and lifted them form the ground. They quickly released their backs and began to fight off Devek's grasp, flailing their arms at him and beating at his arms. Though it was usless, for Devek only tightened his grip on their necks, causing one of them to faint from lack of oxygen. He looked on to see if Cuno would catch the bandit.
